Nwakaeme: Super Eagles' invite a result of hard work

Anthony Nwakaeme believes his invitation to the Super Eagles was a result of his hard work at Hapoel Beer Sheva.

Nwakaeme who has been enjoying rave review in Europe with the Isreali champions finally got his national team breakthrough as coach, Gernot Rohr extended an invite to him for the Russia 2018 World Cup Qualifying crucial games against Cameroon.

“I have never been disappointed because for me I always feel that my time will come and I am very happy that the coach has recognized me this period because I have really been working hard with my team,” Nwakaeme told media

"It is a big plus for every player to represent your country and it is very important we take the game with all seriousness.

"Cameroon are the African champions and it is going to be a difficult game but we are looking forward to playing in front of our fans and we need to come out with impressive result.”

The bulky striker, in contention for a start against the Indomitable Lions, scored 18 goals in all competitions for his Isreali side last season. And he has already found the back of the net four times from eight games in the fresh 2017/18 season.
