Gor Mahia coach Dylan Kerr claims that rivals AFC Leopards desperately cried to play visiting English side Hull City.

According to Kerr, its K’Ogalo which was supposed to date Hull City without necessary playing another determining game against Ingwe.

“Gor Mahia is the best club in Kenya. By winning the league last year it means we are the ones who should play Hull. I know Hull City want to play Gor Mahia, I have talked to their manager but unfortunately we have to play this game so as to prove that we are the best team.”

The Englishman is apoplectic of fixture congestion needing to play AFC Leopards on Tuesday at Afraha Stadium in Nakuru just four days before playing their first Group stage match against Rayon Sports in Kigali.

“We have a very important game ahead in Rwanda and we need to get the best line up for us to do well.”

Fresh from a 2-2 draw against Chemilil Sugar on Wednesday in Kericho, the club will be seeking to maintain their unbeaten run in the league against second placed Mathare United on Sunday before another showdown in Nakuru against AFC Leopards on May 1.

The team will then travel to Kigali for their Caf Confederation Cup opener against Rayon Sports on May 6.
