Commentary

That's all from an overjoyed Stadio Olimpico, so thank you for joining us and goodbye!
While Roma are bound for a semi-final tie against Bayer Leverkusen next month, Feyenoord will return to Eredivisie action at the weekend as they look to stride closer to their first league title since 2017.
Though it took a late equaliser and further goals in extra time, Roma make it through to the Europa League semi-finals at Feyenoord's expense thanks to a win inspired by substitute Paulo Dybala. Just back from injury, the mercurial forward stepped off the bench to unlock the visitors' determined defence and send the time into an additional 30 minutes, and victory was finally sealed by captain Lorenzo Pellegrini, who missed a penalty in last week's first leg. Once again, the Giallorossi end their Dutch counterparts' European dreams.
120' + 4' FULL-TIME: ROMA 4-1 FEYENOORD
120' + 2' A performer to the last, Mourinho orchestrates Roma's fans in a rousing chorus - he's not holding back here!
S. Giménez
Red Card
120' OFF! As expected, Gimenez is given his marching orders following the pitchside review, having committed an ugly foul on Mancini - that was pure frustration from the Feyenoord forward.
119' RED CARD? Losing his head, Gimenez rakes his studs down the leg of Mancini as the Roma defender attempts a clearance and the referee is asked to come across and assess the incident on his pitchside monitor. Surely there can only be one verdict.
Rui Patrício
Yellow Card
118' After taking too long over a goal-kick, Patricio is yellow-carded from a distance by the referee.
117' Dejected, Slot slams a water bottle down in the dugout, as he contemplates his team being eliminated from Europe by Roma for a second straight season.
115' Having put in a typically dogged shift, Matic is the unlikely figure breaking into the left side of Feyenoord's box on the counter, but it ultimately comes to nothing for the veteran midfielder.
113' Kokcu steps up to a 30-yard free-kick, but he anti-climactically thumps the ball straight at a fast-closing Dybala and it doesn't even travel as far as Roma's defensive wall. That sums Feyenoord's game up.
T. Abraham
Yellow Card
111' For a clear foul on Dilrosun, Abraham is shown a yellow card.
110' A VAR review gives cause for Pellegrini and company to hold their collective breath, but his goal is soon confirmed and the Olimpico again explodes with joy!
L. Pellegrini
Goal
109' ROMA FINISH! The Giallorossi's captain strikes! Dybala plays through Abraham, who then sees his 10-yard shot blocked by Bijlow, and Pellegrini is first to react, steering the ball home from close range and surely booking his team a slot in the Europa League semi-finals! It's 4-1 on the day; 4-2 on aggregate!
P. Dybala
Yellow Card
108' Apparently for time-wasting, Dybala is booked by the referee.
J. Dilrosun
M. Wieffer
105' Slot rings the changes for the second half of extra time. First, Trauner makes way for Dilrosun.
M. Kumbulla
S. El Shaarawy
105' Despite his crucial goal, first-half substitute El Shaarawy comes off. Kumbulla adds an extra body in defence.
M. López
Q. Hartman
105' Hartman is replaced by Lopez.
Roma are in touching distance of another European semi-final, following El Shaarawy's strike. Can they hang on to their lead after the break and see off the threat of a tiring Feyenoord?
105' + 2' HALF-TIME: ROMA 3-1 FEYENOORD
105' + 2' SAVE! Played in by Mancini, a low shot from Abraham is blocked by the diving Bijlow near his left-hand post! That was a decent chance to seal a place in the semis; Feyenoord breathe again!
E. Bullaude
G. Trauner
105' Substitution Gernot Trauner Ezequiel Eduardo Bullaude
105' Feyenoord seem a beaten side now, with Roma confidently retaining the ball inside their opponents' half. Slot has got to produce a game-changing team talk in a couple of minutes time.
103' Having progressed from each of their last three European ties when losing the first leg by one goal - including in this season's Europa League playoff round against RB Salzburg - Roma are now on the verge of doing it again!
T. Abraham
Assist
101' Controlling a low pass from Pellegrini, Abraham stays cool to pick out goalscorer El Shaarawy with a ball across the six-yard box.
S. El Shaarawy
Goal
101' ROMA ARE IN FRONT! The Serie A side go 3-1 up on the day and one goal ahead on aggregate. Pellegrini slips a ball through for Abraham in the box, and the English striker cuts it across for El Shaarawy to slide in and guide it past Bijlow! Are Roma finally taking charge of this quarter-final, or is there to be another twist yet?
98' A rare Feyenoord foray forward ends as Hancko tries a throughball, but Gimenez is caught offside.
96' OFF THE POST! A curling 25-yard effort from Dybala has Bijlow scrambling across his goal to palm the ball away for a corner. Then, from the set-piece, Ibanez heads against the right-hand post from close range! Feyenoord escape!
