The shortlist for the 2022 Puskas Award has been revealed with some big names and some impressive goals all in the mix.

Kylian Mbappe, Richarlison and Mario Balotelli were all among the 11 nominees for the 2022 Puskas Award which is handed to the player who scored the most beautiful goal of the year. The honour comes as part of FIFA's The Best award series.

However, the list was pruned to three finalists in February 2023, with Marcin Oleksy, Dimitri Payet and Richarlison making the shortlist.

The Brazilian forward scored a stunner in the 2022 World Cup in a 2-0 group-stage win over Serbia. He sent a magnificent bicycle kick past goalkeeper Vanja Milinkovic-Savic for his side's second goal of the evening. If Richarlison wins the Puskas Award, it will be the third consecutive year a Tottenham Hotspur player has taken the honour.

    Every Puskas Award list needs some acrobatics and this year's comes from Marcin Oleksy and his incredible goal for the Warta Poznan amputee team.

    It takes something special to score against Barcelona's Women's team but Salma Paralluelo did exactly that for Villarreal last season with a wonderful curler into the top corner.

    Dimitri Payet needs no introduction and this net-buster for Marseille against PAOK is surely one of his finest.
