Commentary

Spain host the Czech Republic next, while Switzerland welcome Portugal. It looks like it'll be between La Roja and Portugal to top the group. The Swiss, meanwhile, are at risk of relegation. That's all for now. Goodbye!
The three points lift Spain to second in Group A2, two points behind Portugal who've beaten the Czechs 2-0. Enrique's men kept their cool when under pressure and got their reward. Switzerland stay pointless at the bottom of the group, four points behind the Czechs. They've failed to score in two of their three defeats.
Spain have picked up their first victory in Group A2 by edging past seething Switzerland! Sarabia's first-half strike proved to be enough for the visitors, who controlled the game for the most part. The Swiss threatened in spells, but never consistently enough to make a comeback.
90' + 4' FULL-TIME: SWITZERLAND 0-1 SPAIN
90' + 3' Asensio's caught offside, giving Switzerland one last chance to send the ball forward. Sow gets a free shot from the centre of the box, and Alba bravely blocks to concede a corner. There's no time to take it though as the referee blows his whistle. Switzerland are furious, surrounding the official who calmly points at his watch. That's it!
D. Sow
Yellow Card
90' + 2' Sow picks up an immediate yellow card for an aggressive challenge on Soler. Switzerland are running out of time.
90' There'll be three more minutes of this. That's enough time for Switzerland to grab an equalising goal if they can create the right opportunity.
D. Sow
R. Rodríguez
89' Switzerland substitution. Their left-back Rodriguez goes off. Sow, a midfielder, comes on.
H. Seferović
Yellow Card
89' Sow climbs over the back of Koke to hand a timely free-kick to Spain. Xhaka's booked for his negative reaction to the decision.
88' Spain are suddenly making things difficult for themselves. A slip at the back allows Seferovic to get in behind and cannon a shot against a defender.
86' Chance for Switzerland! Simon races way out of his box to beat Seferovic to Sommer's long-range pass, but he doesn't win the ball and Spain are in trouble! Embolo wastes no time in lofting it towards goal. Spain breathe a sigh of relief as it bounces just wide.
84' Seferovic gives Okafor a piece of his mind for playing the wrong pass into the middle. Switzerland may be starting to accept their defeat.
82' Asensio almost seals the victory for Spain, blasting straight into Sommer's arms from the left of the box. Apart from the 10 minutes straight after half-time, Switzerland haven't really threatened to change the state of things anyway.
Carlos Soler
Marcos Llorente
80' Meanwhile, Spain make a late substitution of their own. Llorente goes off. Soler comes on.
H. Seferović
X. Shaqiri
80' Shaqiri trudges off the pitch too. The Benfica striker Seferovic comes on for Switzerland.
F. Frei
M. Akanji
79' Switzerland are pushing for the equaliser. Akanji heads off. The Basel midfielder Frei comes on.
79' Spain wisely keep the ball from the corner, winning a free-kick near the halfway line as Shaqiri's caught offside. Switzerland are going to make more changes.
77' Llorente latches onto Azpilicueta's pass down the right to dart towards the byline. Xhaka slides in to concede a corner.
75' Switzerland are stringing a few passes together, but Spain aren't letting them pass the halfway line. The hosts are running out of time to find an equaliser. They need to test Simon more first.
Koke
Gavi
73' The tenacious teenager Gavi heads off. Koke is his replacement in midfield for Spain.
Marco Asensio
Álvaro Morata
73' Morata's worked hard up front. Asensio replaces him in Spain's forward line.
72' Spain are preparing a few more substitutions. Their thoughts may have started turning towards protecting what they have.
70' After surviving that spell of Swiss pressure at the start of the half, Spain have regained control. Gavi buys a throw-in for the visitors down their left.
68' Morata takes on Switzerland's defence by himself, reaching the box before finding himself at too tight an angle to shoot. The Spain striker decides to cross instead. Akanji gets to it first.
M. Akanji
Yellow Card
67' The game's getting increasingly stretched as we enter the final quarter of the match. Tempers flare as Akanji trips Morata. The referee books the Swiss centre-back for one foul too many.
65' Chance for Spain! The ball runs free for Llorente who lashes high and wide from the edge of the box. Simon's called into action up the other end of the pitch, smothering a Swiss throughball.
N. Okafor
M. Aebischer
63' Aebischer's the next Swiss player to make way. Okafor takes his place in central midfield.
Dani Olmo
Pablo Sarabia
63' That's Sarabia's last act of the game. Spain's goalscorer leaves the pitch. Olmo replaces him.
R. Steffen
S. Zuber
63' Now it's Switzerland's turn to make changes. Steffen replaces Zuber first.
61' Sarabia's set free down Spain's left as Switzerland's defensive line gets caught upfield. The hosts recover quickly to block Sarabia's eventual shot from the edge of the box.
60' Spain's free-kick doesn't lead to much. They still have the ball though, and their narrow lead.
X. Shaqiri
Yellow Card
59' Shaqiri catches Busquets on the foot in Switzerland's half. The little winger receives the game's first yellow card.
57' Spain welcome the chance to settle things down by keeping the ball for a while. The Swiss are now pressing higher up the pitch, making it harder for their opponents to play their way out of their half.
55' Zuber fires off another shot from distance. It's blocked. The momentum's with Switzerland though, and Shaqiri hangs up a cross from the byline for Zuber to reach. Simon catches it and is knocked over for his troubles.
53' Spain allow Shaqiri to jink inside on his favoured left foot and fire a dipping effort into the arms of Simon from outside the box. The visitors have got to be careful.
51' The corner's taken short. It proves to be the wrong decision as Akanji ends up handing Spain a free-kick.
