Gor Mahia have made an approach to sign French coach Didier Gomes Da Rosa, Goal can reveal.
K’Ogalo are in the market to sign a foreign coach following the resignation of Brazilian Ze Maria last week. A top source close to the Frenchman has confirmed that the club contacted him on Monday with an offer of Sh500, 000 a month salary.
“It is true that Gor Mahia have reached out to Da Rosa. It was through a phone call done by club chairman and they both discussed a number of things. All I can reveal is the salary they offered to pay him and nothing more. I am not sure whether the coach is ready to take the offer.
The source added, “Da Rosa is a good coach and it is not a problem for him to work in Kenya since he has already worked in Rwanda with Rayon Sports...in Cameroon with Cotton Sports and Algeria for Constantine where he was fired and since that he is in the second division league in Algeria.”
Apart from Da Rosa, Gor Mahia have been linked with a host of coaches including Luc Eymael (formerly of Polokwane City), Argentine Rolo Zapata and current Yanga FC coach George Lwandamina. Former international Zedekiah ‘Zico’ Otieno is currently handling the team on a caretaker role and lost his first match in charge – 2-0 – to Sofapaka on Sunday.
