The referee blows the final whistle to bring to an end a humiliating outing for Shakhtar as they fall to a heavy 7-1 defeat, with Feyenoord 8-2 winners on aggregate. A 1-1 draw in the first leg meant this tie was finely poised, but it was effectively over by the break as a double from Kokcu and a Gimenez strike had the Dutch side three goals up. The visitors collapsed after the interval, with Idrissi scoring two excellent goals before Jahanbakhsh and Danilo scored to secure their team's progression, though the Ukrainian side did get a consolidation late on through Kelsy.

They were ruthless in the first half, going ahead after just nine minutes when some clever footwork from Gimenez ended with him slotting past Trubin. The Shakhtar goalkeeper was beaten again shortly after, as some sloppy defending from the visitors gave Kokcu the time to pick his spot and double Feyenoord's lead. The tie was surely put to bed seven minutes before the interval, as the referee pointed to the spot for Konoplia's handball from Lopez's cross, with Gimenez adding his second of the game to put his team into an excellent position to reach the last eight.

The tie is finely poised after a 1-1 draw in the first leg in Warsaw, with the Dutch side hoping to utilise home advantage to reach the quarter-finals of this competition for the first time since the 2001-02 season, when they went on to lift the trophy.