94' MISS! Slot has his head in his hands, as Gimenez loses his cool in the area and slashes a great chance over the crossbar with the goal gaping!
93' Pellegrini is now limping badly and may have to be withdrawn, as Roma's injury woes continue - first Abraham and Dybala in the away leg, then Wijnaldum was forced off earlier today.
91' We are back under way in Rome, following a rousing chorus from the home fans!
A thrilling conclusion to the first 90 minutes at Stadio Olimpico brings this quarter-final tie into extra time. Dybala's intervention from the bench unravelled Feyenoord's brave efforts to scramble aggregate victory over the line, and last year's Europa Conference League finalists cannot be separated over two legs this season. Roma were finally rewarded for a more bold approach during the second half, but can they now go on and claim a semi-final berth?
90' + 5' FULL-TIME: ROMA 2-1 FEYENOORD
90' + 4' SAVE! Bijlow keeps his side in it! Dybala again wriggles free on the left side of the area, then thumps a shot at goal from close range; the goalkeeper is equal to it, though!
90' + 1' Roma are not done yet - they want to win this before extra-time. Mancini sees an ambitious shot from outside the box blocked.
M. Pedersen
S. Szymański
90' Pedersen is now introduced in place of Szymanski.
L. Pellegrini
Assist
89' A clever pass from Pellegrini picks out Dybala by the left-hand post, and Roma draw level on aggregate.
P. Dybala
Goal
89' ROMA MAKE IT 2-2 IN THE TIE! Dybala makes the difference! Fresh from the bench, Roma's talisman pulls them level at the last, with a sharp turn and finish from Pellegrini's cute throughball. In the circumstances, it was a case of cool heads all round, and we are surely heading for extra-time!
88' Trauner is relieved when his attempted clearance inside the six-yard box hits Abraham but spirals behind for a goal-kick. There's not long left for Feyenoord to hold on now.
86' Ibanez is alert to cut out an early throughball by Kokcu from deep in midfield, as Feyenoord attempt to seal overall victory on the counter.
84' A flurry of Roma half-chances sees Dybala fire wide and Cristante head over from inside the area. The Giallorossi have not given up yet!
82' Following Paixao's crucial strike today, Feyenoord have now scored four goals in the last 15 minutes of Europa League games this season - the second-highest tally of all teams in this year's competition.
S. Szymański
Assist
80' After finding space for himself, Szymanski provides the cross from an inside-right position that sets up Paixao's headed goal.
Igor Paixão
Goal
80' FEYENOORD GO AHEAD IN THE TIE! Substitute Paixao puts the Dutch side in touching distance of the semi-finals! Stadio Olimpico is silenced when the Brazilian winger flicks in a near-post header from Szymanski's cross, and it's 2-1 to Feyenoord on aggregate!
Z. Çelik
C. Smalling
78' Celik now comes on for an increasingly rare appearance, as Smalling slowly makes his way to the sideline.
76' Though the Olimpico momentarily erupts with delight when Cristante steers the ball home from 10 yards, his 'goal' is immediately ruled out for a shove by Abraham - a fairly clear decision for the referee.
Danilo
A. Jahanbakhsh
74' Slot responds to Roma's changes, as Jahanbakhsh makes way for Danilo in Feyenoord's front three.
T. Abraham
A. Belotti
73' Mourinho is going for broke with a triple substitution. First, Belotti makes way for Abraham to arrive up front.
Ibañez
Diego Llorente
72' And finally, a straight swap at the back for Roma: Llorente is replaced by Ibanez.
P. Dybala
N. Zalewski
72' Zalewski is withdrawn too, as Dybala makes his return from injury.
70' CLOSE! Roma are pushing for a winner! El Shaarawy strides forward and has a shot deflected wide of the right-hand post. Then, from the corner, Smalling connects with a header and Mancini comes close to squeezing the ball into the bottom corner!
68' Wieffer now requires treatment from the medics, after he was struck on the head by the ball. He took quite a blow and looks fairly shaken as a result.
66' Kokcu is felled in midfield by a challenge from Belotti, as the two men contest the ball with legs outstretched. Following a brief spell on the turf, Feyenoord's captain is able to get back to his feet and continue.
Igor Paixão
O. Idrissi
64' A quiet game for Idrissi comes to an early end, as Paixao comes off the bench to replace him.
63' After a delay for an injury to Gimenez, the action is set to resume, and the away side are going to make their first change.
B. Cristante
Assist
60' Following a period when the ball bobbles around the Feyenoord box, Cristante deflects the ball into Spinazzola's path and the wing-back turns it home.
