Commentary

Marseille's hopes of qualifying for the last 16 have gotten a big shot in the arm, then, while Sporting have to swallow a dose of reality. That's all for now. Goodbye!
Marseille's victory lifts them to second in Group D, ahead of Sporting on head-to-head points. OM were well worthy of the win, although their opponents admittedly made it easy for them. Sporting's travails meant they had just four shots here. Luckily for them, the group remains extremely tight, but Amorim needs to knock some sense into his players.
Marseille leave Lisbon with the three points after scoring twice in the first half. Sporting shot themselves in the foot by having two players sent off. The hosts did well to limit the damage, but there was no chance of this being anything other than a Marseille victory once they went down to nine men.
90' + 3' FULL-TIME: SPORTING CP 0-2 MARSEILLE
90' + 2' Sporting enjoy the last shot of the game as Alexandropoulos has a token pop at goal from outside the box. Lopez comfortably saves it, and that's it!
90' There'll be two more minutes of this game. It's been over as a contest for a long time.
89' Marseille continue to look for a third goal as we wait to find out how much time will be added on.
P. Gueye
J. Veretout
87' Here's that Marseille change. Veretout leaves the pitch. Gueye gets a late runout.
86' Marseille are about to make their final change. They'll be very pleased with how this second half has gone for them.
84' Sanchez fires high and wide from the centre of the box. Sporting's chances of salvaging anything from this game were slim before Pote's red card. They've been non-existent since.
83' Rongier slides the corner out to Under, who cuts inside on his left foot and goes for goal. The Turkish international's effort is well off target.
82' It's a Marseille corner. Under floats it towards the far post, where Tavares plays it safe. Marsa heads a cross out for another corner.
80' Marseille work the ball from side to side as Sporting pack the middle of the pitch. Tavares gets caught out by a divot in the turf and the hosts get a lucky throw-in.
78' The pace of the game has slowed significantly since Sporting's second red card. Marseille are quite content to keep things calm.
76' Under continues Marseille's recent habit of shooting from long range, playing a nice one-two with Sanchez before firing high and wide.
Pedro Porro
Yellow Card
74' Porro becomes Sporting's latest addition to the book for barging over Tavares.
73' Payet, who's just come on, receives a quick pass from Sanchez and curls a decent effort inches over the crossbar. Israel almost gets his fingertips to it.
D. Payet
A. Harit
72' Marseille substitution. Payet replaces the influential Harit.
70' Marseille take the corner short. Tavarez's ambitious effort from range is blocked. The French side get another corner, from which Rongier fires over.
68' Rongier fires wide from the left of the box. Sporting are playing in a 5-3-0 formation now. Their focus has to be on damage limitation.
68' Israel saves Harit's header from Sanchez's cross. Marseille keep the pressure on and force a corner down their left.
66' Harit gets tripped by Porro down Marseille's left. The visitors should really be able to throw their weight around now.
C. Ünder
M. Guendouzi
64' Guendouzi, who's also on a yellow card, heads off too. He's replaced by Under. Marseille aren't risking losing their two-man advantage.
I. Kaboré
J. Clauss
64' Kabore is the next player to come on for Marseille. He takes Clauss' place on the pitch.
S. Gigot
E. Bailly
64' Marseille make a wise first substitution. The booked Bailly heads off. Gigot replaces the Ivorian at centre-back.
62' Sporting have had three players sent off in this season's Champions League now, more than any other team. If they fail to qualify for the last 16, that'll be a big reason why.
60' RED CARD FOR POTE! The Sporting winger reacts badly to being booked and is shown a second yellow card! He has to go! Sporting are down to nine men. Their lack of discipline has really hurt them.
Pote
Yellow Card
60' Pote's shown the yellow card for a petulant tackle on Balerdi.
Pedro Porro
Nuno Santos
59' A frustrated Santos leaves the pitch. Sporting's Spanish right-sided player Porro enters the pitch.
58' Sporting are preparing to make their final substitution. You can't say their boss Ruben Amorim isn't being proactive.
56' Clauss powers down the right and crosses low into the centre of the box. Harit shoots first time. The ball blazes over the crossbar.
M. Ugarte
Yellow Card
54' Ugarte catches Harit's standing leg as the Marseille man turns. The Sporting midfielder's shown the yellow card.
52' Veretout smashes the free-kick into Sporting's defensive wall. The hosts hold firm and stop Marseille from shooting again for now.
50' Guendouzi gets clattered by Pote just after he moves the ball on outside Sporting's box. Marseille get a free-kick in a central position.
48' Fatawu heads wide from Santos' delivery. It's no goal, but it's a promising sign for Sporting.
47' Sporting start the half brightly, putting the ball into the danger area. Reis reacts first to the rebound to lash at goal from the left of the box. His shot's blocked. It'll be a corner.
47' Sporting get the second half started. If they can get a goal soon, a positive result isn't beyond them.
Flávio Nazinho
Trincão
46' Sporting make their fourth substitution of the match before things resume. Nazinho replaces Trincao.
Marseille may have had 61 per cent possession in that first half, but they only had six shots to Sporting's one. The Portuguese side are still in this game, if they can create the right attacking opportunities. OM will be confident they can see the win out from here.
Marseille are two goals up and a man up at the break. Esgaio's dismissal for two yellow cards in quick succession left Sporting reeling, and Guendouzi and Sanchez took advantage. The hosts managed to stem the bleeding before half-time with some early changes, but they're in a difficult position now.
45' + 4' HALF-TIME: SPORTING CP 0-2 MARSEILLE
45' + 2' Bailly's adjudged to have handled the ball. Sporting get a free-kick.
