“With Benjamin’s experience, adding him to the Revolution was an important step for our club this offseason,” Revolution general manager Michael Burns said in a news release Friday. “We began this offseason with the goal of bringing in veteran players who are ready to contribute right away, so we are very pleased to have Benjamin with us as we head to preseason training in Arizona.”

Angoua spent the last six years playing in France with Guingamp and Valenciennes, racking up 138 starts in Ligue 1 since 2010. The defender has played 17 times for his national team.

He is the second center back added by the Revolution this week after the club announced the signing of Slovenia international Antonio Mlinar Delamea on Wednesday.
