Emirates Stadium

That's all for today, goodbye!
That's now 11 wins in a row for City in the Premier League and it takes them 11 points clear at the top of the table. It's the FA Cup up next for them, as they travel to Swindon Town. Arsenal couldn't hold on and they stay in fourth. They face Liverpool in the first leg of their EFL Cup semi-final on Tuesday.
City come from behind in the second half to beat 10-man Arsenal 2-1. It was a brilliant first half for the hosts with Saka putting them ahead. City weren't at their best for large parts of the game but found a way back into it after the break when VAR awarded them a penalty which Mahrez fired home. Gabriel received two yellow cards in two minutes, the first for scuffing the penalty spot before he blocked Jesus' run which saw him sent off. Rodri then scored the winner from close range in stoppage time to seal the three points.
90' + 7' Arsenal were pushing for a late equaliser, but City break away on the counter. Mahrez makes a good run through the middle but gets the ball caught under his feet in the penalty area and can't round it off for the visitors.
Bernardo Silva
Yellow Card
Manchester City
90' + 5' Silva kicks the ball away to stop Arsenal from taking a quick free-kick and he's booked for dissent.
Yellow Card
Manchester City
90' + 4' Rodri took his shirt off in celebration of his goal, so he's shown a yellow card.
Manchester City
90' + 3' RODRI SCORES! It's been coming, and City have finally taken the lead! It's a brilliant cross into the box by De Bruyne which White glances on as far as Laporte. He manages to block the Spaniard's shot, but it bounces straight to Rodri's feet. He coolly slots it past Ramsdale and into the bottom corner. 2-1 City!
90' + 2' Tierney trips Cancelo and City have a free-kick in a good position down the right. De Bruyne pulls it back to Cancelo on the edge of the D, but his low shot is blocked by Partey.
90' Smith Rowe is chasing a hopeful long ball upfield and there's a nervy moment for Ake as he tracks back towards his own goal. He puts it out for a corner, but it comes to nothing for Arsenal.
88' Cancelo floats another good cross into the box and Ake rises highest on the far side to nod it back across goal. Dias tries to get on the end of it, but backs into Ramsdale and the foul goes against him.
86' Rodri switches it out to Cancelo on the right, and he clips a good cross into the six-yard box. Gundogan has peeled away to the far post, but White heads it away from him. Sterling gets the rebound, but sends his low shot wide.
Mohamed Elneny
B. Saka
84' Final change for Arsenal now and it's their goal scorer, Saka, that's going off, with Elneny on in his place.
82' The Arsenal fans aren't happy with the referee as they think the decisions are going against them. Smith Rowe hooks it forward for Martinelli, but Laporte gets across to hold him off. The defender's arm goes up, but so does Martinelli's, and the game is allowed to carry on.
80' Arsenal are still staying very compact in their own box and frustrating City. The visitors are patiently working it upfield, with Silva teeing up Cancelo on the edge of the box. He tries to curl it into the far top corner, but it finishes high and wide.
78' CHANCE! Partey makes a great run down the left and the City defenders are reluctant to get out to him. He waits for Martinelli to get up in support before squaring it to him, but his first touch shows too much to Ederson and he sweeps it clear.
77' White's clearance is a good out ball for Saka down the right and he holds off Ake long enough to get into the box. He tries to curl a shot towards goal which is blocked by Laporte as a belated offside flag goes up.
75' Silva's run down the right of the box is blocked by Saka, but City keep hold of it with Mahrez touching it back through to Silva. He tries to whip in a cross with the outside of his boot, but it's straight into Ramsdale's gloves.
73' Cancelo gets the better of Tierney down the right and he pulls it back for Mahrez on the edge of the box. He skips away from White's challenge, but a heavy touch knocks it straight out of play.
E. Smith Rowe
A. Lacazette
71' Second change for Arsenal now as Smith Rowe comes on to replace Lacazette.
70' Arsenal are the first team in Premier League history to receive 100 red cards in the competition.
R. Holding
Yellow Card
68' De Bruyne is breaking for City and Holding tugs him back by his arm. There's not a lot in it, but he's booked.
67' Rodri tries to catch Arsenal out by playing an early throughball over the top for De Bruyne to chase. The Belgian wasn't on the same wavelength though and Ramsdale rushes off his line to collect it.
65' City break quickly again and Arsenal are scrambling back into their positions. It's rolled through for De Bruyne, but Holding does just enough to stop him from getting a shot away.
B. Saka
Yellow Card
63' Lacazette was fouled by Rodri and the Arsenal players are surrounding the referee asking why the Spaniard hasn't been booked. Saka's protests catch his attention and he's booked for dissent.
R. Holding
M. Ødegaard
63' It's Odegaard going off for Arsenal, and he's still arguing with the referee on his way off. Holding comes on in his place.
İ. Gündoğan
Gabriel Jesus
Manchester City
63' Both sides are making a change here, starting with City. Jesus goes off to boos from the Arsenal fans for his part in Gabriel's sending off, with Gundogan on for him.
