    Seldomly threatened as he enjoyed a quiet evening between the sticks.

    Sandilands could only charge off of his line at times to punch the ball clear or make high claims as the Bucs defence looked solid and impenetrable.

    Rarely tested defensively at right-back with Al Ahli looking to attack down the centre. 

    Ndlovu ventured forward to help out the attack, but his deliveries lacked accuracy on the night.

    Did a good job pushing high up and exploiting the spaces behind the Al Ahli defence.

    Mako also combined well with his teammates on many occasions to work the ball around the visitors' half.

    Rock-solid at the back and he never gave Al Ahli an inch of space to work with.

    Nyauza also did well to cover up for Mako when left-back embarked upfield and took his goal very well when he opened the scoring.

    Led Pirates' backline with great composure on his return to the starting line-up.

    Jele won his duels against Al Ahli's centre forward Taha Qadri Atiyah and he did well to organise the backline.

    Played well as the anchor of the Pirates' ship in midfield.

    Motshwari's passes were incisive as he read the game very well and he made interceptions to stop Al Ahli in their tracks.

    His movements were a big problem for Al Ahlil all night.

    Dlamini made dangerous runs from midfield - forcing the visitors to commit several fouls and he managed to score after positioning himself well in the box.

    However, Makaringe couldn't really test the visitors most of the time and he also gave away possession in the final third at times.

    Mhango used his speed to unsettle the visitors' defence, but chances did not fell for him in the box.

    Mabasa also caused havoc for the visitors' defence with his imposing physique and he doubled Pirates' lead with a header.

    Keen to get involved in the game after coming on in the 70th minute and he forced Al Ahli goalkeeper Zuber Ateya into a magnificent save.
