After her debut outing in 2015, the 22-year-old goalkeeper is setting her sights on a second global stage appearance in June

Christy Ohiaeriaku says her topmost priority remains to make the Nigeria squad to the 2019 Fifa Women's World Cup in France this summer.

The former Nigeria U20 goalkeeper was part of the Super Falcons squad that won the African Women's Cup of Nations at Namibia 2014 and Ghana 2018 recently.

The shot-stopper earned her international debut for Nigeria in a 3-0 win over Romania as a substitute in China in January before her second outing against Austria at the 2019 Cyprus Women's Cup.

And the former IFK Ostersund goalkeeper, who was on Nigeria squad to Canada four years ago, vows to remain focused in her quest to make a back-to-back appearance.

“It is 100 percent where I want to be," Ohiaeriaku told Goal.

"I’m hoping to work hard and perform well enough to be invited for the upcoming camps that will be coming up this year.

"As a team, we've really improved a lot and I am confident we will be in good shape before the World Cup in France.

"Personally, I'm grateful to the coaches for the trust they have had in me so far. It has been a learning curve for me under the current coaching staff and I hope to keep improving.

"I learned a lot at the Chinese Tournament and the Cyprus Women's Cup. I am focused on giving my best and improving on my performance so as to be always ready when the opportunity comes.

“I was part of the last World Cup in Canada and that outing was one of the top moments of my career so far. To be in France is my target and I will work very hard to get there.”

Ohiaeriaku has featured at the Chinese Tournament and the 2019 Cyprus Women's Cup with Nigeria so far in 2019 and she will hope to do better to make the travelling party to France.
