City's new strip looks ready for a full on season

Football kits have come a long way over the last decade and Melbourne City have put their latest Nike jersey through some rather extreme tests to prove it's up to scratch.

City duo Dario Vidosic and Nathaniel Atkinson were flown by Etihad Airways to Abu Dhabi recently as they put their latest kit through the ringer.

From a speed test on the world's fastest rollercoaster at Ferrari World, a wet weather experiment at a water park to a measure of durability on dunes - City's kit looks more than ready to be put through its paces this season. 

Warren Joyce's side fell painfully short in their last campaign, finishing the regular season third before losing a semi-final to Newcastle Jets 2-1.

City have had a productive off-season to date travelling to India for a friendly tournament and making a number of key signings including that of former Rangers striker Michael O'Halloran.
