Sunderland striker wanted by rivals
According to reports in Scottish media, Sunderland forward Ross Stewart is wanted by north east rivals Middlesbrough.
The Black Cats will at least be glad to hear that Rangers are unlikely to renew their interest in the Scotland international amid talk of a move last summer.
Stewart is in the final year of his contract but Sunderland are said to have an option to extend that by 12 months.

According to reports in Italian media, Liverpool are keeping tabs on Athletic Club star and Spain international Nico Williams.
The 20-year-old has got regular game time as a substitute at the World Cup so far and with four goals and four assists at club level this term it's easy to see why he's catching the eye.
Nketiah sends message to highly-rated World Cup star
After Mohammed Kudus scored a brace in Ghana's 3-2 win over South Korea, the Arsenal man took to Twitter to praise the Ajax star.
A number of top clubs are said to be keeping an eye on the 22-year-old and so Gooners may be excited about this Tweet.
However, Nketiah has Ghanaian blood and so it may have simply just been a show of support.

The Manchester City and Germany midfielder Ilkay Gundogan is reportedly a key transfer target of Barcelona.
That is, at least, according to Mundo Deportivo (via Manchester Evening News) who claim the La Liga outfit see the 32-year-old as a dream option with his contract set to expire at the end of the season.
Chelsea lead race for Rice
As reported earlier on this blog, there has been some talk that Declan Rice could be off this summer with West Ham ready to sell for the right price.

Man Utd considering January loan recalls
Manchester United are open to recalling youngsters, namely right-back Ethan Laird, in the January transfer window, should they feel they need the reinforcements, according to the Manchester Evening News.
Aaron Wan-Bissaka is not in Erik ten Hag's plans and should he leave in the upcoming window, United could recall their youngster from QPR, where he has featured regularly this season.

Wolfsburg confirm Kruse departure
Following on from the earlier rumours that Wolfsburg were set to mutually terminate Max Kruse's contract, the news has now been confirmed on their website.
"In open and honest talks, we came to the agreement that this is the best solution for all involved. We wish Max all the best for the future," said VfL sporting director Marcel Schäfer.

Barcelona reportedly showed interest in signing Dani Olmo from RB Leipzig in 2021 before they opted to rope in Ferran Torres from Manchester City according to Fabrizio Romano via Caughtoffisde.
The journalist wrote in his column, "Dani Olmo is impressing with Spain at the World Cup and I can reveal there was strong interest from Barcelona one year ago, in 2021; but then they invested €55m on Ferran Torres so nothing happened.
