Commentary

That's all from us, we hope you enjoyed that game and we'll see you next time! Goodbye!
The spoils being shared means it's as you were at the top of the table, with just one point separating these two sides at the Premier League's summit. Seven games left to play, and City ahead by the finest of margins, means that this title race could go right down to the wire.
Jesus' goal was City's second, and he had numerous chances to win it in the second half. He finished the game with three shots on target from four attempts, a key pass, and competed in three aerial duels, winning three fouls in open play too.
What. A. Game!! Liverpool started the second half on fire with an equaliser less than a minute in, and with the scores locked at 2-2 both sides had numerous chances to win it! VAR denied Sterling and both goalkeepers played their part too, with these sets of players leaving everything on the pitch in what was an absolute classic at the top of the Premier League.
90' + 4' FULL-TIME: MANCHESTER CITY 2-2 LIVERPOOL.
90' + 4' OVER!!! De Bruyne bursts clear in midfield, and plays Mahrez through on the right. He cuts inside and looks to chip Alisson, but miscues his shot and sends it over the crossbar!
90' + 3' Grealish scampers over halfway but is met man-and-ball by a crunching Matip tackle, and Liverpool will look to make the most of the possession.
90' + 2' City vs Liverpool is just the second Premier League fixture this season to see both sides score 2+ goals in both meetings (also West Ham vs Crystal Palace).
90' + 1' De Bruyne sends Fabinho flying with a wild late challenge, but the City captain avoids a booking with Liverpool set to take the free-kick.
90' + 1' We're into four minutes of added time at the end of this titanic Premier League clash.
90' WIDE!!! Mahrez steps up to the free-kick and curls his effort around the wall. Alisson dives, but it beats him before clattering the outside of the post and goes behind!
V. van Dijk
Yellow Card
89' De Bruyne looks to sprint through the middle before Van Dijk clips him from behind, warranting a clear yellow card from the referee.
88' Cancelo crosses from the left, and almost catches Alisson off guard as it dips at the far post and goes behind.
88' Rodri trundles into the box and looks to cross from the right, but Van Dijk's foot takes it away from the incoming Foden.
87' Grealish puts Cancelo into space but his cross is blasted away by Matip for a throw-in.
85' There's a nasty collision between De Bruyne and Thiago after the Liverpool midfielder is pulled back but then kicks out at De Bruyne. No cards though, and the tension ramps up another notch with five minutes left.
Roberto Firmino
S. Mané
84' Mane comes off for Liverpool having scored their equaliser, and Roberto Firmino replaces him up top.
84' City look to spring the offside trap from another free-kick, but Mane follows Rodri all the way and forces him wide as the ball goes behind.
Fabinho
Yellow Card
83' Silva picks Mane's pocket and glides through the middle, before being brought down from behind by Fabinho for a free-kick. The Brazilian is yellow-carded for the tackle, which was a nasty one.
J. Grealish
Gabriel Jesus
83' Jesus comes off for City having scored their second goal, and Jack Grealish will come on to see out the game.
81' Mahrez cuts inside and feigns shooting before passing to De Bruyne, but his cut-back is deflected away from Mahrez's path before the Reds clear!
80' It's still on a knife-edge as we enter the last 10 minutes, and whilst another goal feels like it's on the cards, this game has been anything but predictable.
79' Diaz wins the ball from Walker and sets off on the counter, but City have reinforcements in larger supply and Cancelo heads clear a diagonal pass towards Salah.
N. Keïta
J. Henderson
78' Liverpool bring off their captain Henderson, and Naby Keita will replace him in midfield.
77' Salah's only had one shot so far, but has an assist as well as three key passes. He has scored in four of his last five Premier League games against Man City though, including each of his last three in a row.
R. Mahrez
R. Sterling
75' The denied goalscorer Sterling comes off for City, and their top scorer in all competitions Riyad Mahrez replaces him.
74' Cancelo dispossesses Salah in full flight and sets off on a mazy run. He beats Henderson too, being brought down by the Liverpool captain on halfway.
72' WIDE!!! After Van Dijk wrestles Sterling off the ball, it comes to De Bruyne and he puts Jesus into space down the right. He has Foden and De Bruyne in support, but again goes for glory and blasts the ball into the side-netting of Alisson's goal!
71' WIDE!!! Salah cuts inside Cancelo and shoots on goal, but Stones is in the way to divert it behind! Inexplicably though, the referee gives a goal kick, despite the deflection being pretty clear!
71' That substitution sees Mane move into the central forward position, with Diaz to operate from the left.