L. Spinazzola
Goal
60' ROMA LEAD! Hauling his team level on aggregate, Spinazzola scuffs a low shot across goal from Cristante's pass and sees it trundle into the bottom-right corner! It was not a thing of beauty, but the Giallorossi faithful don't care - the Olimpico goes wild! It's 1-0 to Roma on the day, and 1-1 overall: game on!
58' An untidy spell sees Feyenoord keeping their hosts at arm's length, and the Eredivisie leaders only have around half-an-hour to hold out for the aggregate win.
56' Roma's momentum has been quelled a little, and it is notable that both Dybala and Abraham are warming up close to the touchline - either Mourinho is sending a message or their arrival is imminent.
54' UEFA Cup winners in 1974 and 2002, Feyenoord are aiming to secure a first appearance in the Europa League semi-finals - their one previous run in the latter competition's knockout phase was ended by none other than Roma.
52' An inviting cross from the right by Zalewski somehow manages to evade several Roma players and trickles away to be cleared by the Feyenoord defence, but the home side are at least showing a little more urgency in the final third now.
50' A collective groan reverberates around the Olimpico as El Shaarawy gifts Feyenoord possession in midfield, when Roma had a good chance to strike quickly on the counter.
48' Feyenoord are withstanding some pressure early in the second half, as Smalling heads the ball into the six-yard box for Llorente, who is then penalised for a high boot on Trauner.
46' OFF THE POST! Pellegrini strikes the upright! Almost straight from the kick-off, Roma charge forward, and Zalewski's inswinging cross is turned against the left-hand post by their skipper from close range! It then bounces away to safety via Bijlow's thigh!
46' Roma kick off the second half of this second-leg clash, and we are back under way at Stadio Olimpico!
1' Two Feyenoord defenders, Hancko and Hartman, combine delightfully on the left side of Roma's area, but when the latter pulls the ball back for Gimenez to strike from close range, Mancini manages to get in the way.
The half-time scoreline shouldn't really come as a surprise: While Roma have now failed to score a first-half goal in eight of their 12 Europa League games this term, Feyenoord have stopped opponents from finding the net during the first half eight times - only Roma (nine) have done so more often!
There have been few clear-cut chances in a fraught first half, and after Roma's bright start their visitors have perhaps had the better of proceedings. Szymanski's close-range miss should instead have given a Feyenoord a two-goal advantage in the tie, but as things stand, a single goal for the hosts would take us into extra-time. Some extraordinary scenes on the touchline saw Roma's assistant manager sent off before the break, and with several players already on yellow cards it could be a tempestuous conclusion at the Olimpico.
45' + 6' HALF-TIME: ROMA 0-0 FEYENOORD
45' + 5' Following Smalling's long punt up from the back, El Shaarawy is caught offside, and it seems as though the first half will end goalless.
45' + 3' A more straightforward assignment for Patricio results in the Portuguese goalkeeper easily claiming a hopeful cross from the right by Jahanbakhsh. There are two minutes remaining of first-half stoppage time.
45' + 1' SAVE! More unconvincing goalkeeping from Patricio sees the stopper just about manage to divert Szymanski's powerful shot over the crossbar! He used his fists in the end, and at least concedes only a corner.
44' Another 25-yard free-kick from Pellegrini is unsuccessful; on this occasion the Roma captain strikes the defensive wall with his mishit effort, and his claims for a handball are ignored.
42' An awful attempt from almost 30 yards out sees Mancini miss the target by several yards, and the Roma defender woud have been better to clip the ball back into the box.
41' At the second attempt, Patricio gathers the ball at his near post, after Idrissi drives a shot from the left side of the box straight at him.
40' Having taken his time to line up the strike, Pellegrini now curls in a tame free-kick which is directed straight at the waiting Bijlow.
S. Giménez
Yellow Card
39' Gimenez is booked for his foul on Mancini.
38' Mancini rather exuberantly applauds the referee for awarding him a free-kick following an aerial challenge with Gimenez, and Roma have a potentially dangerous set-piece situation around 25 yards out from goal.
36' A flicked header by Cristante from outside the area causes no problems for Bijlow, who drops down to collect the ball comfortably. Since Pellegrini's early shot he has hardly been tested.
T. Wellenreuther
Yellow Card
34' Yellow Card Timon Janis Wellenreuther
Diego Llorente
Yellow Card
34' For his part in the set-to between players on both sides, Llorente becomes the first Roma player booked today.
33' Despite the officials' best efforts, the temperature in this game is boiling over! Remarkably, Gimenez is felled by a grab from one of Roma's coaching staff and some scuffles break out. Surely there will be consequences!
31' CLOSE! Pellegrini demonstrates great vision from the right-back position to release El Shaarawy down the centre. After the substitute races into plenty of space, he steers his shot from the edge of the box narrowly over Bijlow's crossbar!
