Final Tournament

That's all from us, we'll see you for the next international. Goodbye!
It's a win that doesn't mean a lot in terms of World Cup qualification, but it's one that sends Ian Baraclough's side third in Group C, and ensures that their disappointing campaign won't see them finish bottom of the table! That's more than can be said for Lithuania, who don't have any more games to play and will finish rock-bottom in the group.
Despite playing at centre-back, Paddy McNair was everywhere for Northern Ireland in this game. He led the way for his side in terms of passes, attacking passes, successful crosses and touches, and also completed two key passes and four interceptions. What a great performance from the Middlesbrough utility man.
Northern Ireland hang on for their second win of this qualifying campaign! It wasn't exactly pretty, especially that second half performance, but the early own goal from Satkus was all that Ian Baraclough's men needed to secure the three points! It won't amount to much, given that they can't qualify, but the home fans can be encouraged by the first half, that saw Lithuania completely dominated and given no chance to score themselves!
90' + 5' A ball into the hosts' box sees Satkus competing with Lewis, but the Lithuania defender's protests for a penalty are waved away by the referee.
90' + 3' McNair's been hobbling about for the last few minutes and looks to have picked up a knock, but he seems determined to stay on and help his teammates see out this win.
90' + 1' We're into five minutes of stoppage time as Northern Ireland look to close out this game, hanging onto their slim lead.
90' Novikovas looks to get away from Lewis off a corner, before Vaitkunas unleashes an absolute howler of a shot that flies high and wide of Peacock-Farrell's goal.
89' Novikovas cuts inside Lewis and looks to shoot, but his effort from the edge of the box is blocked almost immediately by Cathcart and the chance dissipates.
Jordan Jones
C. Washington
88' Washington's been very impressive for the hosts, and comes off for Jordan Jones.
D. Barauskas
Yellow Card
87' Barauskas clatters into Dallas, and is give the game's first yellow card just three minutes from time!
D. Šimkus
O. Verbickas
86' Verbickas also comes off, and Domantas Šimkus enters the fray.
V. Armanavičius
L. Mėgelaitis
86' Mėgelaitis is the next to robe replaced for Lithuania, and it's by Vilius Armanavičius.
84' A smart ball forward is flicked on by Davis, but Lewis can't get to the ball in time and it rolls out for a Lithuania throw.
82' Evans wins the ball deep inside Lithuania's half and looks to set up Washington. His shot on the turn is deflected and the hosts win a corner!
D. Kazlauskas
K. Laukžemis
80' Laukžemis is withdrawn for Lithuania, and Donatas Kazlauskas is his replacement.
79' Taylor surges forward and dribbles into the box, looking to round Gaspuitis and winning a corner!
D. Taylor
J. Magennis
78' Magennis has been unlucky not to get on the scoresheet, but his night's over as 17-year-old Dale Taylor comes on for his senior debut in his place.
77' Magennis looks to create a chance down the right, but Barauskas illegally puts paid to that by fouling the Northern Ireland striker.
V. Gašpuitis
M. Dapkus
75' Dapkus' night ends, with him coming off injured and Vytas Gašpuitis taking his place.
73' They haven't created much so far, but any chance of a Lithuania equaliser is likely to come through Novikovas on the wing. He's had a shot on target, two key passes, both of which came from crosses, and has also helped out defensively with two interceptions, too.
71' Washington cuts inside to create shooting space, and lets fly with a strong shot that's straight into the waiting arms of Setkus.
J. Lewis
S. Ferguson
70' Ferguson is also withdrawn, and Newcastle's Jamal Lewis takes his place on the left side.
C. Evans
G. Saville
70' Ian Barraclough makes his first rotations to the side as Saville comes off for Corry Evans.
68' Vaitkunas is lucky to avoid a booking as he fouls Saville, and repeatedly kicks the Northern Ireland midfielder as he tries to shield the ball!
66' McNair slips whilst in possession and Lithuania capitalise. The ball ends up with Novikovas, who jinks in and out of challenges before firing straight at Peacock-Farrell, who saves with little trouble.
64' In just his ninth senior cap, McCann has been a key cog in Northern Ireland's midfield in this game. He's completed two key passes and had two attempts on goal, one of which looked bound to bust the net before it was blocked away.