L. Díaz
Diogo Jota
70' Liverpool's first goalscorer Jota comes off in Jurgen Klopp's first change, and Luis Diaz will replace him in attack.
68' A Salah cross is knocked away by Laporte and City look to break through De Bruyne. He plays an onside Sterling through again, but Van Dijk follows him all the way and dispossesses him in the box!
66' This is the 50th Premier League match when the top two sides in the division have clashed, with the league leaders winning 20, losing 18 and drawing 11. It’s the third such match between Manchester City and Liverpool, following a goalless draw in October 2018 with City at the top, and City beating newly crowned champions Liverpool 4-0 in July 2020.
64' A VAR check on the goal ensues, and finds that Sterling was beyond the last man and so the goal won't count! We're still locked up at 2-2 as we enter the last 25 minutes!
63' BALL IN THE NET!!! City look to have a third!!! De Bruyne's ball forward puts Sterling through on goal, and the unmarked City winger slots it past Alisson into the net!!! He looked offside at first glance, but if he wasn't, it's 3-2 to City!
Thiago Alcântara
Yellow Card
61' Thiago's not happy about something and is booked for dissent, getting that yellow card he narrowly avoided earlier on.
61' BLOCKED!!! Jesus creates space for himself down the right by beating Robertson in the air, and cuts inside looking to shoot. He has passing options, but chooses to shoot, and his left-footed strike is blocked and cleared by Van Dijk!
60' City look to pen Liverpool into their own half as Foden pressures Henderson, but the ball is eventualy passed out of trouble by Liverpool via a well-timed tackle from Fabinho on Silva.
59' Alexander-Arnold chases Alisson's long kick and almost wrestles off the pressure of Cancelo, but can't quite find Jota before City clear the danger.
58' Thiago slides in to stop Jesus and gets nothing of the ball, but avoids a booking from the referee.
56' A diagonal ball finds Jota on the run, and he plays it back to Henderson. The Liverpool captain knocks it forward to run onto, but Cancelo clears it for City.
55' Salah and Mane have now combined for 21 Premier League goals for Liverpool, with only Robbie Fowler and Steve McManaman combining for more (24). Connection.
53' SAVED!!! Salah is put into space down the right and squares to Jota, but his first-time effort is parried by Ederson! This half has started at an electrifying pace!
52' Robertson's cross isn't dealt with by Cancelo and almost gives Salah a shooting chance, but the City left-back recovers to clear the danger as this game ramps up in pace even further.
51' Alexander-Arnold steams down the right before finding Jota, but his final ball towards Mane is just too far ahead of the Senegalese winger and Ederson collects for City.
50' Liverpool have won each of their last 10 Premier League games, keeping eight clean sheets in this run. It’s their fifth run of at least 10 consecutive Premier League wins, and that Mane goal puts them right back in with a chance of extending it.
48' Robertson's in space down the left and floats a cross into the area, but it's ahead of everyone and goes out for a throw.
Mohamed Salah
Assist
46' The pass from Salah was so, so good and put it on a plate for Mane, and Liverpool equalise within just 47 seconds of the half starting!
S. Mané
Goal
46' GOOOAAAALLLL!!!! Liverpool score straight out the gates!!! Salah cuts inside and curls a beauty of a ball through for Mane, and he beats Walker to the ball, slotting it past Ederson to make it 2-2!!!!
46' City resume proceedings, and we're back under way in Manchester!
The teams head back out for the second half, and here's hoping it's as jam-packed with quality as the first!
His early goal sent City on their way, and De Bruyne also chipped in with another shot and four crosses. He also completed all of his duels, and Liverpool need to contain him and the rest of City's midfield if they're to have any hope of saving this game.
What a half of football that was!! City started at electric pace and De Bruyne gave them the lead after just five minutes! Jota replied for Liverpool eight minutes later, but City peppered the Reds goal after this and finally broke through again via Jesus, beating Liverpool's offside trap to make it 2-1. The hosts are ahead, and provisionally four points clear in the table, going into half-time, but we've not seen the last of the goalmouth action by a long way!
45' + 2' HALF-TIME: MANCHESTER CITY 2-1 LIVERPOOL.
45' + 2' Jesus dispossesses Mane on the edge of his own box and Foden smashes the ball beyond Alisson, but the referee had already blown for a foul against City and so it won't count!
45' + 1' We're into two minutes of added time to close out this frantic first half.
45' SAVED!!! City's low free-kick is swung into the area, and Laporte's close-range finish is parried onto the post and behind by Alisson! The flag was up, so it wouldn't have counted, but Liverpool were nearly caught out again!
