Former Manchester United striker Dimitar Berbatov believes his old club should target Mason Mount this summer.

Former Watford captain Troy Deeney has revealed he turned down a lucrative offer to join Celtic before his move to current club Birmingham.

The 34-year-old went to St Andrews in 2021 after being relegated with the Hornets, for whom he was a stalwart of more than a decade's service. Speaking to Kammy and Ben's Proper Football Podcast, this is what he said: 

"When I parted ways at Watford, there were options to go to Celtic, Middlesbrough, abroad or Birmingham.

Manchester United could look to hijack Chelsea's permament move for Joao Felix in the summer, according to media reports in Spain.

Chelsea were unable to agree a permanent clause when snaring Felix on loan from Atletico Madrid in the summer, but are reportedly keen to sign him on a longer deal.

United missed out on Felix in January, but, according to Spanish newspaper AS, they are ready to try again for the Portuguese forward at the end of the season.

Leicester City are interested in PSG's Renato Sanches as they view him as a replacement of Youri Tielemans who is likely to leave the club after his contract ends in the summer, according to JeunesFooteux.

The Portuguese has a contract with the French champions until 2027 and it remains to be seen how much PSG demands as a transfer fee for the midfielder who is struggling to get minutes at Parc des Princes.

Manchester United are reportedly set to pip Chelsea to the signing of highly-rated Watford left-back Harry Amass, according to the Evening Standard.

The report states that the Manchester club are in advanced talks with the 16-year-old and recently celebrated a breakthrough in negotiations.

Highly-rated Celtic Vigo midfielder Gabri Vega would snub a move to the Premier League in the hope of holding out for a move to Spanish giants Real Madrid.

That's according to journalist Alberto Pereiro, who told Onda Cero (via Fichajes): “Gabri Vega wants to go to Real Madrid. It seems that he has already told his entourage that he doesn’t want to go to the Premier League. His clause is €40m.”

Brighton chief executive Paul Barber revealed the club did not accept Arsenal's bids for Moises Caicedo as they are aiming for their best-ever finish in the top flight.

Speaking to The Beautiful Game Podcast, Barber said: “For us in January selling Moises was not a good move. He was one of our best players at the beginning of the season and we were in a great position in the league, still in the FA Cup and there was a lot of football to play.

“We want to try and achieve our best-ever finish in the Premier League and if we do that there is a chance that we could qualify for European competitions. The stakes for us in the second half of the season and Moises was a big part of that.”

Barcelona could look to mutually terminate the contract of Jordi Alba as they look to lower their wage bill and focus on new signing, according to SPORT.

The full-back will net a salary of €38m next season, including deferred wages, which puts him in the bracket as one of the highest-earners in Europe. The Catalan club have to reduce the wage bill by more than €200m if they want to sign players according to the FFP rules of La Liga.

AC Milan might part ways with Rafael Leao in the summer if the striker refuses to sign an extension, according to Calciomercato via Sky Sports.

Milan have offered him €6m (£5.3m) per season plus bonuses that will take it up to €7m (£6.1m) but the Portuguese wants a fixed wage of €7.5m (£6.6m). The Rossoneri don't want to lose him for free in 2024 and are willing to sell him in the next transfer window if they fail to convince him to sign an extension.

Bayern Munich starlet Ryan Gravenberch is among Liverpool's midfield summer shortlist, reports journalist James Pearce.

As part of their ongoing battle to reduce their wage bill to within La Liga guidelines, Barcelona could mutually terminate Jordi Alba's contract in the summer, according to Spanish outlet SPORT.

Despite not holding a starting position in Xavi's current side, Alba boasts a salary of aroun €38 million per season, including deferred wages, making him among Europe's highest earners.

The Spaniard had previously claimed he would take a wage cut if necessary, telling MARCA last month: "I have a year left on my contract, and if necessary, I’m willing to reduce my salary. It’s the club’s decision, and I’ve always helped when they’ve asked me to do so."

Bayern Munich are planning to hold talks with defender Benjamin Pavard over a new contract after their Champions League quarter-final against Manchester City.

That's according to the player's agent, who told Tuttomercato: "A lot has changed since Nagelsmann moved him from right-back to his original position at centre-back. In his position, he has rediscovered serenity and is happy. I can say that after the two important matches in the Champions League, we’ll meet and talk about it, but the relationship with coach Nagelsmann is excellent. Benjamin himself has confirmed it.”
