Commentary

West Ham start their Europa Conference League campaign with a win, albeit one that will be overshadowed by events elsewhere. That's all for now. Goodbye.
West Ham made hard work of this game, but they fully deserve their victory. The Londoners had almost two-thirds of possession and 20 shots on goal, 14 of them in the box. They top Group B for now. FCSB weren't that bad but were blown away in the second half. On another day, the Romanians might have got a result.
West Ham have come from behind to put three past FCSB! The Hammers laboured at first, going 1-0 down in the first half. However, the introductions of Bowen and Antonio at half-time changed the game as both players went on to score, as did Emerson in between.
90' + 6' FULL-TIME: WEST HAM UNITED 3-1 FCSB
90' + 5' Paqueta has one last shot blocked, and that's it!
90' + 4' FCSB embark on a rare attack. Radaslavescu's dipping shot is easily caught by Areola.
C. Dawson
A. Ogbonna
West Ham United
90' + 2' West Ham substitution. Dawson takes Ogbonna's place at centre-back.
90' + 1' There will be six more minutes of this. FCSB will make one last round of substitutions.
E. Rădăslăvescu
R. Oaidă
FCSB
90' + 1' The booked Oaida's game is over too. On comes Radaslavescu.
B. Rusu
F. Coman
FCSB
90' + 1' FCSB's captain Coman heads off. Rusu replaces him for the final minutes of this match.
Pablo Fornals
Assist
West Ham United
90' + 1' Fornals wasted no time in finding Antonio there, and his fellow substitute did the rest. West Ham have made their strength in depth show with their introductions from the bench.
M. Antonio
Goal
West Ham United
90' GOAL! WEST HAM UNITED 3-1 FCSB! Antonio gets the goal he deserves! The Jamaican forward latches onto Fornals' pass and dribbles into the box at speed before lashing the ball past Tarnovanu. He has been a menace since coming on.
D. Haruţ
J. Dawa
FCSB
87' Here is that FCSB change. Harut, a defender, replaces Dawa.
86' Emerson collapses to the turf with cramp after seeing off an FCSB attack. The visitors will now make a change or two.
84' Antonio makes a hash of a decent cross, miskicking the ball. No matter! The striker's introduction has undoubtedly helped swing this game in West Ham's favour.
R. Oaidă
Yellow Card
FCSB
82' West Ham win their 10th corner of the game. It is cleared before Oaida is shown a yellow card for a reckless tackle.
80' Fornals has the time and space to rifle the ball towards the bottom left corner. Again, Tarnovanu is up to the task of stopping it. If FCSB concede a third goal, they are surely sunk.
78' Cordea's shot is blocked and FCSB get a corner. West Ham counter from it, and Fornals shoots from range. Tarnovanu drops low to save, and Antonio's shot on the rebound is also kept out by the FCSB keeper!
76' West Ham nearly score a third goal as Paqueta fires wide of the right-hand post from the left of the box. FCSB suddenly look shaky.
M. Antonio
Assist
West Ham United
74' Antonio probably didn't mean that assist. No doubt he would have liked to shoot himself, but West Ham won't care! It took a while, but they've managed to turn the game around! Those three half-time substitutions have done the trick.
Emerson
Goal
West Ham United
74' GOAL! WEST HAM UNITED 2-1 FCSB! West Ham don't score from the corner, but do shortly after! Antonio makes a nuisance of himself in the box, latching onto a shanked clearance. FCSB can't clear and Emerson arrives on the scene to smash the loose ball past Tarnovanu!
72' West Ham scored with their first shot on target. Bowen and Antonio have given them added impetus, as the pair combine to earn the hosts another corner.
Octavian Popescu
D. Olaru
FCSB
70' Popescu comes on for FCSB too. He replaces Olaru.
D. Miculescu
A. Compagno
FCSB
70' FCSB respond to their lead being wiped out. Miculescu replaces Compagno.
J. Bowen
Penalty Goal
West Ham United
69' GOAL! WEST HAM UNITED 1-1 FCSB! Bowen steps up and smashes the penalty confidently into the top right corner of the net. Tarnovanu has no chance of reaching it.