44' Jota is put through on goal by Henderson, but Laporte slides across to dispossess the Liverpool goalscorer before he can shoot or pass! A risky challenge, but one he got absolutely right to deny Jota a brace.
43' CHANCE!!! City break down the left and Foden crosses for Sterling. It looks a glorious chance but Robertson sticks a foot in to knock it away from the City winger's path and deny him a shooting opportunity!
42' Alexander-Arnold plays Mane through, and the Liverpool winger tees up Matip to shoot but Silva is back to clear for Manchester City.
40' Mane chests a ball forward for Alexander-Arnold who shoots when through on goal, but the offside flag's up to deny him regardless of the result of his effort.
Bernardo Silva
Yellow Card
40' Silva needlessly catches Robertson late and is booked by the referee.
39' The communication between Alisson and his defenders appears to be non-existent at the moment, with the Liverpool goalkeeper passing to Van Dijk, who then drags a lazy pass out of play!
38' Jesus only has more goals vs Everton (eight) than he does against Liverpool (five) in all comps for Man City. An unpopular man on Merseyside, no doubt.
João Cancelo
Assist
37' The ball back in from Cancelo was a good one, but Liverpool really shouldn't have been caught off-guard so easily, and it's put them a goal down once again.
Gabriel Jesus
Goal
37' GOOOAAAALLLL!!!! City fire ahead!!!! After heading away a City corner, Cancelo crosses back into the area, and with the Liverpool defence nowhere, Jesus sneaks in at the far post to tap it beyond Alisson and into the net!!! Liverpool fell asleep again, and it's cost them this time as City make it 2-1!!
36' A poor Alisson clearance allows Rodri to head it back towards Sterling in the box. He feeds De Bruyne wide to the right, but Sterling can't quite reach the return ball and Robertson knocks it behind for a corner!
35' WIDE!!! Cancelo races down the left beyond Alexander-Arnold and cuts into the box. He shoots for the near post, but smashes his effort beyond Alisson and into the side netting!
34' Foden simply glides through several Liverpool challenges and feeds Jesus on the right. He heads towards goal hoping for a return ball, but Jesus waits for support before attempting a pass.
33' Henderson puts Mane in the clear with a beautiful diagonal pass. Thiago and Henderson are in support, but the Reds captain finds no-one after attempting a similar ball into the six-yard box.
32' Thiago stretches but can't latch onto Salah's cross. Mane can though, and plays Robertson in but his ball into the box is blocked by Stones.
31' Since the start of the 2018-19 season, Alexander-Arnold has 44 Premier League assists, four more than the next player - his opposite full-back Robertson with 40.
29' WIDE!!! Cancelo collects Laporte's long ball and cuts it back to De Bruyne. On the turn, the Belgian pulls the trigger, but drags his low effort wide of the near post!
29' De Bruyne's free-kick is poor and Liverpool break, with Alexander-Arnold trying his luck from halfway, only to be denied by Ederson recovering back into his own goal area!
A. Robertson
Yellow Card
28' De Bruyne knocks the ball past Robertson and is taken out by the Liverpool left-back, who receives the game's first booking.
27' A good cross from Foden on the left falls for Walker in the box, but he and Jesus can't decide who's shooting until Matip steps in and knocks it back to Alisson!
25' WIDE!!! City catch Liverpool napping from a free-kick, with Rodri heading across goal unmarked! It's wide of the target, but Stones can't get to the ball before it crosses the goal-line!
23' OFF THE LINE!!! Ederson takes a Stones backpass and takes far too long to make his mind up about the next pass, waiting until the ball has almost crossed the line before passing to Laporte! Crazy levels of calmness from the City keeper there!
22' Jota's equaliser was his third goal in his last three Premier League games, and the Portugal international takes his tally to 15 for the season so far.
21' City win the ball deep in Liverpool territory, but Rodri's ball to Sterling sees the ball stabbed away right at the last. Rodri follows in with a half-volley from the edge of the box, but a Van Dijk block takes it over the bar.
19' Silva's ball from deep finds Walker on the fly and the City full-back squares it into the box. Foden's arriving, but Van Dijk thumps it away to concede the first corner of the match.
18' Alexander-Arnold has registered more assists than any other player in the Premier League this season (12) and is just one short of equalling his best tally in the competition (13 in 2019-20).
17' Salah and Mane both chase a throughball at pace, but Ederson catches the bobbling ball ahead of both to deny Liverpool.
16' STOPPED!!! Walker clips a ball in behind for Sterling, and he knocks it back for Jesus to strike. The Brazilian does so, but it's straight at his countryman Alisson, who holds the ball.
