The five-time world champions will be looking to put breathing space between them and the chasing pack as the most successful international team in football history.
But their preparations are far from complete, and the work ahead of the tournament will start in earnest next month after coach Tite confirmed his 23-man squad on May 14.
The players are scheduled to arrive at the Granja Comary in Teresopolis on May 21, where they will work for a week before departing for London on May 27.
Players involved in the UEFA Champions League final will meet their team-mates in Europe after the showpiece event in Kiev on May 26.
The Selecao will then base themselves in London at Tottenham Hotspur’s newly built ‘Lodge’ at Hotspur Way ahead of their friendly with Croatia at Anfield on June 3. After the match, they will return to London until June 8, when they depart for Vienna to take on Austria on June 10.
From there it’s on to Russia and their base camp, which will be the Swissotel Resort Sochi Kamelia, where they will remain until June 15th when they head to Rostov for their World Cup 2018 opener against Switzerland.
