The defender has been among the most improved players in the Kenyan Premier League but was left out of the 38-man squad

Gor Mahia captain Harun Shakava was among the players who were left out of the provisional 38-man squad named by coach Sebastian Migne.

The defender has been among the most improved players in the Kenyan Premier League, helping his team to a perfect run in and outside the country. Shakava has told Goal that he is very unhappy with the selectors.

“Honestly, speaking I am not happy with the team selection because it was not done based on performance. My case is different, there is a grudge that is held against me because last year I skipped the Cecafa competition.

"I also remember pushing for my allowances, and as I result the bosses did not like it; it is the main reason why I have been left out.

“This is a national team, let us always do things professionally, not to base our selections on unsporting events,” Shakava told Goal in an interview.

Kenya is preparing to host Ghana in an Afcon Qualifier on September 8.