61' Arsenal are trying to urge their team on, but the momentum has swung City's way now. Cancelo makes a good run down the right and curls a dangerous cross into the six-yard box, but Partey blocks it ahead of Jesus.
59' GABRIEL IS OFF! Just two minutes after receiving his first booking, Gabriel is given a second! Both of them are unnecessary yellows, with his second coming for blocking Jesus' run off in the centre circle. There's no need for the challenge and Arsenal are down to 10 men!
58' OFF THE LINE AND POST! Arsenal almost restore their lead! There's a complete mix-up between City's defenders and goalkeeper and Dias' header loops over Ederson and towards the line. Ake tracks back to clear it off the line but gifts it to Martinelli who smashes his shot against the post.
Gabriel Magalhães
Yellow Card
57' Gabriel is shown a yellow card for scuffing up the spot before Mahrez steps up to take the penalty.
R. Mahrez
Penalty Goal
Manchester City
57' MAHREZ SCORES! He had to wait a while to take the penalty after it was awarded, but he kept a cool head. It's a brilliant spot-kick as he sends Ramsdale the wrong way and fires his shot into the back of the net. 1-1!
56' The Arsenal fans and players are not happy with the referee after the replay of the penalty incident was shown on the big screen. There's some pushing and shoving amongst the players and the referee has to pull the captains away to have a word.
G. Xhaka
Yellow Card
55' Xhaka is called over, and he's shown a yellow card for the challenge he committed for the penalty.
55' PENALTY TO CITY! VAR had a look at the incident, and they've asked Stuart Attwell to go over to the monitor to have a look. Xhaka did have hold of Silva's shirt, and he just clipped him as well so the referee points to the spot.
53' PENALTY SHOUT! Silva dribbles his way into the box and he's trying to get away from Xhaka. The midfielder has hold of his shirt as Silva tumbles to ground, but much to City's frustration, he's waved back to his feet by the referee.
52' Since Arteta's first game in charge on Boxing Day in 2019, Arsenal have scored 36 Premier League goals via players aged 21 or younger - eight more than any other team.
50' Rodri slips as he goes to tackle Martinelli and he takes out the Brazilian, who crashes to the ground. The referee only points for a corner, which De Bruyne half-clears to Martinelli. He slices at the ball though, completely missing it.
48' City are knocking the ball around comfortably, but it's all in front of Arsenal still. Silva ends up giving the ball away and Saka breaks down the right, but three City defenders block his way into the box.
46' Arsenal get us back underway for the second half!
Guardiola didn't look happy as he made his way off the pitch for half-time and he'll be expecting a big improvement. His side were outplayed all over the pitch, and he might make a change to give them something different after the break. Arsenal's game plan has worked perfectly so far though, and they'll be hoping for more of the same.
Saka's goal gives Arsenal a 1-0 lead over City at half-time. It's been a great first half for the hosts, and they've caused City all sorts of problems. Martinelli saw an early chance smothered by Ederson before Saka nestled the opening goal in the bottom corner in the 31st minute. Martinelli came close to adding to the tally twice more before the end of the half, while City's best chance was glanced wide by Dias.
45' + 2' Sterling wins a free-kick and City have one last chance to put the ball in the box in the first half. It's a poor cross from Mahrez though and Lacazette heads it away.
45' City are patiently trying to work the ball upfield, looking to Mahrez down the right this time. He lifts it into Silva, who chips a cross onto the penalty spot for Sterling, but Gabriel is there to clear the danger for the hosts.
43' CLOSE! Another counter-attack for Arsenal almost ends in a goal! It's a brilliant run down the left from Martinelli and Cancelo just can't get a challenge in to win the ball back. The Brazilian fizzes a low shot across goal but it's just wide of the far post.
41' Rodri brings down Saka on the right, and Arsenal have a free-kick in a good position. Odegaard curls a cross into the middle, but it's too high for Tomiyasu and it bounces harmlessly out of play.
39' CHANCE! Saka tried to play a one-two with Lacazette but overhit the pass, so the Frenchman switches it out to Martinelli instead. He cuts inside and chooses to go for goal himself, whipping his effort just wide of the far corner.
37' Saka's goal was just the second first-half goal that City have conceded in their last 23 Premier League games.
35' Ake threads it through to Jesus in midfield, and he spins away from Xhaka before picking out De Bruyne down the left again. He cuts inside before trying to fizz a low cross into the box, but it's straight into Ramsdale's gloves.
33' Sterling is trying to inject a bit of urgency into City's play as he drives down the left, and he gets away from Tomiyasu. A heavy touch takes it away from him though and it goes out before he whips in his cross.
K. Tierney
31' Tierney makes another good run down the left and he curls a lovely, low cross straight into Saka's feet.
B. Saka
31' SAKA SCORES! It's another great counter from Arsenal as they switch it from right to left and Tierney has time and space to pick out a cross. He curls it into Saka who keeps his cool just inside the box to slot it past Ederson and into the bottom corner. 1-0 Arsenal!
