Commentary

Thanks for joining our commentary today. Until next time, goodbye.
Madrid are next in action against Villarreal on the road on Saturday in LaLiga. Cacereno are on the road on Sunday in their next outing against Montijo.
Real Madrid advance to the Copa del Rey round of 16 with an unconvincing 1-0 win over Cacereno at the Principe Felipe. Rodrygo Silva scored the only goal of the game to secure the victory for Los Blancos, who were off form for the majority of the contest. The fourth division outfit gave them all they could handle, although the hosts were unable to make their impressive play count in front of goal. Madrid march on to the next round of the competition.

77' Garci battles against Vallejo down the right flank, but he just cannot keep the ball alive on the byline to continue his run.

Rubén Solano
David Grande
72' Grande is withdrawn by the hosts and is replaced by Solano.
70' Cacereno have been excellent tonight, but just lacked the quality in the final third to get the goal while they were on top. Madrid have punished them and the home side face an uphill challenge now.
Dani Ceballos
Assist
69' Ceballos offloads to Rodygo down the left flank, who does the rest with a brilliant goal.
Rodrygo
Goal
69' GOALLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL!!!! RODRYGO GETS THE BREAKTHROUGH!!!! 1-0 MADRID!!!! Los Blancos can breathe a sigh of relief as Rodrygo produces a moment of brilliance with fine run and finish to open the scoring. Ceballos plays him into space on the left flank and he surges past Aguado with a drop of the shoulder. He holds his composure and bends his effort away from Moreno into the top-right corner. Madrid needed that.
Á. Rodríguez
E. Hazard
68' Rodriguez replaces Hazard, who has barely touched the ball.
Iván Fernández
Yellow Card
66' Fernandez slips as he works the ball to Telles and catches Ceballos on his follow-through. He goes into the book.
64' Cacereno have been excellent all over the pitch. They've given Madrid a real run for their money today.

Vallejo
Odriozola
51' Odriozola appears to pull a hamstring and is forced off. Vallejo replaces the left-back.
50' El Kounni battles for the ball in the inside-right channel, but he fouls Ceballos in the process. Cacereno are still not backing down here.
48' Ancelotti has aimed to freshen up his side and he needs a spark from somewhere without Benzema or Vinicius Junior in the ranks today.
46' We're back under way in this Copa del Rey clash.
Karim El Kounni
Carmelo Merenciano
46' El Kounni enters the action for Merenciano at the break. That one is surprising considering that Merenciano was bright in the first half.
A. Rüdiger
Éder Militão
46' Militao makes way for Rudiger at the break.
F. Valverde
A. Tchouaméni
46' Tchouameni was off the pace in the first half and was booked. Valverde replaces the midfielder at the break.
Cacereno put a lot of effort into the first half and it will be interesting whether they can sustain those levels in the second period. Madrid may receive a few stern words from Ancelotti at the interval, which is likely to fire them into action.
It's goalless at the break in the Copa del Rey clash between Cacereno and Real Madrid. The fourth division outfit have been the better team and could have taken the lead through Samuel Manchon, who saw his effort creep narrowly past the post. Madrid have offered very little in the final third, which will concern Carlo Ancelotti given the talent out on the field.
45' + 1' HALF-TIME: CACERENO 0-0 REAL MADRID
45' + 1' Hazard collects on the edge of the box after a break down the left by Odriozola. He turns to find Ceballos, who drags his strike harmlessly wide of the target.

42' Molina makes an unforced error at the back as he misplaces his offload straight out for a corner when looking for Moreno.
40' BLOCK! Asensio finds space through the middle as he latches on to a ball over the top. He cannot get a strike away, but he tees up Rodrygo. The Brazilian shoots first-time, only to see his effort charged down.
38' CLOSE! Militao gives the ball away and it allows Manchon to shoot on the turn. His effort takes a deflection off Nacho and creeps just past the left post.
37' OVER! Clausi feeds a pass to the feet of Telles, who shoots on his left foot with power. He gets a good connection, only to send his effort over the bar.
37' Telles takes the resulting free-kick and arcs his left-footed cross to the back post, but his delivery has too much height on it.
36' Manchon provides problems for Madrid down the right flank and draws a foul from Odriozola to earn a free-kick.
34' Madrid win a corner down the right flank that Asensio curls into the box. Militao wins the header, but he sends a tame effort straight at Moreno.

