The second half continued in a similar vein: a superbly worked move ended with Yaremchuk steering a header in to double the lead. Gordon was forced into a string of fine saves: first, he tipped Yaremchuk's powerful effort over the bar, before making a stunning save to deny Yarmolenko from close range. However, Ukraine weren't to be denied and took the lead when Yarmolenko latched onto Malinovskiy's pass before lifting a superb finish over Gordon. 1' Scotland kick off the first half.
The players are emerging from the tunnel and the anthems are just seconds away!
Scotland will be buoyed by their excellent form in qualifying over the last five years. Since losing consecutive World Cup qualifying games in October/November 2016 against Slovakia and England, Scotland have only lost one of their last 16 World Cup qualifiers (W11 D4), a 2-0 defeat to Denmark in September 2021.
Ukraine last played a competitive game against Bosnia in November 2021. They make just two changes from that game: Tymchyk and Sobol make way for Karavaev and Mykolenko.
Scotland make six changes from their last friendly against Austria back in March. The main news is that Arsenal defender, Kieran Tierney, is injured and doesn’t make the squad. Hendry, Patterson, Ferguson, Jack and Armstrong also drop out with McTominay, Cooper, Hickey, Gilmour, McGregor and Dykes coming in.

Scotland are aiming to reach their first men's World Cup in 24 years, while Ukraine are hoping to add to their one appearance in 2006.
Hello and welcome to live commentary of this World Cup playoff semi-final between Scotland and Ukraine at Hampden Park.
