Fans have criticised Manchester United coach Erik ten Hag following his side’s 3-1 loss to Aston Villa in the Premier League on Sunday.
Villa ended United’s nine-match unbeaten run when Leon Bailey and Lucas Digne gave them a 2-0 lead after 11 minutes before Jacob Ramsey atoned for his own goal on the stroke of half-time by scoring the third four minutes after the break.
It was a perfect start for Villa’s new coach Unai Emery but a section of fans feel United should have won the match had Ten Hag gotten his selections and tactics right.
When you have players like [Scott] McTominay and Fred at your disposal and you decide to play [Christian] Eriksen and [Donny] van de Beek against a team that wants to put all their energy to give their new manager [a] result, then you have a problem. They allowed Casemiro and [Lisandro] Martinez to suffer. - Beston Jatau
Our manager is slowly beginning to lose directions on his own due to the unnecessary rotation he's making every week. That squad failed to play against Real Sociedad but he [Ten Hag] kept it for [Aston] Villa. He should have a consistent squad. - Elasto M Zaha
The only good thing about the Manchester United coach is having afforded our own Benni McCarthy a lifetime opportunity at Man United. Otherwise, he is overrated. This marriage will never last, trust me.
- Bisto Sechele
Man United looked tired, very slow in build-up. The hard-fought victory over Real Sociedad in midweek has affected them. United will bounce back from this loss. - Ebuka Ofor
Just a bad performance, they to tried no run, if not pressing, but Lisandro Martinez made my day regardless of the bad result. - Angela Ester
Bruno Fernandes is irreplaceable at [Manchester] United. His absence made United look ordinary in midfield. More work needed from United strikers especially, Cr7 [Cristiano Ronaldo] if UCL [Uefa Champions League] is needed next season. - Onabulu Bright
Ronaldo is finished, when he plays, United don't play well. - Sibongiseni Mthokozisi
Erik Ten [Hag] playing Cristiano Ronaldo for 90 minutes to show the whole world that he is completely finished. - Cris Clash
Seeing Ronaldo on the pitch today [Sunday] made me realise he was made the best player in the world by players around him [Mesut] Ozil, [Wayne] Rooney, Ryan [Giggs], [Toni] Kroos, Luka [Modric], James [Rodriguez] etc. At the current United squad, he won't get that, his movement was ignored and there was no supply for him honestly. But let's see how he plays with his national team. - Sydney Xanda Mhlongo
Unai Emery is a good coach, [Mikel] Arteta and [Jurgen] Klopp could not do it [beat Man United]. Unai Emery had good success. - Abdi Aziiz Abdu Khaadir
Great performance. End of the season, position number nine. -Sagor Ifti
Unai couldn't wish for a better win than this one. Welcome back to the Premier league, Emery. - Zainul-Abideen Shu'aib
Very soon, he [Emery] will start seeing his level. This is just a welcome. - Baba Ahmed
I think this guy is Man United’s nemesis. He and Villa will face it in the next few games. This is Premier league. - Jacob Aleu Alol Kuanach
