  • Samuel Chukwueze of Nigeria and Villarreal.

    Preview of Nigerians abroad

Victor Osimhen was back on the goal-scoring trail last time out in Napoli’s win over Venezia, and the Super Eagle will aim to hurt Serie A leaders Inter Milan in a top-of-the-table clash.

In Spain, Samuel Chukwueze and his Villarreal teammates will strive to throw a spanner in the works to Real Madrid’s La Liga prospects.

  • Emmanuel Dennis of Nigeria and Watford.

    Emmanuel Dennis

Watford may have kept things tighter at the back in the opening two games under Roy Hodgson — conceding one in 180 minutes against Burnley and West Ham United — but they remain scoreless.

Dennis returned from suspension at the London Stadium and the experienced English manager will hope the forward helps his side’s prospects in front of goal against Brighton & Hove Albion.

It will be Hodgson’s first game at Vicarage Road since taking charge, so fans in Hertfordshire will hope to give their team the extra push on Saturday afternoon

  • Michael Olise

    Michael Olise

Olise continued his fine form for Crystal Palace during the week, assisting Wilfried Zaha’s equaliser at Norwich City.

The 20-year-old is now up to six goal contributions in five Premier League starts since joining the club in the summer, outranking all but four teammates.

Patrick Vieira’s team are away at off-form Brentford this weekend, looking to inflict further misery on Thomas Frank’s team who have lost five league games on the trot.

Frank Onyeka is likely to play a part for the Bees in what would be the midfielder’s 13th league start (18th appearance altogether).

  • Samuel Chukwueze - Villarreal

Despite playing 77 minutes in Villarreal’s 2-0 win over Real Betis, Chukwueze did not pull up trees in the game.

Unai Emery’s side do battle with Real Madrid striving to hurt the title charge of Carlo Ancelotti’s team.

Los Blancos have won two of their last four La Liga games, giving the Yellow Submarine hope of claiming a third straight victory on the spin.

  • Victor Osimhen of Nigeria and Napoli.

    Victor Osimhen

A brilliant header last time out at Venezia gave Osimhen his first Serie A goal since mid-October as Napoli secured a 2-0 victory.

The Nigeria star is now up to six Serie A goals this season and the goal was timely with leaders Inter Milan to visit the Diego Armando Maradona Stadium on Saturday.

Success for the Partenopei will see them leapfrog Inter atop the standings, an eventuality they will welcome this weekend.

Having suffered his sickening injury against the same opponents in the reverse fixture in Milan, it will be interesting to see how the Super Eagle fares.

  • Moses Simon - Nantes

    Moses Simon

Simon’s showing in Nantes’ 2-0 win over Bastia in the Coupe de France in midweek bodes well for this weekend’s meeting with Stade de Reims.

The wide attacker remains on six goal involvements, and he seeks a first direct contribution in Ligue 1 since early December.

Nantes have picked up only one win in four league games, but they will look to improve their recent form against a Reims side four places below them in the standings.
