Kaizer Chiefs were held to a 0-0 draw by a stubborn AmaZulu FC side in a semi-final second-leg encounter at Moses Mabhida Stadium.
As a result, the Glamour Boys were eliminated from the tournament on the away goals rule having drawn 1-1 with Usuthu at home in the first-leg clash three weeks ago.
Several Chiefs players underperformed on the day and GOAL runs the rule over the individual performances of the Amakhosi players.
Petersen got off to a shaky start as he gave away possession, but Sphesihle Maduna failed to punish him. He made one save through out the game and he was not seriously tested after the restart.
Solid defensively as he contained Frank Mhango.
Frosler ensured that Mhango remained silent, but he didn't offer much going forward and this lead to his substitution after the restart as Amakhosi pushed for a goal.
Also played well defensively.
Hlanti his usual imperious self in defence - making well-timed tackles and clearances, but his attacking output was a bit more limited.
Showed why he is Chiefs' first-choice centre-back.
Kwinika played his role well, making many last-ditch tackles and interceptions. He was also vocal at the back as he organised the defence and showed his leadership skills.
Bullied by Augustine Chidi Kwem.
Dove struggled with Kwem who is used his physicality and pace very well especially in the first-half. However, he wasn't seriously tested after the restart as Chiefs were controlling the game.
Mixed display at the heart of Chiefs' midfield.
Blom was outsmarted by George Maluleka in their midfield battle in the first-half, but he improved after the restart and he was substituted towards the end of the game.
Struggled to stamp his authority in midfield.
Maart misplaced his passes at times with Man of the Match Maluleka running the show in the middle of the park. He is struggling to regain the form he displayed at the start of this season.
Poor performance.
Probably identified as the main threat by AmaZulu, Sekgota was neutralized by the Usuthu defence throughout the game. He was never a threat to the hosts' backline as Chiefs failed to register a shot on target.
Started well.
Du Preez was full of running in the opening stages - pressing AmaZulu defenders, but his influence waned after the restart and he was substituted.
Neutralised by Makhehlene Makhaula
Dolly started well firing Chiefs' first shot at goal which went wide, but he was then marked tightly by Makhaula who even injured the Amakhosi vice-captain with a dangerous challenge.
Failed to make an impact.
Bimenyimana's positioning in the box and first touch were poor when Chiefs were attacking and he had to substituted due to an injury just after the hour-mark.
Came on in the 62th minute and he had a few touches in AmaZulu's half without really unsettling the hosts' backline .
Couldn't make an impact having been introduced in the 71st minute as most of his forward passes were intercepted.
Introduced in the 85th minute and he did not do enough to warrant a rating.
Came on at the same time as Matlou.
