Miguel Timm Orlando Pirates.
The Buccaneers recorded their fourth win of the season in the PSL when they overcame the Rockets

Orlando Pirates showed their defensive solidity in their 2-0 win over TS Galaxy in a Premier Soccer League clash on Saturday evening.

Two goals from Zakhele Lepasa earned the Buccaneers a victory with the Rockets struggling to break down the home side's tight defence at Orlando Stadium.

Many Bucs players brought their A-game on the night with Lepasa walking away with the Man of the Match award after impressing as a centre forward.

GOAL runs the rule over the individual performances of the Pirates players.

  • Richard Ofori of Orlando Pirates.

    Richard Ofori - 6/10

Comfortable night for the Ghanaian star

Ofori did not have much to do as Pirates dominated the game. He made just one save during the match which was a routine one and he dealt well with aerial balls.

  • Bandile Shandu, Orlando Pirates, March 2022

    Bandile Shandu - 7/10

    Played well on the night.

Shandu was very active up and down the right flank. He was solid defensively and he was good going forward having been involved in the build-up to the first goal.

  • Deon Hotto Orlando Pirates.

    Deon Hotto - 6.5/10

Galaxy attackers tried to target him.

However, Hotto held his own against the visitors' attackers in a decent performance for the Blues. He also made a few promising forward runs with the ball.

  • Nkosinathi Sibisi Orlando Pirates 2020.

    Nkosinathi Sibisi - 6.5/10

    Kept Bernard Parker quiet.

Sibisi neutralized the Galaxy striker who led the visitors' attack. He also passed the ball well when the Buccaneers were building from the back.

  • Gamphani Lungu Tapelo Xoki Orlando Pirates.

    Tapelo Xoki - 6.5/10

Marked his return to the team with a decent display.

Xoki showed his maturity and experience in a comfortable performance as a left centre-half for the Bucs. He was substituted towards the end of the game.

  • Innocent Maela, Orlando Pirates, August 2022

    Innocent Maela - 7/10

Great performance on the left side of the three-man defence.

Maela was rock-solid at the back and he also pushed forward a couple of times and delivered some decent crosses. He also organised the Bucs defence very well.

  • Miguel Timm, Orlando Pirates, August 2022

    Miguel Timm - 8/10

Best display as a Pirates player.

Timm was influential in the middle of the park - playing a key role in helping rotate the ball and keep possession. He is slowly becoming Pirates' best midfielder.

  • Thabang Monare of Orlando Pirates.

    Thabang Monare - 5.5/10

Looked average as an advanced midfielder.

Monare's passing was average, barring a couple of creative passes to unlock Galaxy's defence. He was substituted after picking up an injury after the restart.

  • Zakhele Lepasa, Orlando Pirates, September 2022

    Zakhele Lepasa - 8.5/10

    Outstanding display.

Lepasa caught the eye with unpredictable movement and combination play which unsettled the Galaxy defence, while also being clinical in front of goal.

    Named Man of the Match.

  • Fortune Makaringe Orlando Pirates 2022.

    Fortune Makaringe - 6/10

    Decent outing of an attacker.

Makaringe got himself into good positions in the opposition's box, but he didn't take his chances until he was substituted toward the end of the game.

  • Kabelo Dlamini, Orlando Pirates, March 2022

    Kabelo Dlamini - 6/10

Worked his socks off after being recalled to the team.

Dlamini looked lively on the wings. He carried the ball goalwards in a bid to create goalscoring chances for himself and his teammates.

  • Olisa Ndah, Orlando Pirates, November 2021

    Olisa Ndah - 6/10

Replaced Xoki with 25 minutes left and he looked solid at the heart of the Bucs defence - timing his clearances and tackles well.

  • Ben Motshwari, Orlando Pirates, March 2022

    Ben Motshwari - 5.5/10

Came on in the 65th minute and he wasn't involved much but his passing was spot on.

  • Paseka Mako, Orlando Pirates, October 2021

    Paseka Mako - 5.5/10

Operated in an unfamiliar right-back position after coming on in the 73rd minute and he was never tested defensively, but he took up good positions in the visitors' half.

  • Bienvenu Eva Nga, Orlando Pirates, August 2022

Bienveue Eva and Collins Makgaka - N/A

Both came on in the 85th minute and it was too late to warrant a rating.
