Two Kenyan strikers, John Makwata and Jesse Were sent a statement of intent to Harambee Stars coach Sebastien Migne with a goal each over the weekend.

The duo were omitted by Migne from the Harambee Stars squad that played Swaziland and Equatorial Guinea, but the strikers inked their names into the scoresheet in the Zambian Super League.

Were scored in Zesco United's 3-1 victory against Kabwe Youth Academy FC at the Levy Mwanawasa Stadium.

Were shot Zesco to the lead in the third minute after receiving a pass from Lazarous Kambole who scored a third to add to Lamek Banda’ second.

At the same stadium, Makwata helped Builcon beat Red Arrows 3-2 to move to 10th on the log with 18 points.