30' It's slow from City as they play out from the back and Silva skips away from Partey before switching it out to De Bruyne on the left. He's not given any time by Tomiyasu though, and Arsenal break again.
28' Still, Arsenal push, but they can't find a way through. Martinelli runs into traffic on the edge of the box, but the rebound falls kindly for Lacazette. He has space to turn before he fires a shot straight at Dias.
26' White slices at a clearance to get it away from Sterling, but it ends up being a good ball to Odegaard through the middle. He works it out to Martinelli on the left again, but Sterling tracks back to stop it from reaching Lacazette.
24' City can't get out of their own box at the moment as Tierney gets it back down the left after his initial cross was cleared. He floats in another deep one, but it's too high for Saka, and Tomiyasu can't bring it down under pressure.
22' Silva is caught in possession deep in his own half by Tierney and Arsenal have another chance to counter. He lays it off to Martinelli, who has three to aim for in the middle, but his cross is straight against Cancelo.
20' Tomiyasu points to where he wants the ball and White chips a lovely pass straight into his feet. The right-back knocks it into the six-yard box with his first touch, but it's blocked ahead of Lacazette by Laporte.
18' City are dominating possession again and Arsenal are happy to sit back and let them keep it in their own half for now. Rodri slides in Jesus, who manages to poke it back to De Bruyne, but he whips his shot just wide of the far post from outside the box.
16' SAVE! Partey sweeps the ball out to Martinelli on the left and the City defenders are asking for an offside flag that doesn't come. He cuts inside and drills it at the near post from a tight angle, but Ederson smothers it.
14' CHANCE! City work it down the right this time and Sterling whips a brilliant cross into the near post. Dias is completely unmarked and gets the slightest of touches on it, but he sends it wide of the far post.
13' Sterling spins away from Tomiyasu's challenge, but Saka gets back to help out and between them, they manage to get the ball away from the winger. De Bruyne is following in, but he can only win a corner.
11' NO PENALTY! VAR has a look at the incident again, and it looks like Ederson just managed to get to the ball before he caught Odegaard. The referee's decision stands, and it's only a corner for the hosts.
10' PENALTY SHOUT! Arsenal go long again and Martinelli drives down the left before cutting inside. He squares it to Lacazette, who then tees up Odegaard. His first touch knocks him past Ake and the angle is getting tighter. Ederson slides in to take the Norweigan out, but the referee points for a corner.
8' De Bruyne glances Ederson's long clearance onto Sterling and he does brilliantly to hold off Tomiyasu before wriggling away from the follow-up challenge from the right-back. It's a poor cross from him after that though, and Arsenal break on the counter.
6' Partey nicks the ball off Rodri in midfield and knocks it back for White, who lifts a good pass over the top. Lacazette edges ahead of Dias, but Ederson rushes off his line to collect it.
4' CLOSE! De Bruyne plays a one-two with Silva from a corner before whipping a dangerous cross into the near post. Laporte misses it, but Jesus is waiting behind him. He flicks a header on, but he can't direct it on goal.
2' City are seeing a lot of the ball in the opening minutes, but Arsenal are making it difficult for them by closing them down high upfield. Saka is chasing Ake's backpass to Ederson, but the keeper just manages to clear his lines in time.
1' Silva gets the game underway for City!
The teams are coming out onto the pitch now, with kick-off just moments away!
Arsenal have lost their last nine Premier League games against City since a 2-2 draw in April 2017 - it's their longest-ever losing run against an opponent in their league history.
Pep Guardiola makes three changes to the side that beat Brentford on Wednesday. Rodri is fit again and is brought in along with Sterling and Mahrez. Grealish and Fernandinho start on the bench, while Phil Foden isn't in the squad.
Mikel Arteta isn't on the touchline today as he's self-isolating following a positive coronavirus test, so Albert Stuivenberg steps in. There's just one change from their win over Norwich last Sunday, with Tomiyasu returning after his own case of Covid-19. That means a move back to central defence for White, with Holding dropping to the bench.
MANCHESTER CITY SUBS: Luke Mbete, Fernandinho, Jack Grealish, James McAtee, Kayky Chagas, Cole Palmer, Zack Steffen, Kyle Walker, Ilkay Gundogan.
MANCHESTER CITY STARTING XI (4-3-3): Ederson; Joao Cancelo, Ruben Dias, Aymeric Laporte, Nathan Ake; Kevin De Bruyne, Rodrigo, Bernardo Silva; Riyad Mahrez, Gabriel Jesus, Raheem Sterling.

It's the first league game of the new year and City have a chance to move 11 points clear at the top of the table with a win here today. They're currently on a 10-match winning streak in the Premier League and are looking to keep their closest challengers at arm's length by extending that run. It was a dismal day for Arsenal when these sides met back in August as they were thrashed 5-0. They've turned things around brilliantly since then, and are currently on a five-game winning run in all competitions. They're in good form at home as well, with victories in each of their last five league games at the Emirates, keeping a clean sheet in each of the last four.
Hello and welcome to live coverage of the Premier League meeting between Arsenal and Manchester City at the Emirates!