62' Magennis has the ball on the left and looks to cross, but the eventual ball resembles more of a shot and forces Setkus back into his goal as he palms the ball away from the net!!! That was going in too!
60' Novikovas cuts inside and whips in a cross towards the box. It's looping and draws out Peacock-Farrell, who is miles out of his goal as he tips the ball behind for a corner!
58' SAVED!!! Northern Ireland are camped in Lithuania's half, and McCann clips in a lovely cross from the edge of the box. It meets the head of Magennis, whose header is on-target but is easily caught by Setkus!
56' Lithuania try an out-ball towards Vaitkunas, but he's clattered from behind by Ferguson and wins a free-kick.
54' SAVED!!!! A bouncing ball in the Lithuania box falls the way of Savile. He connects well with it and Setkus is forced into another save to tip it around the outside of the post!
53' It's been a busy game so far for Magennis up front for Northern Ireland. Four of his ten duels have been aerial battles, and he's won a game-high four fouls, whilst conceding two himself.
51' CHANCE!!! Washington surges forward down the left and cuts the ball back from the goal-line. McCann and Magennis are within range but neither can get to the ball as Lithuania clear!
49' Lasickas drives a shot across goal, but it's rather wayward and flies away to the left of Peacock-Farrell's net.
48' A header forward towards Chernykh opens up a chance for the Lithuania midfielder to cross inside the box, but it's intercepted and cleared by Evans for a throw-in.
46' Washington powers forward with the ball and has it on the edge of the box, but his cut-back to the advancing Saville is intercepted by Satkus and cleared.
46' We're back underway for the second half as Washington kicks off for Northern Ireland!
The teams are on their way back out, and Northern Ireland are just 45 minutes away from a first home win of 2021!
Conor Washington was a constant thorn in the side of Lithuania in that half, and despite not having scored, yet, he's already amassed two shots, both of which were on target, and two key passes in the first 45 minutes of this match.
It's been a half dominated by the home side, who despite having put the ball in the net three times, have only the one goal to show for their efforts. It's a Satkus own goal that separates the sides, but Northern Ireland's front two of Washington and Magennis have threatened to add to the scoreboard throughout that half, and should the hosts continue bossing proceedings in the second period, there's little doubt that they'll add to that one-goal cushion.
45' + 1' We'll play two more minutes of added time at the end of this first half.
45' Savile is the next to have a go at the goal, but his shot is well wide after McNair showed some great skill to carve out a crossing opportunity.
45' WHAT A SAVE!!!!! Magennis is denied again, but this time it's in spectacular fashion by Setkus!!! Dallas feeds Washington out wide, who's low cross is met on the half-volley by Magennis!!!! It's a great low strike, and Setkus does very, very well to get down to his left and keep it out!! He's lucky his defenders were on hand to clear the danger too, as Magennis is clearly in the mood for goals!!!
44' Lithuania have a good spell with the ball as the drive forward, but the ball from Lasickas towards Chernykh is too short, and McCann cuts it out.
42' GOALLLLLL... OR IS IT???? Magennis rises highest at the corner to head into the net, but he's pushed Verbickas on his way to the ball and the goal is chalked off once more!!! Magennis can't catch a break at the moment, that's two goals he's caused to be ruled out!
41' The hosts create another attacking opportunity and the ball falls to Ferguson, who fires a shot against the back of Vaitkunas for another corner!
39' The home side have dominated this game so far, and that's reflected by their monstrously high 72.8 per cent possession rate in this first half.
37' The away side look to carve out an attacking opportunity and Vaitkunas' cross does well to find Laukzemis. His touch lets him down though, and Cathcart is easily able to dispossess the Lithuania striker.
35' Vaitkunas is down after a collision with Washington, and the Lithuania right-back is receiving extensive treatment.
33' Lithuania look to break with a long ball forward, and Laukzemis' knock-down eventualy finds the sprinting Barauskas. He looks to cross, but Dallas gets back brilliantly to win the ball and not concede the corner.
31' McNair wins a loose ball and feeds Saville. He looks for options, and the Northern Ireland centre-back has peeled wide on his continuing forward run. McNair is found, and looks to cross, winning a corner from a Dapkus deflection.