29' Now on top, Feyenoord continue to turn the screw, and Smalling must react quickly to divert a firm 20-yard drive by Kokcu wide of the post.
27' After the VAR delay, Feyenoord finally sling their corner into the heart of Roma's area, but Matic is well placed to hack the ball clear.
25' PENALTY CLAIM DENIED! Alert covering from Llorente denies Szymanski a clear header at the back post, as the midfielder connects with an angled ball from the left. Feyenoord's appeals for a penalty due to handball are dismissed by the officials, though!
23' Though Spinazzola skips clear down the left flank before clipping the ball into the box, Feyenoord manage to clear the danger and continue to keep their hosts at bay. They have a lead to defend and are coping well enough in that regard.
S. El Shaarawy
G. Wijnaldum
21' More injury problems for the home side! Wijnaldum now drops to the turf clutching his hamstring and is unable to play on; El Shaarawy replaces him.
20' After receiving some treatment on the pitch, which sees the action halted, Cristante is cleared to continue and Roma start to line up their free-kick.
M. Wieffer
Yellow Card
18' For mistiming his tackle on Cristante in midfield and catching his opponent's shin with his studs, Wieffer is shown a yellow card. He would now miss the first leg of a semi-final.
16' A chorus of whistles echoes around Stadio Olimpico as the visitors enjoy their first prolonged spell of possession, and Hartman then steps forward to lash a low shot a few feet wide of Patricio's left-hand post.
13' SHARP STOP! Making a reaction save in the centre of his goal, Patricio denies Szymanski at close range, after the Feyenoord midfielder connects with a fierce low cross from Jahanbakhsh!
Q. Hartman
Yellow Card
12' For hauling over Belotti, an early booking puts Hartman on the back foot for the rest of the game.
11' Matic is penalised for a clear pull on Szymanski's shirt in midfield, and Feyenoord have a free-kick which eases the pressure a little.
9' It's all Roma so far, as Feyenoord are forced back to absorb their hosts' early pressure. They are accustomed to taking control in the Eredivisie, so it will be interesting how the Dutch side now respond.
7' JUST WIDE! Instinctively swinging his leg at a cross from the left flank, Cristante sends the ball scudding narrowly past the left-hand post with a sharp volley!
5' Already, Mourinho is spoken to on the touchline by the referee, and it is sure to be a passionately contested game on the benches as much as on the pitch.
3' SAVE! An early chance for Roma sees Pellegrini - seeking redemption for last week's penalty miss - test Bijlow at his near post, following a throughball by Belotti! The Giallorossi have started brightly.
2' There are no away fans present at the Olimpico today, as at De Kuip last week, but the atmosphere is emotionally charged nonetheless.
1' Feyenoord kick off, and we are under way in Rome!
The players are out on the pitch at a packed Stadio Olimpico, and kick-off is now just moments away!
Feyenoord, meanwhile, are unchanged from last week's encounter. The Dutch side welcomed back first-choice goalkeeper Bijlow from a wrist injury for the first leg and he starts again today. The visitors are captained from midfield by Kokcu, while Gimenez starts up front.
Roma forwards Dybala and Abraham were both forced off with injuries in Rotterdam and are only fit enough for the bench today, so Belotti leads the hosts' attack, with Wijnaldum and Pellegrini supporting from behind. Like Wijnaldum, wing-back Rick Karsdorp started out at Feyenoord, but he is the Giallorossi's only major injury absentee.

Victory last Thursday saw Feyenoord take advantage of Lorenzo Pellegrini's penalty miss to claim a first-leg lead via Mats Wieffer's volleyed finish, as the Eredivisie leaders took a significant step towards the semi-finals. Eliminating the team that denied them victory in last year's Conference League final would be particularly sweet for Arne Slot's side, who were 3-0 winners against Cambuur at the weekend to stay eight points clear at the top of the domestic standings. However, Feyenoord have lost six of their previous nine games in Italy - most recently versus Lazio in this season's Europa League group stage.
After a close contest in Rotterdam last week, Roma reconvene with Feyenoord in the Italian capital today, as the two teams battle it out for a place in the Europa League semi-finals. A 1-0 defeat at De Kuip saw last year's Europa Conference League winners lose to the club they beat in that competition's inaugural final, and they now have 90 minutes to make up that deficit back on home soil. Jose Mourinho's men won a third straight Serie A game without conceding last weekend, and their 3-0 win over Udinese puts them fourth in the table; down from third following a successful appeal by Juventus against their points deduction.
Hello and welcome to live coverage of today's Europa League quarter-final second leg between Roma and Feyenoord at Stadio Olimpico!