30' Cacereno appeal for a penalty for handball against Ceballos as he clears from a Merenciano cross. The ball strikes the midfielder after he challenges Grande in the air, but there does not appear to be any contact with the arm.
Samu Manchón
Yellow Card
28' Manchon tries to rob Odriozola on the edge of his own box, but he catches the defender and is booked.
A. Tchouaméni
Yellow Card
27' Tchouameni catches Fernandez with a late challenge and goes into the book.
25' Madrid are not finding a rhythm in their passing game. It has been a long time since a lot of these players have played together.
23' Cacereno win a free-kick down the right flank that Merenciano whips into the box. His delivery is cleared as far as Gomis, who tries to send Manchon over the top in the inside-left channel. But, the ball skips off the pitch and out for a goal-kick. It was almost a clever move from the hosts.
21' The home side can afford to be very pleased with their performance in the opening 21 minutes. They've kept Madrid off balance and have looked lively in the final third.
18' Merenciano and Manchon combine with a sublime one-two down the left flank. The former has space to deliver a cross, but he fails to beat the first defender.
17' Tchouameni brings down Telles on the charge and hands Cacereno a free-kick down the left flank.
16' SAVE! Ceballos raids past Mereciano and takes on a strike from 25 yards. His effort bobbles on its way to goal, but Moreno does well to get down to make the stop.
14' Madrid have the ball in the back of the net as Vazquez converts Asensio's cross, but the flag goes up against the latter as he was in an offside position down the right flank.
12' Asensio breaks into the inside-right channel before he sees his cutback cleared. Madrid sustain the pressure through Rodrygo down the left, but he gets crowded out before he can threaten.
11' Los Blancos are not having it all their own way at the start of the contest. The visitors need to find a rhythm.
9' Telles tries to work the ball to Merenciano from the resulting corner, but the latter is just in an offside position, easing the pressure on Madrid.
9' OVER! Mereciano seizes on a loose ball on the edge of the Madrid box and lines up a blast. Ceballos throws himself in the way of the strike and deflects it over the bar.
8' Asensio finally finds space down the right flank and he offloads to Vazquez to float a cross into the box. Rodrygo is postioned at the back post, but it proves to be an easy claim for Moreno.
6' The home side are applying pressure on Madrid at the back, which has left Los Blancos unable to break out of their own half.
4' Manchon draws a foul from Camavinga, but the resulting cross from Fernandez fails to beat the first Madrid defender.
3' Gomis makes a break down the left flank and tries to get the better of Ceballos, but the midfielder does enough to force the mistake from the full-back.
2' Cacereno win an early free-kick that Merenciano knocks into the box, but Militao rises highest to clear the danger for the visitors.
1' We're under way at the Principe Felipe.
Madrid have not won the Copa del Rey since 2014.
Los Blancos have made nine changes to their side that beat Valladolid last week as Ancelotti rests the majority of his key men. Only Asensio and Ceballos retain their places in the starting line-up. Vazquez, Militao, Nacho and Odriozola still make a solid defence ahead of Lunin between the posts. Tchouameni and Camavinga slot into the middle of the park, while Rodrygo and Hazard join Asensio in the final third.
Cacereno have made seven changes to their side that beat Girona last time out in the Copa del Rey. Molina, Aguado and Josin all come into the back four, while Clausi gets the nod in the middle of the park. Fernandez, Telles and Merenciano also come into the fold. Grande, Manchon, Gomis and Moreno all retain their spots.

Madrid left it late on their return to action to defeat Real Valladolid last time out in LaLiga. Two strikes from Karim Benzema, including one from the penalty spot, were enough to secure the three points for Carlo Ancelotti's men. They crashed out of the Copa del Rey in the quarter-finals last season and have not won the cup since 2014. Los Blancos will be eyeing a deeper run in their bid to reach the final to end their drought in the competition.
Cacereno have produced an impressive run of form in the Copa del Rey to advance to the third round. Julio Cobos' men defeated Cordoba in the first round with a fine 3-0 victory before edging out Girona last time out to set up the showdown against Los Blancos. No one will be expecting much from the fourth division outfit tonight, but they are in good form and will aim to give Madrid a run for their money.
Hello and welcome to the live commentary of the third round Copa del Rey clash between Cacereno and Real Madrid at the Principe Felipe.