Pablo Fornals
M. Cornet
West Ham United
68' Fornals comes on for Cornet, who is in no fit state to continue. Bowen will take the penalty kick for West Ham now.
67' Cornet is escorted off the pitch. He is thankfully able to walk, but he looks groggy. Antonio signals for his team-mate to be substituted.
Ș. Târnovanu
Yellow Card
FCSB
66' Tarnovanu is booked for his clumsy challenge on Cornet. He will face a penalty shortly.
65' PENALTY FOR WEST HAM! Cornet challenges for a throughball and is taken out by Tarnovanu. Both players land badly, especially Cornet who has taken a whack to the head. Tarnovanu soon gets to his feet, but Cornet is in some difficulty.
63' Emerson will take this free-kick. It's lofted in and headed away by Dawa.
62' Cornet's free-kick isn't great, failing to beat the first man. West Ham are soon back on the attack though, and Antonio gets the better of Dawa again, buying another free-kick in a similar position.
J. Dawa
Yellow Card
FCSB
61' Dawa's booked for his tactical foul on Antonio.
61' Antonio shrugs off Dawa's challenge to power down the left for West Ham. The Jamaican forward eventually goes down to earn the hosts a promising free-kick.
60' Ogbonna is penalised for wrapping his arms around Compagno. FCSB take the free-kick quickly. Kehrer clears Oaida's whipped cross.
58' Cordea is still looking lively. FCSB's goalscorer powers forward on the counter, cuts onto his left foot and shanks wide of the left-hand post.
56' Emerson jinks inside near the halfway line and is bundled off the ball. FCSB end up with a throw-in inside West Ham's half.
Emerson
Yellow Card
West Ham United
54' Emerson tackles Cordea unfairly and is shown a yellow card. Moyes remonstrates with the fourth official.
52' West Ham are looking more purposeful now, but FCSB are still posing a threat. Areola intercepts a pass from Cretu.
50' Emerson shoots from deep. The West Ham left-back cannot keep his effort down though.
48' Cordea stands over the free-kick and floats it towards the penalty area. West Ham can't clear it first time and FCSB get a few hopeful shots away, but the hosts block them and get their act together soon enough.
A. Ogbonna
Yellow Card
West Ham United
47' Ogbonna gets booked early in the half for a bad challenge on Edjouma.
46' West Ham get the second half going. Let's see whether they improve after that trio of half-time changes.
J. Bowen
S. Benrahma
West Ham United
46' Last to come on for West Ham for now is Bowen. Off goes the quiet Benrahma.
Lucas Paquetá
M. Lanzini
West Ham United
46' Lanzini is the next West Ham player to get the half-time hook. Paqueta is his replacement.
M. Antonio
G. Scamacca
West Ham United
46' West Ham shake things up by making a few changes. Antonio replaces Scamacca, who had a poor first half.
West Ham had seven shots inside the box in the first 45 minutes here, but didn't test FCSB's goalkeeper Tarnovanu once. Moyes might be tempted to bring on another striker in the second half with Scamacca so far misfiring. FCSB are well-drilled but don't look invincible by any means.
A soggy, subdued first half at the London Stadium comes to an end. The visitors FCSB lead thanks to Cordea's cool far-post finish. West Ham have enjoyed plenty of the ball but have been wasteful with it, especially their Italian striker Scamacca. They need to sharpen up in the second half. More to come!
45' + 2' HALF-TIME: WEST HAM UNITED 0-1 FCSB
45' + 1' Areola races out of the penalty area to punt a dangerous FCSB throughball out of play. It is the last real act before the half-time break.
45' Cordea teases Emerson and elects to pass back inside to a team-mate, but it is the wrong decision. Cornet darts down the left and cuts the ball back for Benrahma, whose shot is quickly closed down. There will be two additional minutes at the end of this half.
43' Kehrer jumps into an aerial challenge and lands awkwardly. The physios enter the pitch to examine the German.
42' Scamacca bursts in behind the FCSB defence but drags his shot wide of the left-hand post! Moyes winces. That was a poor attempt by the Italian.
41' West Ham keep on winning corners, but they're not leading to anything. This latest one is headed off-target by Scamacca.
M. Cornet
Yellow Card
West Ham United
39' Cornet picks up the game's first yellow card for a reckless tackle.
