Both players are nursing groin injuries copped before and during their Caf Confederation Cup playoff tie with Al Hilal of Sudan and they are yet to recover.
Friday disclosed that he is yet to resume light training but that he is confident his teammates will get the job done against the People’s Elephant in Calabar on Sunday.
“I won’t be part of the game because I currently have a groin injury which I had in our home game with Al Hilal of Sudan,” he told Goal.
“I am recovering gradually but I have not resumed training yet. I have been told I might start light training on Monday but everything depends on the medical team after they look at me again.
“I overstretched during our game with Al Hilal when I was aiming at scoring a goal and it was my last involvement in the game. It was sad that we couldn’t get the goals that will take us to the group stage of the Caf Confederation Cup.
"We also have the Togolese, Kodjo (Dadzie) who will not be playing also for a similar injury. He sustained the injury during our preparation for the game with Al Hilal and he is yet to recover also.
“We are counting on the players that travelled to Calabar to give a good account of themselves and ensure we get a good result there. We have not been playing well recently and it will be bad if we are beating again irrespective of the opponents.”