15' Victory for Liverpool would see them finish a day top of the Premier League table for the first time since October 1. Of the last eight meetings between the top two sides within the final 10 games of the season, the team in second have won seven times, including each of the last five in a row.
T. Alexander-Arnold
Assist
13' The cross back in from Robertson was spot-on, but the composure of Alexander-Arnold to tee up Jota was just as good and the Reds are level!
Diogo Jota
Goal
13' GOOOAAALLL!!!! Liverpool hit back!!!! After Laporte heads clear a cross for Mane, Robertson crosses the ball back into the danger area. Alexander-Arnold's at the back post, and cuts it back for Jota to stroke home!!! 1-1 with the game just 13 minutes old, and this is shaping up to be a classic!
12' Laporte wins the ball from Salah and looks to play Foden through down the left, but Matip cleans up and passes back to Alisson with Foden giving chase.
11' City have re-jigged their front three from the start of the game, with Jesus on the right, Foden on the left, and Sterling operating through the centre.
9' Van Dijk dawdles on the ball with Jesus bearing down on him, and Alisson has to race out his goal to smother the ball and deny the City winger! Liverpool are playing half-asleep at the moment!
8' Both managers have beaten each other eight times in their respective careers, with no manager beating Guardiola more than Klopp, and only Felix Magath (also eight) beating Klopp as many times as Guardiola.
7' Play stops with City on the attack again, as stewards enter the pitch to remove a flare thrown by a supporter near the Liverpool end.
Bernardo Silva
Assist
5' Silva gets the assist, but that goal was all De Bruyne. Liverpool looked to have repelled City's early momentum with that Alisson save, but the Sky Blues scored just 30 seconds later.
K. De Bruyne
Goal
5' GOOOAAAAALLLLL!!!! City strike first!!!! After Mane clears from the Sterling chance, De Bruyne comes back forwards and beats Fabinho easily. He strikes it with his left foot from the edge of the box, and a deflection off Matip takes it beyond Alisson, off the post, and into the back on the net! 1-0 in five minutes, and City start on fire once again!
5' SAVED!!!! City break as quick as a flash as De Bruyne powers through midfield. He puts Jesus through, who squares to Sterling, but Alisson gets in the way of his close-range finish and parries! What a start that would've been!
3' A mix-up between Ederson and Laporte almost allows Jota to dispossess the City defender, but Laporte shields the ball well to play his way out of danger.
3' Jesus drops deep to collect an Ederson pass, but he's shunted to the floor by Van Dijk and wins a free-kick.
2' Manchester City have lost just one of their last 12 Premier League home games against Liverpool, and have won seven, only losing in Jurgen Klopp’s first visit to the Etihad in late 2015.
1' Henderson kicks off for Liverpool, and we're under way at the Etihad!
The two sides head onto the pitch, and we're almost ready to go in this potential title decider!
Liverpool rotate their attack too, with Diogo Jota replacing Luis Diaz in the middle of the attack. Captain Jordan Henderson is back in the side too, replacing Naby Keita in midfield.
City recall Phil Foden and Gabriel Jesus to start this game, with the two filling the right and central spots in their front three, with Raheem Sterling occupying the left.
LIVERPOOL SUBS: Caoimhin Kelleher, Ibrahima Konate, James Milner, Naby Keita, Roberto Firmino, Joe Gomez, Curtis Jones, Konstantinos Tsimikas, Luis Diaz.
LIVERPOOL (4-3-3): Alisson; Trent Alexander-Arnold, Joel Matip, Virgil van Dijk, Andy Robertson; Jordan Henderson, Fabinho, Thiago Alcantara; Mohamed Salah, Diogo Jota, Sadio Mane.
MANCHESTER CITY SUBS: Zack Steffen, Nathan Ake, Ilkay Gundogan, Jack Grealish, Oleksandr Zinchenko, Fernandinho, Riyad Mahrez, James McAtee, Romeo Lavia.
MANCHESTER CITY (4-3-3): Ederson; Kyle Walker, John Stones, Aymeric Laporte, Joao Cancelo; Bernardo Silva, Rodri, Kevin De Bruyne; Phil Foden, Gabriel Jesus, Raheem Sterling.
Despite being on a 10-game winning streak, the Reds haven’t been able to wrestle top spot away from City, but this game presents a fantastic opportunity for Liverpool to take a massive step towards regaining the title they lost to Pep Guardiola's men last season.
Hosts City lead Liverpool by just one point heading into this potential title decider, and the victors, if there is one, will end this match on top of the pile with just seven games left to play.
Hello, and welcome to live coverage of this Premier League fixture, between Manchester City and Liverpool.
