Madrid are next in action against Villarreal on the road on Saturday in LaLiga. Cacereno are on the road on Sunday in their next outing against Montijo.

Real Madrid advance to the Copa del Rey round of 16 with an unconvincing 1-0 win over Cacereno at the Principe Felipe. Rodrygo Silva scored the only goal of the game to secure the victory for Los Blancos, who were off form for the majority of the contest. The fourth division outfit gave them all they could handle, although the hosts were unable to make their impressive play count in front of goal. Madrid march on to the next round of the competition.

Cacereno put a lot of effort into the first half and it will be interesting whether they can sustain those levels in the second period. Madrid may receive a few stern words from Ancelotti at the interval, which is likely to fire them into action.

It's goalless at the break in the Copa del Rey clash between Cacereno and Real Madrid. The fourth division outfit have been the better team and could have taken the lead through Samuel Manchon, who saw his effort creep narrowly past the post. Madrid have offered very little in the final third, which will concern Carlo Ancelotti given the talent out on the field.

38' CLOSE! Militao gives the ball away and it allows Manchon to shoot on the turn. His effort takes a deflection off Nacho and creeps just past the left post.

37' OVER! Clausi feeds a pass to the feet of Telles, who shoots on his left foot with power. He gets a good connection, only to send his effort over the bar.

37' Telles takes the resulting free-kick and arcs his left-footed cross to the back post, but his delivery has too much height on it.

36' Manchon provides problems for Madrid down the right flank and draws a foul from Odriozola to earn a free-kick.

34' Madrid win a corner down the right flank that Asensio curls into the box. Militao wins the header, but he sends a tame effort straight at Moreno.

32' SAVE! Manchon works the ball into the feet of Grande in the inside-right channel. The forward turns and shoots on his left foot towards the bottom-right corner, but Lunin gets down to make a solid stop.

30' Cacereno appeal for a penalty for handball against Ceballos as he clears from a Merenciano cross. The ball strikes the midfielder after he challenges Grande in the air, but there does not appear to be any contact with the arm.

25' Madrid are not finding a rhythm in their passing game. It has been a long time since a lot of these players have played together.

23' Cacereno win a free-kick down the right flank that Merenciano whips into the box. His delivery is cleared as far as Gomis, who tries to send Manchon over the top in the inside-left channel. But, the ball skips off the pitch and out for a goal-kick. It was almost a clever move from the hosts.

21' The home side can afford to be very pleased with their performance in the opening 21 minutes. They've kept Madrid off balance and have looked lively in the final third.

18' Merenciano and Manchon combine with a sublime one-two down the left flank. The former has space to deliver a cross, but he fails to beat the first defender.

12' Asensio breaks into the inside-right channel before he sees his cutback cleared. Madrid sustain the pressure through Rodrygo down the left, but he gets crowded out before he can threaten.

8' Asensio finally finds space down the right flank and he offloads to Vazquez to float a cross into the box. Rodrygo is postioned at the back post, but it proves to be an easy claim for Moreno.

Madrid have not won the Copa del Rey since 2014.

Los Blancos have made nine changes to their side that beat Valladolid last week as Ancelotti rests the majority of his key men. Only Asensio and Ceballos retain their places in the starting line-up. Vazquez, Militao, Nacho and Odriozola still make a solid defence ahead of Lunin between the posts. Tchouameni and Camavinga slot into the middle of the park, while Rodrygo and Hazard join Asensio in the final third.

Cacereno have made seven changes to their side that beat Girona last time out in the Copa del Rey. Molina, Aguado and Josin all come into the back four, while Clausi gets the nod in the middle of the park. Fernandez, Telles and Merenciano also come into the fold. Grande, Manchon, Gomis and Moreno all retain their spots.

Madrid left it late on their return to action to defeat Real Valladolid last time out in LaLiga. Two strikes from Karim Benzema, including one from the penalty spot, were enough to secure the three points for Carlo Ancelotti's men. They crashed out of the Copa del Rey in the quarter-finals last season and have not won the cup since 2014. Los Blancos will be eyeing a deeper run in their bid to reach the final to end their drought in the competition.

Cacereno have produced an impressive run of form in the Copa del Rey to advance to the third round. Julio Cobos' men defeated Cordoba in the first round with a fine 3-0 victory before edging out Girona last time out to set up the showdown against Los Blancos. No one will be expecting much from the fourth division outfit tonight, but they are in good form and will aim to give Madrid a run for their money.
