Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta has a number of big decisions to make ahead of the trip to Leeds in the Premier League.

Arsenal return to Premier League action on Sunday looking to make it seven wins from seven in all competitions.

Mikel Arteta’s side all but sealed qualification from the Europa League group stage with a 1-0 win at Bodo/Glimt on Thursday night and will now be hoping to cement their spot at the top of the Premier League at Elland Road.

So what’s the latest Arsenal team news and what lineup could Arteta go with in Yorkshire. GOAL takes a look at all the big talking points ahead of the game.

  • Gabriel Jesus

    Arsenal team news

Gabriel Jesus is expected to return after being rested for the midweek trip to Norway.

The Gunners top scorer was given some time off to recover after taking some big hits in the 3-2 success against Liverpool last week.

Oleksandr Zinchenko remains a doubt due to the muscle problem that saw him miss the win against Jurgen Klopp’s side, while long-term absentees Mohamed Elneny (hamstring) and Emile Smith Rowe (groin) remain on the sidelines.

The likes of Aaron Ramsdale, Gabriel Magalhaes, Granit Xhaka, Thomas Partey and Gabriel Martinelli are all set to return to the starting XI after being named amongst the substitutes against Bodo/Glimt.

  • takehiro-tomiyasu

    Talking point

One of the main talking points ahead of the game is what Arteta should do at left-back.

He brought Takehiro Tomiyasu into the starting lineup against Liverpool to do a job on Mohamed Salah and the Japan international did it superbly.

The big question now is whether Arteta keeps Tomiyasu, who is usually a right-back, on the left-hand side of the back four - should Zinchenko not pass his fitness test.

Kieran Tierney started at left-back against Bodo and it will be tough to keep the Scotland international happy if Tomiyasu is consistently picked ahead of him in the Premier League.

  • Gabriel Martinelli Arsenal 2022-23

    Key man

Gabriel Martinelli destroyed Leeds at Elland Road last season, scoring twice for Arsenal in a 4-1 win.

The Brazilian winger will be looking to repeat his heroics the time around and goes into the game in superb form, following his exceptional performance against Liverpool last weekend.

Leeds’ defence often gets exposed by pace, so Martinelli could be a real issue for Jeses Marsh’s side on Sunday.

The 21-year-old has four goals and two assists in nine Premier League games this season and will be looking to add to that tally at Elland Road.

  • Odegaard Arsenal 2022

    What has the captain said?

Speaking ahead of the game at Elland Road, Martin Odegaard insisted that no-one at Arsenal would be getting carried away by their winning run, but that he and his team-mates were determined to keep it going.

“We know the quality we have and we know the mindset we have now," Odegaard said.

“Everyone is ready for every game, for every action.

“That’s what it’s all about now, take it game by game and try to win every time we play, that’s what we want to do.

“We have to take it step-by-step, we’re not getting carried away, we have to stay calm and keep working hard and we’ll see.”

  • Arsenal predicted XI
