8th Finals
UEFA Europa League

That is all for tonight folks, thanks for joining us. Goodbye!
Leverkusen travel to Madrid next time out to face Atletico in the competition, while Club Brugge host Porto in what could be a dramatic tie in Belgium.
Leverkusen will certainly feel robbed after a strong performance, but the Champions League takes no prisoners. Porto rode their luck and then converted their chances when it mattered. Conceicao's side are now second in the table, four points behind Club Brugge.
Leverkusen are given a lesson in finishing as they lose 3-0 at home, which could all but end their chances of reaching the knockout stages of the Champions League. Porto were ahead after six minutes when Gelano latched onto Costa's pass before dribbling his way into the box and finding the bottom corner. The home side responded well and were awarded a penalty when Bakker was brought down in the box, although they needed VAR to overturn the original decision of a dive. Costa saved Demirbay's effort, while Adil's first-half goal was chalked off for offside, with his strike hitting Schick before the ball hit the net. At 0-1, Leverkusen were still in the tie, but two penalties put the game beyond doubt. VAR came to Porto's aid for the first, with the referee initially deciding the challenge was outside the area. However, replays showed Adil's tackle on Gelano was inside the box, allowing Taremi to fire down the middle. Gelano was then fouled by Kossounou in the box before Taremi curled his shot off the post and into the back of the net.
Gonçalo Borges
Yellow Card
90' + 2' Goncalo Borges is booked for trying to slow the game down!
Toni Martínez
S. Eustáquio
90' + 2' Eustaquio is given a huge pat on the back by the Porto coaching staff as he is replaced by Martinez.
D. Namaso
M. Taremi
90' + 2' Taremi's night is over, with Loader getting a few minutes to impress.
90' Five minutes of stoppage time to come at the BayArena.
T. Fosu-Mensah
M. Diaby
88' Diaby limps off the field and is replaced by Fosu-Mensah.
87' The game comes to a halt after an injury to Diaby, and he may need to be replaced for the final few minutes.
Gonçalo Borges
85' Here comes the subs for Porto, with Galeno the latest player to be subbed for Goncalo Borges.
Yellow Card
84' Paulinho's poorly-timed challenge on Pepe earns him a yellow card.
82' Alonso has his work cut out to improve Leverkusen's fortunes, with their league form a major concern. Should the score stay the same, they will be rooted to the bottom of Group B, and they need to vastly improve in the final third if they are to have any chance of finishing second or even dropping into the Europa League thanks to a third-placed finish.
80' Pepe forces Hradecky into a save at one end before Costa comes to the rescue at the other. Diaby's curling effort with his left foot was going in, but Costa's reflexes forced the hosts to settle for a corner.
76' To their credit, Leverkusen's fans have not stopped supporting their squad throughout the second half. Even as Porto punished them on two occasions, Alonso's side have the backing of those in the stands!
73' WIDE! Schick wastes another good chance to score, and Leverkusen must be feeling like they have been cursed tonight. Diaby's good work on the counter-attack deserved more of a reward, but Schick's shooting boots must have been left at home.
72' Porto have won three penalties in the Champions League this season, only Napoli (5) have been awarded more.
E. Tapsoba
O. Kossounou
69' Kossounou also makes his way to the bench, with Tapsoba given 20 minutes to impress.
A. Hložek
C. Hudson-Odoi
69' Hudson-Odoi's miss was his involvement in the game, with Hlozek on in his place.
68' CHANCE! Hudson-Odoi fires wide from inside the box, forcing Alonso to kick fresh air in frustration on the sideline. However, the Leverkusen coach can relax a little as his shot took a deflection on its way to goal.
M. Bakker
Yellow Card
65' Bakker's temper has got the better of him, and his latest rant at the referee results in a yellow card.
M. Taremi
Penalty Goal
64' GOAAALLL - LEVERKUSEN 0-3 PORTO - Taremi gets his second goal from the spot, but this time, Hradecky got a hand to his shot. The Porto striker used less power than in his previous effort, but he put the ball too far in the corner for the Leverkusen keeper, who could only tip the ball onto the post before it sailed into the net.
