The South Africa international has been a free agent since his release from Turkish side Konyaspor at the end of last season

Kaizer Chiefs have officially announced the signing of Lebogang Manyama on a free transfer.

Manyama recently parted ways with Turkish outfit Konyaspor just a season after joining them from Cape Town City.

He had been linked with a possible return to City, while Mamelodi Sundowns and SuperSport United were also believed to be keen on his signature.

However, the player has opted to sign for Amakhosi, who are long time admirers of his talent.

A few years ago, Chiefs came close to signing Manyama from Ajax Cape Town, but despite the two teams agreeing on a deal then, the player opted to join Matsatsantsa.

The Glamour Boys took to their social media to unveil Manyama.

According to the club, Manyama signed a three-year deal, which means he will be at Naturena at least until June 2021.

Speaking to the Amakhosi website after putting pen to paper, the 27-year-old attacker said: “It’s a dream come true.”

“I have supported Chiefs from a young age. I grew up on the same street as Brian Baloyi in Alexandra and that’s how I fell in love with the club," he said.

Manyama said he intends to help Chiefs win trophies. The Soweto giants last won a major trophy in 2015 under the tutelage of Stuart Baxter.

“I now want to help the club win trophies and to achieve glory, because that’s what the Kaizer Chiefs brand represents to me,” concluded Manyama.
