Bandari FC have fixed their eyes on a top three finish with seven games still left on the card.

The Dockers have picked up the form at the right time since the club saw a change of guard that ushered in a new regime led by Bernard Mwalala as the head of the technical bench.

Mwalala took over from Ken Odhiambo in June and the former Nzoia Sugar tactician has since turned around the fortune of Bandari who now occupy send place.

But with seven matches still to honour, Mwalala, who is joint second on points with Rodolfo Zapata’s AFC Leopards, is cognizant of the fact that the team may not maintain their 10-match unbeaten run, until October 7.

"We are in position two. The question is why should we let it go. We are trying our best to remain between second and third because Gor Mahia have already won the title," Mwalala told Goal in an exclusive interview.

“If we finish the league with the same momentum, then I think we can challenge for the title next season because now we know that we have the quality.’

Under Mwalala, Bandari have won five games including four in a row, with a draw against AFC Leopards in between.

The tactician who will face his former employers in the assignment has praised his players for their fluidity in adapting to change.

“The good thing with Bandari players is that they adapt so fast to new training styles. When I came I brought in some changes and they quickly adapted to my style.”

Bandari have 48 points, same as Ingwe though the Dockers enjoy a super goal difference.
