Akwa United and Katsina United have organised a series of friendly matches with a view to keeping their teams active because of the extended break brought about by the Nigeria Football Federation leadership tussle.
The Promise Keepers will face NYSC selected side on Wednesday evening before setting up another blockbuster fixture with Akwa Starlets on Friday in a repeat of their recent test game which ended 1-1 during a mid-season tournament organized in Uyo.
The club media department disclosed that both games will hold at the practice pitch of the Godswill Akpabio Stadium, Uyo and that they are part of the matches lined up to keep the team busy.
Abdu Maikaba’s Akwa United are doing everything possible to continue their impressive performance in the league this season and constant touch with test games will help them remain at peak level when the league season continues.
In a related development, Katsina United will also test the might of Road Safety of Abuja in a test game on Thursday at the Muhammadu Dikko Stadium, Katsina.
The Changi Boys are in their second season in the top flight and are currently seventh in the league table with 36 points from 24 games.
