PSL Golden Boot Power Ranking
The race for the PSL Golden Boot was intense this season, and two players emerged tied as joint top-scorers

The race for the coveted Premier Soccer League Golden Boot has been settled following the conclusion of the league campaign last weekend.

Peter Shalulile, Khanyisa Mayo, Monnapule Saleng, Ranga Chivaviro and Bradley Grobler were involved in the bid to be South Africa's top scorer?

Orlando Pirates wideman Saleng, reached double figures for the first time in his PSL career together with Chivaviro and Mayo to place themselves firmly in the running for this award.

The nets were bulging on a regular basis throughout the 2022-23 campaign, GOAL was on hand to monitor the exploits of the PSL's most prolific marksmen.

  1. Peter Shalulile

    #1 Peter Shalulile

Twelve goals for the Mamelodi Sundowns talisman and he again emerged as the top goal-scorer although he will have to share this award.

Mayo has become Cape Town City's star player in the current season and finished tied on 12 goals with Shalulile.

  3. Monnapule Saleng

    #3 Monnapule Saleng

Saleng has proved the doubters wrong at Pirates this season, and with 11 goals, it’s remarkable to think that the Buccaneers were at one point planning to send him away on loan.

  4. Bradley Grobler

    #4 Bradley Grobler

One of the most consistent goalscorers in the top flight, Grobler banged in 10 goals this season, having recently struck 100 career goals.

  5. Ranga Chivaviro

    #5 Ranga Chivaviro

Chivaviro netted 10 goals this season for Marumo Gallants —with his aerial ability proving particularly effective.

The Limpopo-born striker grabbed a hat-trick against Chippa United on April 12 as his season major highlight.

  6. Etiosa Ighodaro

Ighodaro’s 10 goals prove why Mamelodi Sundowns signed him.

The Nigerian striker has impressed at Chippa United whilst on loan from Sundowns.

  7. Cassius Mailula

    #7 Cassius Mailula

Perhaps the revelation of the PSL season, no one expected Mailula to score nine goals in his breakout campaign.

  8. Iqraam Rayners

    #8 Iqraam Rayners

SuperSport United coach Gavin Hunt might be regretting releasing Rayners to Stellenbosch in January.

After returning to the Cape Winelands, the 27-year-old was in terrific form, scoring nine goals in 10 games.

  9. Junior Mendieta

    #9 Junior Mendieta

Mendieta has been one of the PSL’s brightest performers this term, registering several vital assists as well as nine goals.

Chiefs are understood to be keen on his signature.

  10. Amadou Soukouna

    #10 Amadou Soukouna

Soukouna enjoyed himself at struggling Maritzburg United with eight goals, having previously featured for the likes of Toulouse and demonstrated his goalscoring class in Israel.

  11. #11 Sede Junior Dion

The Ivorian found himself on the PSL goalscoring charts with seven goals.

Dion’s highlight of the season was his goal against Kaizer Chiefs, when he capitalised on an Itumeleng Khune error to score in AmaZulu’s 4-0 rout.

  12. Bonfils-Caleb Bimenyimana

    #12 Bonfils-Caleb Bimenyimana

The Burundi international was Kaizer Chiefs' top scorer with seven goals and four of them came from the penalty spot.

The 24-year-old Ivorian grabbed seven goals, establishing himself as TS Galaxy’s dangerman.

  14. Terrence Dzvukamanja

The Zimbabwean was almost shipped out by Pirates but he repaid Riveiro's faith in him with seven goals and established himself as deadly with his head.
