South African football fans have called on the PSL to take action against Mhango, while Khune's man of the match performance earned him plaudits

It was an action-filled Wednesday night in the PSL as no less than three matches took place in different venues across the country.

Several players stole the limelight - some for the right reasons and others for all the wrong ones.

What Gabadinho Mhango did to Michael Morton during the league match betweeen AmaZulu and Bidvest Wits should be condemned in the strongest possible terms, but was Morton supposed to react the way he did?

Mhango was caught on camera spitting in Morton's face, and the AmaZulu midfielder, who had opened the scoring with a fine finish, angrily pushed him to the ground and subsequently received his marching orders for retaliation.

Morton has since apologized for his actions, but those who saw the incident backed him and called for the PSL to take action against Mhango.

At the Harry Gwala Stadium, Itumeleng Khune was the hero for Kaizer Chiefs as he produced a string of superb saves, including a penalty save to help his side beat Maritzburg United 2-0.

But he wasn't alone in the thick of things as Gustavo Paez came up with the two goals on the night.

Lastly, Baroka FC registered yet another emphatic win, beating Bloemfontein Celtic 2-0 away from home, and the spirit in the team is at all-time high.