P. Hincapié
Yellow Card
63' Hincapie is booked for dissent after voicing his concerns over the penalty.
63' Gelano is involved again, and the referee claims he was fouled by Kossounou as he tried to cut the ball back for a team-mate. It will be Taremi to take the penalty!
60' Leverkusen are not playing with the same zip and determination as they were in the first half, and that second goal appears to have taken the wind out of their sails.
A. Adli
57' Alonso turns to his bench, with Adli making way for Paulinho.
55' Porto have scored from their last 11 penalties awarded in the Champions League, last failing to score in September 2018, when Alex Telles missed against Schalke.
M. Taremi
Penalty Goal
53' GOAAALL - LEVERKUSEN 0-2 PORTO - Taremi took his time, but he made no mistake from the penalty spot, sending Hradecky the wrong way. The Porto ace placed his shot down the middle, and Porto, despite being second-best tonight, have a two-goal cushion. Gelano, who scored the first goal, was fouled by Adli and the officials made the correct decision after a VAR check.
52' PENALTY PORTO! VAR tells referee Istvan Kovacs to give the penalty, and the visitors can double their lead!!
51' Gelano wins a free-kick for his side on the edge of the Leverkusen box, but that looked to be inside. The officials need to look at this!
50' Nothing comes from the resulting corner and it remains 0-1 to Porto.
48' BLOCK! Cardoso comes to the rescue for Porto as he gets in the way of Adli's shot. Diaby's cutback for his team-mate allowed him to shoot first time in the box, but his left-footed curling effort, which was destined to hit the net, was turned behind for a corner thanks to a superb diving lunge by Cardoso.
João Mário
46' Porto made a change at the break, with Joao Mario replaced by Evanilson.
46' We are back underway in Germany!
Alonso will not need to be too harsh on his players after that display, and they should arguably be in front, never mind behind. If they can keep up that same intensity and bring Schick into the action, they should draw level soon enough. Porto have defended well, but it should only be a matter of time before Costa fails to bail them out of trouble.
Galeno's goal in the sixth minute is the difference between the two teams as they enter the tunnel for half-time. Porto's only half-decent attack resulted in the goal, with Costa's powerful looping pass finding Galeno on the wing. He did the rest, twisting his way through the Leverkusen defence before finding the bottom corner. Since then, it has been one-way traffic, but Leverkusen have been unable to draw level. Although he was initially booked for diving, the referee changed his mind after consulting VAR. Costa denied Demirbay after a strong save, while Adli's equaliser was cancelled out as his shot hit Schick, who handled the ball before it hit the back of the net.
45' OVER! A rare foray into the box from Schick gets the home fans excited, but that does not last long as the Leverkusen forward blasts his shot into the stands from inside the box, and that should be the last action of the first half.
44' One minute of stoppage time to come at the BayArena!
41' Porto have only had three shots, and their only one on target means they lead by a single goal. Conceicao's side have been clinical, but they need to do more to protect their lead.
38' Schick has also barely had any service, and the home side will get no joy on the scoresheet if that does not change.
35' GOAL DISALLOWED! Adli fires Leverkusen level before a VAR check ruins his moment and keeps the scoreline at 0-1. Hudson-Odoi's cutback picked out the midfielder, who dispatched the ball past Costa. However, it took a deflection off Schick on its way to goal, and VAR officials ruled it was a handball. Replays also suggest he was offside anyway!
33' CHANCE! Costa keeps Porto in front with a smart save at his near post. Leverkusen left-back Bakker tried to squeeze his shot inside the frame of the goal, but he had to settle for a corner instead.
João Mário
Yellow Card
32' Joao Mario becomes the first player to be carded after a strong challenge in midfield.
30' While Diaby and Adli have seen plenty of the ball, Leverkusen need to get Hudson-Odoi involved before the interval. The winger has barely had a kick tonight, but Porto do deserve praise for marking him so tightly.
27' Leverkusen continue to dominate possession and dictate the tempo, but Porto are defending brilliantly so far.
24' Porto have just started to retreat back towards their own box, and they currently have every player behind the ball trying to protect their slender advantage.