45' + 1' Chance for Marseille! Veretout takes aim for the bottom left corner from outside the box. Israel gets down in time to push the shot aside.
45' Now it's Marseille's turn to win a corner. There'll be four additional minutes before the half-time break.
44' Sporting turn their free-kick into two consecutive corners, but can't create anything from them. Marseille are looking in good shape as we approach half-time.
E. Bailly
Yellow Card
43' Bailly's booked for an ill-timed challenge on Santos down Sporting's left.
41' Sporting dart forward on the counter-attack and Pote runs into space to the right of Marseille's box. The visitors recover just in time to prevent him from hurting them.
39' It's hard to tell what formation Sporting have switched to. If we had to guess, it's something between a 3-3-3 and a 5-4-0. It's helped them stabilise things for now though.
37' Sporting are showing signs of life. Trincao's powerful shot from distance is caught by Lopez.
S. Alexandropoulos
M. Edwards
35' Sporting's forward Edwards also goes off. Alexandropoulos, a defensive midfielder, replaces him. It's a smart idea for the hosts, but a shame for this match as a whole.
José Marsà
S. Coates
35' Sporting need to make further changes. They're being overwhelmed here. Marsa, a defender, replaces Coates.
33' Sanchez gets caught offside as Balerdi attempts to find him. Marseille are finding plenty of joy with balls over the top from the back.
A. Harit
Assist
31' Harit timed his run excellently to create that chance, and Sanchez was perfectly placed to capitalise on it. Sporting have a mountain to climb, and we're only half an hour into this game.
A. Sánchez
Goal
30' GOAL! SPORTING CP 0-2 MARSEILLE! Sanchez doubles Marseille's lead! The Chilean taps in Harit's low cross as the winger beats Sporting's offside trap. It's a simple goal, and the hosts are in big trouble.
28' Sporting survive Marseille's latest corner, but they're rocking. Sanchez earns another free-kick as he's stopped by Ugarte.
26' Sanchez blasts right-footed at goal from the edge of the penalty area. It's straight at Israel, who tips the ball out for a Marseille corner.
24' Sanchez draws a foul from Reis down Marseille's right. Harit swings the free-kick towards Sporting's box. Guendouzi heads the ball on and Sanchez fires high and wide.
I. Fatawu
H. Morita
22' Sporting have to adapt to losing a man. Morita is the player sacrificed. Issahaku is his replacement.
21' That's Guendouzi's first goal in this season's Champions League, and Sporting are in trouble now. They've lost their last five matches in which they've had a player sent off, including their game against Marseille last week.
M. Guendouzi
Penalty Goal
20' GOAL! SPORTING CP 0-1 MARSEILLE! Guendouzi approaches the penalty spot and lashes his kick into the net off the bottom of the left-hand post. Marseille are a goal and a man up!
19' RED CARD FOR ESGAIO! Once the Sporting defender is back on his feet, he's shown his second yellow card in about as many minutes for his reckless challenge on Harit. They're down to 10 men!
17' PENALTY FOR MARSEILLE! Sporting fail to clear their lines and Harit scampers after a throughball into the box. Esgaio clumsily crashes into the Marseille winger and the referee points straight to the penalty spot! Both players stay down injured. It's a mighty collision, and an easy decision for the official to make.
Ricardo Esgaio
Yellow Card
16' Tavares takes a whack from the arm of Esgaio as the pair both go for a header. Esgaio's booked. It's clear that this referee doesn't like players leading with their arms.
14' Sanchez latches onto Bailly's long ball over the top. After a long delay, the offside flag goes up.
12' Tavares loses possession and trips his counterpart Esgaio as he tries to regain the ball. Sporting free-kick.
10' Marseille go on the attack. Clauss cuts inside from the right and attempts to free Harit with a floated pass. It doesn't work out.
8' Veretout goes straight for goal from the corner kick, whipping it in with his right foot. It flashes just over the crossbar.
M. Guendouzi
Yellow Card
8' Guendouzi's shown an early yellow card for going into an aerial challenge with Santos with his elbow.
7' Marseille win the first corner of the game down their left. Guendouzi has a word with the referee after a spicy challenge by Reis went unpunished.
5' Pote's penalised for catching Mbemba as the Marseille centre-back looks to pass forward.
3' Harit miscontrols and accidentally handles the ball. Sporting are awarded the free-kick.
1' The visitors Marseille get this game underway!
Marseille will become the 11th different French side that Sporting have hosted in European competition, with them having hosted a different team in each of their previous 10. Marseille have lost all three of their previous away games against Portuguese sides in the Champions League, all of those to Porto. Will they fall to these hosts too?
Marseille only make one change from that 4-1 victory. Rongier comes into the French side's midfield. Under drops to the bench.
There are two changes to Sporting from their mauling at Marseille's hands last week. Their first-choice goalkeeper Antonio Adan is suspended, so Israel steps between the sticks. Their captain Coates also returns from injury.

Marseille arrive in Portugal bottom of Group D, but with points on the board after beating Sporting 4-1 in France last week. OM have lost their last nine away games in the Champions League though and have failed to score in their last five. They'll need to end that bad run on the road if they want to qualify for the last 16.
Three games in, Group D remains one of the tightest of groups with three points separating all four teams. Current group leaders Sporting have the potential to go four points clear of third place with a victory here, having won each of their last three home games in the Champions League group stage.
Hello and welcome to our live text commentary of this UEFA Champions League Group D match between Sporting CP and Marseille at Estadio Jose Alvalade.
