Mosimane masterminds first win in Saudi Arabia as Al Ahli edge Najran
- Royal scored twice after Najran were reduced to 10 players
- Mosimane's side climbed up to the fourth spot on the log
- South African tactician's side will now take on Al Riyadh
WHAT HAPPENED? Mosimane claimed his first win in Saudi Arabia when Al Ahli came back to secure a victory over Najran having trailed at half-time.
Abdullah Al-Mogren grabbed a brace in the second half shortly after Najran were reduced to 10 players.
Al Ahli then held on to their narrow lead and they emerged as 2-1 winners at King Abdullah Sports City.
ALL EYES ON: Mosimane after the South African mentor had started his tenure at the Royal with a 1-1 draw against Jeddah last week as his side failed to hold on to its lead.
The former Mamelodi Sundowns coach made several changes to the starting line-up ahead of the clash against Najran and he led the four-time Saudi Arabian champions to a come-from-behind win.
THE BIGGER PICTURE: The victory over Najran has elevated Al Ahli to fourth place on the First Division standings and also extended the team's unbeaten run to five matches.
The Royal are three points behind leaders Al Akhdoud as the race to finish in the top four spots and secure automatic promotion to the Saudi Pro League continues.
WHAT'S NEXT FOR AL AHLI? The Royal will now travel to Prince Faisal bin Fahd Stadium where they are set to face Al Riyadh on Sunday.
Another win would see Mosimane's side build momentum and also keep up with fellow promotion hopefuls.
