Pele meets Nelson Mandela.
The world was plunged into grieving on Thursday following the death of the three-time Fifa World Cup winner

As prominent people around the world joined in paying tribute to the late Pele, South Africa was not left behind. Pele died on Tuesday at the age of 82 following a long battle with cancer.

Kaizer Chiefs led the paying of respects together with other Premier Soccer League clubs as well as high-profile figures in local football.

The PSL even asked for a moment of silence to be observed before the start of every league game this weekend.

The tributes highlighted how the Brazilian touched people in the world of football.
