Rushine De Reuck, Mamelodi Sundowns, December 2021
Masandawana secured their 11th win of the season in the PSL when they edged out SuperSport United 1-0 on Saturday night

GOAL rates the performances of the Masandawana players following their hard-fought victory over their Tshwane rivals

  • Denis Onyango, Mamelodi Sundowns, October 2021

    Denis Onyango - 7/10

Stepped up to be counted when he was needed.

Onyango pulled off a fantastic save to deny Ghampani Lungu in the first-half, before denying Thamsanqa Gabuza and Moses Waiswa after the restart, while also commanding his area very well.

  • Thapelo Morena of Mamelodi Sundowns, February 2020

    Thapelo Morena - 7/10

Tore the SuperSport defence to shreds with his movement and link-up play when pushed forward.

Morena also played well defensively as he contained Iqraam Rayners, who had a quiet game.

  • Lyle Lakay, Mamelodi Sundowns, November 2020

    Lyle Lakay - 6/10

Kept busy by Lungu, who gave him a hard time in the left flank.

Therefore, Lakay couldn't impact Sundowns' offensive movements like he usually does, but his delivery from set-pieces was good.

  • Rushine De Reuck, Mamelodi Sundowns, March 2021

    Rushine De Reuck - 8/10

The best player on the pitch as he produced an excellent performance.

De Reuck was impeccable in defence and he did well to contain the troublesome Gabuza.

Deservedly named Man of the Match.

  • Grant Kekana, Mamelodi Sundowns, November 2021

    Grant Kekana - 7/10

Solid presence at the back against his former side.

Kekana complimented De Reuck well in defence and he made some important clearances and interceptions.

  • Rivaldo Coetzee, Mamelodi Sundowns, August 2021

    Rivaldo Coetzee - 6/10

Mixed performance against their city rivals.

Coetzee was one of the brightest sparks for Downs in the first-half, but his influence waned after the restart, with his mishit passes putting his side under pressure.

  • Sphelele Mkhulise of Mamelodi Sundowns.

    Sphelele Mkhulise - 6/10

Also started well as he carried balls from midfield into attacking areas and combined well with his teammates.

However, Mkhulise's influence waned as the game progressed and he was replaced by Mothobi Mvala.

  • Themba Zwane, Mamelodi Sundowns, October 2021

    Themba Zwane - 7/10

Flourished in his role as a playmaker.

Zwane's incisive passes unsettled the SuperSport defence and he grabbed an assist after his delightful pass sent Peter Shalulile through on goal.

  • Thabiso Kutumela, Mamelodi Sundowns, December 2021

    Thabiso Kutumela - 6/10

Looked sharp in the opening stages of the game as he attacked the Matsatsantsa defence with speed.

However, Kutumela picked up an injury and he was substituted in the 29th minute and he was replaced by Gaston Sirino.

  • Neo Maema, Mamelodi Sundowns, November 2021

    Neo Maema - 6/10

Made some good passes and forward runs as one of the front three attackers.

However, Maema looked tired after the restart and he was replaced by Mothobi Mvala.

  • Peter Shalulile, Mamelodi Sundowns, December 2021

    Peter Shalulile - 7,5/10

His directness caused problems galore for the SuperSport defence throughout the game.

Shalulile timed his runs into the hosts' box very well and he scored with a good finish to take his tally to 12 league goals.

  • Mamelodi Sundowns v Orlando Pirates, Gaston Sirino

    Gaston Sirino - 6/10

Burst into life after the restart having endured a quiet first-half.

Sirino played some defence-splitting passes and he tracked back to help his teammates defend.

  • Mothobi Mvala of Mamelodi Sundowns.

    Mothobi Mvala - 6/10

Came on in the 75th minute and he imposed himself in the middle of the park.

Mvala helped Downs regain control of the game and he nearly scored with a thunderous shot which narrowly missed the target with goalkeeper Boalefa Pule rooted to the ground.

  • Ricardo Nascimento, Mamelodi Sundowns, November 2020

    Ricardo Nascimento - N/A

Introduced in the 90th minute and it was too late to warrant a rating.
