Commentary

Thanks for joining us for Feyenoord's 7-1 win over Shakhtar Donetsk in the second leg of their Europa League round-of-16 clash at De Kuip. Goodbye!
Shakhtar will now turn their attentions back to their domestic duties after crashing out of Europe, hosting Rukh Vynnyky on Sunday as they look to get their season back on track. For Feyenoord, they can now look forward to the quarter-final draw on Friday to find out who stands between them and the final four.
The referee blows the final whistle to bring to an end a humiliating outing for Shakhtar as they fall to a heavy 7-1 defeat, with Feyenoord 8-2 winners on aggregate. A 1-1 draw in the first leg meant this tie was finely poised, but it was effectively over by the break as a double from Kokcu and a Gimenez strike had the Dutch side three goals up. The visitors collapsed after the interval, with Idrissi scoring two excellent goals before Jahanbakhsh and Danilo scored to secure their team's progression, though the Ukrainian side did get a consolidation late on through Kelsy.
90' FULL-TIME: FEYENOORD 7-1 SHAKHTAR DONETSK
M. Matvienko
Assist
87' Matvyenko's long ball upfield was seized upon by Kelsy, before the forward finished it off.
K. Kelsy
Goal
87' GOAL!!! Kelsy pulls a late consolation back, latching onto a long throughball before poking past Wellenreuther to make it 7-1.
84' This has the feel of a training ground exercise now, with the hosts content to keep the ball and see out the remaining minutes.
H. Sudakov
Yellow Card
81' Sudakov goes in the book for bringing down Danilo.
79' Slot's men have managed 10 shots on target to Shakhtar's one.
76' The visitors look a completely beaten team now, with the hosts still pressing to add to their advantage.
74' Feyenoord have scored seven goals off just 1.57 xG (expected goals).
71' Feyenoord are currently unbeaten in nine home matches in major European competitions (seven wins, two draws), scoring 25 goals across this run. They have not gone 10 home matches without defeat at this level since September 1987 to November 1992 (won seven, drawn three), though that looks to be changing here.
M. Taabouni
O. Kökçü
68' Kokcu's dazzling performance is over, as he comes off for Taabouni.
Danilo
Goal
66' GOAL!!! Feyenoord make it 7-0! The ball sits up nicely for Danilo on the edge of the box, and he slots into the bottom left corner past a despairing Trubin as the visitors continue to fall apart.
D. Hancko
Assist
64' Hancko played the ball into Jahanbakhsh before the former Brighton and Hove Albion man buried his effort.
A. Jahanbakhsh
Goal
64' GOAL!!! It is 6-0!!! Jahanbakhsh is the scorer, receiving the ball in space before slotting into the bottom right corner from range. This is getting humiliating for Shakhtar now.

