Chelsea swerve another injury nightmare! Mykhailo Mudryk trains with Ukraine after fitness scare against England in Euro 2024 qualifier

The 22-year-old winger was substituted late on in a Euro 2024 qualifier against the Three Lions on Saturday. He appeared to be suffering with a problem in his calf, with no risks being taken on his fitness. Mudryk had fallen awkwardly when attempting to change direction under pressure from Kyle Walker.

He was, however, able to take part in recovery session on Sunday, according to Standard Sport, and has been included in Serhiy Rebrov’s travelling party for another qualification clash with reigning European champions Italy in Milan on Tuesday.

Chelsea boss Mauricio Pochettino will be relieved to hear that another player has not been added to his ever-growing injury list at Stamford Bridge. The Blues are already without the likes of Christopher Nkunku, Wesley Fofana, Romeo Lavia, Reece James, Benoit Badiashile, Carney Chukwuemeka, Armando Broja and Marcus Bettinelli.

Mudryk has struggled to make an impact at Chelsea following his £89 million ($111m) transfer in January, and is still waiting on his first competitive goal after taking in 20 appearances, but there is plenty of potential to be unlocked in his game – with searing pace proving to be a useful asset.