30' Dallas crosses into the box and Vaitkunas nonchalantly chests the ball back to the goalkeeper. Setkus gathers it just in time though, as Ferguson was waiting to pounce on the loose ball.
28' CLOSE!!! A loose ball deflects off Laukzemis and falls for Lasickas, whose shot forces a save from Peacock-Farrell before it's deflected away off McNair!! Sloppy from Northern Ireland, who nearly cost themselves the equaliser there!
26' Magennis tracks a Saville ball forward and looks to get around Dapkus, but the Lithuania defender has the measure of him and clears the danger with ease.
24' Ferguson drops his shoulder and charges forward into the box. He floats in a low cross towards Magennis, but it's headed away by Satkus.
22' Despite their strong start to this game, Northern Ireland will be wary that they are winless in nine home games in all competitions, their worst run since going 13 games without a home win between April 2002 and June 2005.
20' Magennis is protesting at the touch judge who gave the signal to rule out the goal, but an ongoing VAR check rules in favour of the assistant and officially chalks off the home side's second goal!
19' BALL IN THE NET!!!!! Northern Ireland fire straight back into Lithuania and a low McCann drive from the edge of the box rolls into the bottom corner!!!! It's been disallowed though, as the offside Magennis is judged to have obscured the goalkeeper's vision and we're still at 1-0!!!
B. Šatkus
Own Goal
17' OH NO!!! It's an own goal!!! Ferguson wins a corner and takes it, and Šatkus gets his bearings all mixed up and the ball bounces off the back of his head and into the net!!! It's comical for Lithuania, but the home side won't care and Northern Ireland lead 1-0!!!
15' Had that prior Washington shot gone in, it would've been his third goal in his last five internationals. He'd only scored two in his previous 26 appearances for Northern Ireland.
14' A cross from the left is aimed for the inbound Lasickas at the far post, but the Lithuania winger can't arrive in time to get a good connection and pokes his shot wide of the post.
12' SAVED!!! It's a really well-worked play by the hosts, with Dallas, McNair, Davis and McCann all linking up to feed Washington. His low shot flies past some trailing legs and Setkus is forced low to his right to make the save!!! That would've been a brilliantly-crafted opener!
10' WIDE!!!! Ferguson crosses from the byline, and the inswinging ball is met by the glancing head of Magennis, who just squeezes his effort to the wrong side of the post! A first real chance in this game!
9' Evans looks for the run of Dallas with a long ball forward, and the Leeds man forces a corner from a Satkus deflection.
7' Northern Ireland are unbeaten in all three previous internationals with Lithuania, winning two, and that includes their 4-1 win in Vilnius earlier in this qualifying campaign.
5' Magennis is brought down once more by Dapkus, but this free-kick is in a far more dangerous position.
3' Magennis looks to find Washington in the six-yard box, but his shot from a tight angle is easily grasped by Setkus in the Lithuania goal.
2' Dallas and Magennis look to link up down the right, but the Northern Ireland striker is pushed over illegally by Dapkus and wins the foul.
1' Lithuania's Laukzemis gets us underway, and the game begins!
The teams stand before the national anthems at Windsor Park, and kick-off isn’t far away now!
The scorer of a brace in Lithuania's sole Group C win over Bulgaria, Fedor Chernykh starts again for the away side in this match, but he’s playing in a slightly withdrawn role as part of a five-man midfield.
Leicester City centre-back Jonny Evans returns to the Northern Ireland starting XI, looking to add some steel to the spine of a team who haven’t kept a clean sheet since their 0-0 draw with Switzerland in September.

Lithuania, despite already losing 4-1 to Northern Ireland in Vilnius, would dump the hosts to the bottom of Group C with a win at Windsor Park. Both sides have only picked up one win apiece so far in these qualifiers.
It’s a battle of the also-rans in this game, with neither side able to qualify for Qatar 2022 ahead of runaway leaders Italy and Switzerland. Hosts Northern Ireland could, however, leapfrog third-placed Bulgaria with a win in this game.
Hello, and welcome to live coverage of this FIFA World Cup Qualifier, between Northern Ireland and Lithuania in Group C.
