The former Gor Mahia forward moved from Allsvenskan’s Djurgardens IF to join Guizhou Zhicheng Hengfeng on a record Sh470 million and his mentor, Jacob ‘Ghost’ Mulee says the decision cannot be solely condemned.
He explains that Olunga has joined a group of notable names from major leagues across the world; a thing he says can boost the Chinese league. “Olunga’s move from Sweden to China is not absolutely a bad idea because the club offered a fortune to Djurgardens and the player.
“Looking at the kind of players who have joined the league, I think the league will soon improve: the likes of Olunga can be the pioneers of lifting up the league,” he told Goal.
Some of players, who have joined various teams in China in the recent past include Oscar, Carlos Tevez, John Obi Mikel and Roger Martinez.
