Dieumerci Mbokani fails Olympiakos medical

The 31-year-old attacker has failed his medical ahead of his proposed move to Piraeus

Congolese attacker Dieumerci Mbokani has reportedly failed his medical ahead of his proposed move to Olympiakos on Tuesday. Putting paid to Besnik Hasi’s quest to reunite with the striker who scored 19 goals for him during the pair's spell at Anderlecht.

Olympiakos had agreed a fee with Dynamo Kiev for the striker who spent the last two seasons on loan to Norwich City and Hull City respectively.

At Norwich, he scored seven times in 29 appearances whilst he struggled to make any impact with The Tigers in their relegation season, failing to score in 12 appearances.

Mbokani’s contract with Kiev runs until June 2019.

The Thrylos were keen to bring the 31-year-old to Greece for a season-long loan with an option to purchase. But according to Belgian newspaper Nieuwsblad the former Anderlecht forward has failed his medical in Athens on Tuesday which will see the proposed move fall through.

The news was seemingly confirmed by Greek football journalist Dimitris Vergos who posted the news to his Twitter page.