38' Scamacca gets sight of goal in the aftermath of the corner, but the Italian's header whistles over the crossbar.
36' West Ham try to recover quickly by forcing another corner. They have had tons of the ball, but haven't had a shot on target yet. FCSB have had three.
D. Olaru
Assist
FCSB
34' Olaru created that goal with a lovely swish of his left foot after Coman had slipped him into the box. West Ham have been the more proactive side, but find themselves behind!
A. Cordea
Goal
FCSB
34' GOAL! WEST HAM UNITED 0-1 FCSB! It's first blood to the Romanians! Cordea latches onto Olaru's first-time cross to finish unmarked at the far post. West Ham are guilty of switching off.
33' FCSB make progress down their left. Coman rolls Olaru into a dangerous position and...
31' FCSB are slowly but surely edging into the game. West Ham have been stuck in their own half for a while.
29' Chance for FCSB! Areola makes an excellent save to deny Cordea's header from a cross. West Ham have been warned.
27' Cornet's snap shot is blocked by Dawa. It is another West Ham corner. This one causes some confusion in FCSB's box. It eventually lands to Lanzini who fires wide from distance.
25' West Ham's latest corner comes to nothing. FCSB aren't threatening much, but they're proving hard for the hosts to break down.
23' West Ham make progress down their left and force another corner. The Londoners have had 78.6 per cent of possession so far.
21' Scamacca slaps his hands together in frustration after firing nowhere near the target from range. Moyes shouts some advice to his players from the technical area.
19' Scamacca blasts a hopeful shot into a defender from the centre of the box. Rice picks up possession further out. The West Ham captain has a pop at goal and his effort bounces wide of the left-hand post.
17' Emerson and Ogbonna dither over an FCSB cross from the left, allowing the visitors to force a corner. From it, Compagno heads over the crossbar.
15' Cretu wags a finger at the referee as he halts Cornet's run down the wing, giving West Ham a free-kick. Lanzini's ball in isn't the best and is easily headed away.
13' FCSB try to construct an attack through Cordea down the right, but it breaks down as the referee's whistle blows.
11' Olaru heads a throw-in out for another West Ham corner. FCSB clear the corner, but this is good pressure from the hosts.
10' Play is stopped as Cornet took an accidental kick to the face from his team-mate Scamacca during that last West Ham corner. After some treatment, Cornet is good to go again.
8' West Ham get another early corner. Tarnovanu flaps at Lanzini's delivery but gets it away from danger.
7' Benrahma jinks inside from the right, creating space for Coufal to fling a cross towards the far post. FCSB manage to deal with it.
6' Dawa makes a sliding block as Benrahma lets rip at goal. West Ham are awarded their first corner of the game.
4' Coufal heads away an FCSB cross from the right. The ball soon comes back to Compagno, who shoots from the edge of the box and gives Areola a simple save to make.
2' Tarnovanu claims a routine cross into his box from the left. West Ham are getting settled on the ball early on.
1' There's a delay to kick-off as the players stand on the centre circle, and the supporters applaud in memory of the late Queen Elizabeth. After a minute or two, FCSB get the game underway.
This will be the second meeting between West Ham and FCSB in Europe. The Romanians progressed in the second round of the 1999-2000 UEFA Cup thanks to a 2-0 aggregate win. West Ham have failed to win any of their seven meetings with Romanian sides. Maybe, that will change here.
There are three changes to FCSB from their last league outing, a 3-1 away defeat to Farul Constanta. Edjouma, Oaida and Cretu are the incomers.
West Ham boss David Moyes makes seven changes to his team from their 2-1 loss to Chelsea in the Premier League. The Hammers' captain Rice is one of the four players to start again here. Emerson, Kehrer, and Coufal are the other three.

West Ham's first opponents in Group B are the Romanian side FCSB, who have reached the main round of a UEFA competition for the first time since 2017-18. They reached the last 32 of the Europa League back then, and will be hopeful of bettering their performance this time.
West Ham kick off their Europa Conference League campaign in sombre circumstances just hours after the death of Queen Elizabeth II. Following their Europa League campaign last season, the Londoners will no doubt remember the start of their second ever appearance in a European group stage.
