As prominent people around the world joined in paying tribute to the late Pele, South Africa was not left behind. Pele died on Tuesday at the age of 82 following a long battle with cancer.
Kaizer Chiefs led the paying of respects together with other Premier Soccer League clubs as well as high-profile figures in local football.
The PSL even asked for a moment of silence to be observed before the start of every league game this weekend.
The tributes highlighted how the Brazilian touched people in the world of football.