50' Switzerland are suddenly looking more purposeful. Shaqiri darts down the wing and earns his team another corner.
49' Gavi isn't able to prevent Freuler from winning a corner down the Swiss right. Simon punches Shaqiri's ball in away. Spain clear at the second attempt.
47' The ball's stuck in midfield at the moment. Neither Spain nor Switzerland are managing to get anywhere.
46' Spain get the second half underway. Neither side has made changes at half-time.
Spain had 74 per cent possession in those opening 45 minutes. They're clearly technically gifted, if lacking in incision at times. Switzerland haven't had a shot on target yet. Spain will fancy their chances of extending their lead in the second half.
The players head in at the end of a quiet first half. It's been a game of few chances, but Spain look the much better side and deservedly lead through Sarabia's close-range toepoke. Switzerland have barely had a kick of the ball.
45' + 2' HALF-TIME: SWITZERLAND 0-1 SPAIN
45' There'll be two minutes of added time at the end of this first half.
44' Widmer powers forward from right-back. His early cross deflects out for a Switzerland corner. Comert runs onto Shaqiri's delivery and heads it high and wide.
43' Switzerland finally get the ball back, only for Llorente to tactically foul Embolo. The Borussia Monchengladbach arrives late on Pau Torres shortly after to give possession back to Spain.
41' Spain put together another long spell of possession. Akanji trips Morata from behind to concede a free-kick.
39' Gavi's in the wars at the moment. Xhaka cuts him down to size after the 17-year-old flicks the ball over the head of Shaqiri to surge away from his own box. The kid's some talent.
38' Akanji sticks out a leg and treads on the ankle of Gavi near Switzerland's corner flag. It's a forceful challenge that goes unpunished.
36' Gavi chases after a pass towards the byline but can't keep it in play without losing possession. Switzerland try to counter. Zuber's frustrated as the pass to him isn't right and Spain end up winning a throw-in.
35' Ferran Torres approaches the box and tries to fire a pass into the feet of Morata. The Swiss anticipate the move and cut it out.
33' Gavi slides in on Shaqiri and catches the Swiss winger. It's hard to believe that Gavi is just 17 years old.
31' Spain keep on passing the ball around. Not every trick they're trying is paying off as Comert aborts a one-two, but they're looking sharp.
29' Chance for Spain! Sarabia finds Alba to his left and skies the cutback after he ghosts into the box to get on the end of it. That should have tested Sommer at least.
27' Spain are looking very comfortable in possession. Switzerland can barely get near them.
25' Shaqiri swings the free-kick into the box with his left foot. It finds Embolo at the far post, who powers a header wide.
23' A Mexican wave has broken out already at Stade de Geneve. The game's not been that bad. Llorente is furious to trip Shaqiri and give a free-kick away just to the left of Spain's box.
22' Embolo goes up against Pau Torres off the ball and winds up winded. Play stops briefly to make sure the Swiss forward's OK.
21' Widmer tries to beat Alba down the wing but can't get past Spain's left-back.
19' Simon ventures just out of his box to punt upfield. Switzerland win possession but squander it when Comert's ambitious pass floats out of play.
17' Zuber wins a free-kick on the left wing as he's stopped by Gavi. Spain aren't letting Switzerland enjoy much time on the ball at all.
15' Spain have scored in their last seven Nations League games now. They never struggle to score even against the best opponents. Switzerland have conceded three goals in the first 15 minutes of their matches in the Nations League this season, more than any other team so far.
Marcos Llorente
Assist
13' That was great work by Llorente, who did well to keep his footing in the box. When he got his low cross off, Sarabia couldn't miss.
Pablo Sarabia
Goal
13' GOAL! SWITZERLAND 0-1 SPAIN! Llorente shrugs off a challenge to bustle into the right of the box. He centres the ball for Sarabia, who prods it home! The goal's checked by VAR for offside, and it stands!
11' Morata connects with a header from the centre of the box from Sarabia's cross. He can't keep it down though, and it loops well off-target.
9' Spain aren't giving the Swiss a sniff of the ball early on. Aebischer has no option but to barge Busquets over to stop the visitors' latest attack. Sommer claims the resulting cross into the box from the free-kick.
7' Switzerland aren't happy as SImon prevents a throw-in from being taken quickly. The hosts have a penalty shout as Pau Torres wrestles with Embolo in the box, but it's hopeful at best.
5' Spain are settling into their usual rhythm, pinging passes around. Gavi's penalised for tripping Shaqiri.
3' Spain win an early free-kick down their right. It's swung in and easily cleared by Switzerland. Morata's follow-up cross is headed away.
1' Switzerland get this game underway!
The teams are out on the pitch at Stade de Geneve. Switzerland are in their red home kit. Spain are wearing their away white strip.
Spain boss Luis Enrique also chooses to rotate his squad, making nine changes from their game against the Czech Republic. Simon and Gavi, who scored in that game, keep their places.
There are eight changes to Switzerland's starting lineup from that mauling by Portugal. Rodriguez, Xhaka and Shaqiri are the only players to start again here.

Spain salvaged a 2-2 draw away to the Czech Republic in their last Nations League match thanks to Inigo Martinez's 90th-minute strike. La Roja have drawn their first two matches in this season's Nations League but they'll be hopeful of picking up their first win here.
Switzerland's Nations League campaign hasn't gotten off to the best start as Murat Yakin's men remain winless in 2022. The Swiss sit bottom of Group A2 after two games, having suffered a 4-0 pummelling away to Portugal last time out. They now welcome Portugal's Iberian neighbours Spain to Geneva hoping to make amends.
