Everton's move for Harrington in doubt after injury


Everton have long been linked with a move for Cork City's young goalkeeper David Harrington. However, the Toffees have been dealt a blow in their pursuit of the 22-year-old.

He is set to undergo shoulder surgery next month and that could put his move to Merseyside in jeopardy. The Irish Independent have claimed a deal was agreed in principle in the region of £100,000 with add-ons but it has now been thrown into doubt.

Vitoria Guimaraes confirm new contract for highly-rated Bamba


Ibrahima Bamba has made quite the impression for Vitoria Guimaraes in the last couple of seasons. The 20-year-old's performances have put some of Europe's top clubs on alert.

For that reason, the Portuguese side have worked hard to get him tied down to a new deal and, earlier this evening, they announced that he has signed a new contract at the club until 2026.

Galatasaray want Ronaldo


Cristiano Ronaldo has reportedly been told he can leave Manchester United in January after making it clear he wanted to agree a departure during the summer.

The latest club to declare their interest in the 37-year-old is Galatasaray, according to fotoMac in Turkey. Whether he would be interested in such a move at this stage of his career is unclear.

'Just a matter of time' before Benzema extends Real Madrid stay


Karim Benzema is seemingly on the verge of extending his Real Madrid contract. Writing on Twitter, Fabrizio Romano said: "Karim has already confirmed to Real Madrid his intention to accept the proposal and continue there until June 2024, so it’s just a matter of time.

"Florentino Perez, Carlo Ancelotti and the whole board are together on this decision."

Leeds set for transfer battle with AC Milan for Okafor


Noah Okafor has caught the attention of plenty of clubs around Europe with his performances for Red Bull Salzburg over the last couple of seasons.

With the former manager of the Austrian side at the helm, Leeds are said to be exploring the possibility of signing the 22-year-old. According to Calciomercato, the Premier League side will face competition from AC Milan if they do pursue a move.

Zubimendi close to new Real Sociedad contract amid Barcelona links


At some point in the next couple of years, Barcelona will be faced with the task of replacing Sergio Busquets. Martin Zubimendi is one of the players to have been linked with a move to Catalonia but it doesn't look like that will be the case.

Speaking to Mundo Deportivo, Real Sociedad's president - Jokin Aperribay - has claimed the 23-year-old is on the verge of signing a new deal in San Sebastian. He said: "We are very close to having an agreement. I want Martin Zubimendi to develop his entire career at Real."

Man United could look to Frimpong to solve right-back void


Right-back is a position, seen by many, as a weakness at Manchester United. That is also seemingly the opinion of Erik ten Hag who, according to The Express, will delve into the full-back market over the coming weeks and months.

Bayer Leverkusen's Jeremie Frimpong is a player who has reportedly drawn the attention of those at Old Trafford and they may eventually pursue a move for him.

Chelsea midfielder Kante looking for options


N'Golo Kante is looking for greener pastures as he thinks that the club might not be willing to meet his demands for a contract extension, according to FootMercato.

The report also mentions that the World Cup winner wants to continue in London, so that narrows down the options to Arsenal & Tottenham. PSG were also interested to sign him but the midfielder is not keen to go to Paris.

Griezmann to stay at Atletico Madrid


Antoine Griezmann will continue to stay at Atletico Madrid, according to Fabrizio Romano.

Barcelona are set to receive €20m plus add-ons [around €2m] from the sale as the French international moves permanently to the capital.

Griezmann himself wanted to continue under Diego Simeone and had no intention to go back to Barcelona.

Sampaoli takes charge at Sevilla


Jorge Sampaoli returns to Sevilla as the head coach, the club announced on Thursday.

He had earlier managed the Andalusian outfit in the 2016-17 season before moving on to join the Argentine national team.

His previous assignment was with Olympique Marseille. He guided the team to a second-spot finish in Ligue 1 and also led them to the Conference League semi-finals last year.

Arsenal plot Taremi move


Arsenal are eager to land Mehdi Taremi of Iran in the January transfer window, as reported by TeamTalk via Portuguese outlet A Bola.

The Porto forward is in blazing form and has seven goals and six assists in just 11 games. If he joins Arsenal then he would be a solid backup for Gabriel Jesus.

Newcastle leading race to sign Depay


Newcastle United are close to signing Barcelona forward Memphis Depay, according to TuttoJuve.

American consortium LAMF Global Ventures Corp are willing to open talks for a potential takeover of Everton, according to the Liverpool Echo.

However, they need to convince current owner, Farhad Moshiri, to put the club up for sale. In the summer, real estate tycoon Maciek Kaminski expressed his desire to take over the club but then Moshiri released an open letter to fans stating that he does not intend to sell Everton.

Keita won't negotiate contract extension until January


Naby Keita is in no hurry to negotiate a new contract with Liverpool and is willing to wait until January, according to Christian Falk.

The midfielder will be a free agent next summer and the Reds want to tie him down for the future.

Sampdoria gets Stankovic as new coach


Dejan Stankovic has been appointed as the new coach of Sampdoria.

He was the former manager of Red Star Belgrade and worked as an assistant at Serie A outfit Udinese.

The club sacked Marco Giampaolo after a poor start to the season where they could pick up just two points from eight matches.

Wolverhampton Wanderers are keen to get Julien Lopetegui as their new manager according to talkSPORT.

After the departure of Bruno Lage, the Midlands outfit are looking for a manager and the Spaniard happens to be on the top of their wish list.

Lopetegui is currently free after he was shown the door by Sevilla following the defeat to Borussia Dortmund.

Spurs face competition from Everton and BVB for Kudus


Mohammed Kudus is in heavy demand as he is being chased by Tottenham Hotspur, Everton, and german outfit Borussia Dortmund, according to Bild.

Liverpool is keen to get on board Rennes forward Kamaldeen Sulemana, according to a report in Spanish news outlet Nacional.

Jurgen Klopp is impressed with the abilities of the winger, who can play on both the flanks, and wants to bring him to Anfield.

There was a wide understanding that the Champions League clash against Dortmund would be Julen Lopetegui's last game in charge of Sevilla.

The La Liga side were beaten 4-1 by their German opponents and the 56-year-old was relieved of his duties almost immediately after the match. Jorge Sampaoli is set to replace Lopetegui.

Arsenal set to extend Saka contract


Arsenal have agreed in principle to extend the contract of Bukayo Saka, according to Football Insider.

It has been reported that the 21-year-old midfielder will be earning close to £200,000-a-week after signing the new deal. He will be one of the highest-paid players at the Emirates along with Gabriel Jesus and Thomas Partey.

His current deal runs till the summer of 2024.