22' WIDE! Diaby fails to test Costa in the Porto goal as he drags a left-footed shot past the near post. The Leverkusen midfielder is getting into some good positions, but so far, he has been unable to find a way past the Porto goalkeeper.
20' Leverkusen enjoyed 67.0% possession during the opening 15 minutes of this game, but Alonso knows how brutal the Champions League can be, and Porto have simply been more clinical inside the early stages.
18' Conceicao was carded after that spell of carnage inside the Porto box, and the visitors need to keep their cool after keeping hold of the lead.
K. Demirbay
Penalty Miss
16' Demirbay will be kicking himself for missing, but it was certainly a decent effort, and the praise should mainly go to Costa.
Diogo Costa
Penalty Save
16' Penalty Save Diogo Meireles da Costa
15' PENALTY LEVERKUSEN! The referee consults the pitchside monitor, while Bakker's yellow card is now cancelled.
13' Leverkusen are furious as Bakker's penalty claims are ignored; instead, he will be carded for diving. He is adamant he was fouled inside the Porto box, and replays suggest he has a serious argument.
11' Club Brugge held Atletico Madrid to a goalless draw earlier this evening, so as it stands, Porto have moved into second in the table, two points ahead of Diego Simeone's men.
8' So Alonso's first Bundesliga match got off to the perfect start; it is now up to the Spaniard to prove himself in Europe after a disappointing opening few minutes.
6' GOAAAALLLLL - LEVERKUSEN 0-1 PORTO - WHAT A START! Porto open the scoring with their first attack of the match, and they make it look straightforward. Costa picked out Galeno near the halfway line from inside his own box, but the winger did the rest as he dribbled his way into the box before cutting inside and finding the bottom corner.
Diogo Costa
6' It is not every day you see a goalkeeper pick up an assist, but Costa's pass was weighted perfectly for Galeno, who then made light work of the Leverkusen defence.
4' The home fans have turned out in their numbers for tonight's battle, but they have seen minimal action inside the first few minutes.
1' We are underway in Germany!
The two teams are on the pitch, and we are just waiting for the Champions League anthem before the game can get underway.
Porto are winless in their last seven away games against German sides in all competitions since a 3-1 win at Hamburg in the 2006-07 Champions League.
Both Jeremie Frimpong and Robert Andrich miss out for Leverkusen through suspension, while Karim Bellarabi, Florian Wirtz, Sardar Azmoun and Exequiel Palacios are injured. Porto centre-back Pepe misses out due to a knee injury, a problem that may see him miss the World Cup in November.
SUBS: Marko Grujic, Danny Loader, Toni Martinez, Rodrigo Conceicao, Ivan Marcano, Claudio Ramos, Goncalo Borges, Gabriel Veron, Wendell, Evanilson, Bruno Costa, Bernardo Pereira Folha.
PORTO (4-4-1-1): Diogo Costa; Joao Mario, Fabio Cardoso, David Carmo, Zaidu Sanusi; Otavio (c), Mateus Uribe, Stephen Eustaquio, Wenderson Galeno; Pepe; Mehdi Taremi.
SUBS: Adam Hlozek, Ayman Azhil, Niklas Lomb, Nadiem Amiri, Andrey Lunev, Timothy Fosu-Mensah, Paulinho, Edmond Tapsoba.
BAYER LEVERKUSEN (3-4-2-1): Lukas Hradecky (c); Odilon Kossounou, Jonathan Tah, Piero Hincapie; Amine Adli, Kerem Demirbay, Charles Aranguiz, Mitchel Bakker; Moussa Diaby, Callum Hudson-Odoi; Patrik Schick.
Leverkusen's win was their first in three matches in all competitions, while Porto are unbeaten in four under coach Sergio Conceicao. The Portuguese giants have won three on the spin, only conceding one goal in the process
Porto's 2-0 win on home soil in the reverse fixture means both sides are now on three points after the first three games. Die Werkself decided to sack Gerardo Seoane after that result, with former Liverpool midfielder Xabi Alonso now at the helm. He got off to a perfect start at the weekend as Leverkusen ran out 4-0 winners against Schalke.
Good evening and welcome to tonight's live coverage of the Champions League clash between Bayer Leverkusen and Porto from Group B.