52' Feyenoord accumulated 89 per cent of the game’s expected goals (xG) in the first leg (2.03 to Shakhtar’s 0.25); the only match to see a side recording a larger share of a game’s total expected goals in the Europa League this season without winning was Sporting CP (2.65) vs FC Midtjylland (0.22) in February (92 per cent - 1-1 draw).
M. Wieffer
Assist
49' Wieffer found Idrissi before the wide-man superbly beat Trubin with his right-footed effort.
O. Idrissi
Goal
49' GOAL!!! What a strike! It is the left-winger Idrissi, who takes advantage of Shakhtar sloppily giving possession away again by cutting onto his right foot and curling into the far corner. Feyenoord lead 4-0!
46' The hosts get us back underway for the second period.
N. Đurasek
D. Kryskiv
46' Kryskiv makes way for Durasek at the interval.
Jovicevic's side look to have little chance of staging a dramatic comeback, but if they are, they must conjure up more of an attacking threat having not registered a shot on target so far in this second leg.
The referee blows the whistle for half-time and it is so far, so good for the hosts as they take a commanding 3-0 second-leg lead and 4-1 aggregate advantage into the break. They were ruthless in the first half, going ahead after just nine minutes when some clever footwork from Gimenez ended with him slotting past Trubin. The Shakhtar goalkeeper was beaten again shortly after, as some sloppy defending from the visitors gave Kokcu the time to pick his spot and double Feyenoord's lead. The tie was surely put to bed seven minutes before the interval, as the referee pointed to the spot for Konoplia's handball from Lopez's cross, with Gimenez adding his second of the game to put his team into an excellent position to reach the last eight.
45' + 2' HALF-TIME: FEYENOORD 3-0 SHAKHTAR DONETSK
45' There will be one minute of additional time at the end of this first half.
42' Wellenreuther makes a big stop to deny Traore after the striker was set through on goal, but it would not have counted anyway as a delayed flag goes up for offside.
40' Close! Gimenez perhaps should do better as the ball sits up for him to take aim at Trubin's goal, but he sends his effort soaring over the crossbar and into the stands.
O. Kökçü
Penalty Goal
38' GOAL!!! Kokcu makes no mistake from the spot, sending Trubin the wrong way and drilling into the bottom left corner, and Feyenoord have what is surely an unassailable 4-1 advantage on aggregate.
37' PENALTY TO FEYENOORD! Lopez gets to the byline before lofting a cross over. However, before it can reach his team-mates in the middle, it hits Konoplia's arm as he tries to slide to block it. The referee points to the spot, and the hosts will have a chance to surely send them through.
34' Geertruida makes a vital interception to nick the ball away from Sudakov and prevent him getting a shot away at goal after the ball fell kindly to him in the hosts' box.
33' That will just be a warning to Feyenoord that the job is not done here, despite their early dominance in this second leg.
31' So unlucky! Sudakov tries his luck with an ambitious right-footed effort from range, but it crashes off the crossbar and bounces away from danger. That would have been some strike!
29' Feyenoord have scored nine first-half goals in eight Europa League matches this season, more than any other team.
26' It is a long way back now for Shakhtar if they are to get back into this game and reach the final eight of the competition.
S. Szymański
Assist
24' Szymanski picked out Kokcu in space before the midfielder fired home.
O. Kökçü
Goal
24' GOAL!!! Kokcu makes it 2-0!!! It is another sublime finish, as the midfielder picks up the ball in acres of space before setting his sights on the bottom left corner. He lets fly from range, firing past Trubin to double Feyenoord's lead.
22' Trubin makes a pair of important stops to deny Lopez and then Idrissi to keep his side just the one goal behind.
A. Bondarenko
Yellow Card
20' Bondarenko receives the first booking of the contest for a very heavy challenge on Kokcu. There is a VAR check to assess whether it was a red card challenge, but it decides a yellow is fair punishment.
17' Shakhtar have had 67.2 per cent of the possession so far, though they are yet to manage an attempt at Wellenreuther's goal.
15' A loose pass by a Shakhtar player gives Szymanski the ball in a dangerous situation. He ignores options to his left and right and decides to shoot, which ultimately proves to be a poor decision as it flies well wide.
13' Close! Jahanbakhsh picks up the ball and decides to let fly from distance. His effort looks threatening, but ends up going wide of the left post.
11' Shakhtar have lost each of their last two away games in the Europa League, and could lose three such games in a row for the first time. They will have to come from behind if they are to prevent that happening here.
A. Jahanbakhsh
Assist
9' Jahanbakhsh laid the ball off to Gimenez before the striker excellently did the rest.
S. Giménez
Goal
9' GOAL!!! Feyenoord take the lead!!! It is a brilliant goal from Gimenez, who picks up the ball from Jahanbakhsh before driving into the box. Some quick feet nips the ball away from Bondar, creating the space for him to lash home and put his team 1-0 up and 2-1 ahead on aggregate!
8' Feyenoord are winless in Europe against Shakhtar (one draw, two defeats), although they did avoid defeat against them for the first time in the first leg, earning a draw with an 88th-minute equaliser.
5' It has been a cagey opening so far, with both teams yet to get into their full attacking flow.
3' The hosts are looking to press their opponents high up the pitch and win the ball in dangerous areas. Can they catch Shakhtar out?
1' The visitors kick us off and we are underway!
The two teams make their way onto the pitch ahead of this vital Europa League clash.
Visiting boss Igor Jovicevic names just two changes from Sunday's 3-0 away victory at Kryvbas, as Durasek drops to the bench for Kryskiv while Traore starts ahead of Sikan up front.
Home head coach Arne Slot makes four changes from the 2-1 league victory over Volendam at the weekend, as Trauner and Lopez come into the defence for Pedersen and Quilindschy Hartman. Jahanbakhsh is preferred to Dilrosun on the right, while Szymanski is in for Danilo in midfield.

The visitors are also top of their domestic league, rattling off four straight victories to give them a three-point gap to their closest challengers. They have history in this competition too, beating Werder Bremen in the 2008-09 final to lift their first and only European trophy. Just one victory in their six Champions League group-stage matches saw them drop into the Europa League, but a dramatic penalty shoot-out victory over French side Rennes in the play-off round kept their hopes of collecting more European silverware this season alive.
The tie is finely poised after a 1-1 draw in the first leg in Warsaw, with the Dutch side hoping to utilise home advantage to reach the quarter-finals of this competition for the first time since the 2001-02 season, when they went on to lift the trophy. They are enjoying an impressive campaign, not tasting defeat in their last 19 matches in all competitions to leave them top of the Eredivisie and with a strong chance of picking up silverware.
