Masandawana are on the verge of recording their 12th league win in a row, but which Amakhosi players pose a threat to the PSL champions?

Kaizer Chiefs will be out to humble an in-form Mamelodi Sundowns side when the two sides meet at FNB Stadium on Saturday.
This will be the 54th league meeting between the two local football heavyweights in the Premier Soccer League era.
Chiefs have the upper hand in this rivalry having won 21 matches compared to Sundowns' 17 victories, while 15 games ended in draw.

Which Chiefs players pose a threat to Sundowns?

Amakhosi are coming into this game winless in their last two league matches, but they have potential match-winners in their squad.
GOAL selected five Chiefs players who could hurt Masandawana.

  • Mududuzi Shabalala, Kaizer Chiefs, August 2022

    Mduduzi Shabalala

The 19-year-old attacker tends to inject some needed speed and urgency into the Soweto giants' attack whenever he comes on as a substitute having scored once from four league games this term.
With his talent and abilities, Shabalala, who has been featuring regularly for Amakhosi first team lately after completing his matric, is likely to be a handful for Sundowns' tired defence when he comes on as a late substitute.

  • Kgaogelo Sekgota Kaizer Chiefs.

    Kgaogelo Sekgota

The tricky winger's ability to use his silky dribbling skills to beat opposing defenders and create chances for his teammates has been praised by Bafana Bafana head coach Hugo Broos.
Sekgota is likely to target Khuliso Mudau whose defensive weaknesses were exposed on Monday during a game between Sundowns and SuperSport United.

  • Keagan Dolly of Kaizer Chiefs

    Keagan Dolly

The 2013/14 PSL Young Player of the Season remains one of the best free-kick takers in the country having been involved in his six goals (two assists and four goals) across all competitions this term.
Dolly, who scored twice against Sundowns in an MTN8 clash last season, will pose a threat to his former club from set-pieces as he can either create or score goals from dead balls.

  • Caleb Bimenyimana of Kaizer Chiefs 2022.

    Bonfils-Caleb Bimenyimana

The 24-year-old striker is a nightmare for most centre-backs due to his unpredictable runs and positioning in the opposition's box, but he has been let down by some poor finishing at times which has left Chiefs fans frustrated.
Bimenyimana will view this massive match as the perfect opportunity to silence his critics by adding to the seven goals he has scored in the league thus far and play an instrumental role in helping his side overcome Downs.

  • Itumeleng Khune Kaizer Chiefs.

    Itumeleng Khune

The accomplished goalkeeper will be eager to prove a point after his disappointing performance against AmaZulu FC last week and he has the ability to inspire Amakhosi to a win in the Gauteng Derby match.
Khune's ball distribution remains world class and it is vital when Chiefs are attacking, while his saves can also be the difference between a win or defeat for the Glamour Boys.
