That is all from this Euro 2020 fixture, until next time!
The Netherlands finish off their Group C campaign with a convincing 3-0 win and their focus will now turn to a last-16 clash with one of the four best third-place finishers on June 27th. North Macedonia, who can be proud of their efforts at Euro 2020, next face Armenia in September as they return to World Cup qualifier action.
North Macedonia started brightly, with Trickovski having a goal ruled out for offside and Trajkovski hitting the post. It was Depay, however, who opened the scoring with a counter-attacking goal. Two second-half finishes from Wijnaldum sealed the three points for the Netherlands before Churlinov saw another goal ruled out for offside. De Boer's men coast through to the last-16 stages with a 3-0 win in Amsterdam.
90' + 3' Churlinov and Stojanovski are on different wavelengths as the former passes to the near post and his team-mate moves to the back post. North Macedonia's Euro 2020 campaign has a minute or so left before it's over.
90' + 2' Gakpo carelessly fouls Alioski and Angelovski's men get a free-kick near the byline on the left. Hasani whips in a right-footed cross, which doesn't beat the first man and the Netherlands clear.
90' + 1' Dimitrievski produces a wonderful long kick to pick out Elmas, who twists and turns as he makes it to the left of goal. Unfortunately for the North Macedonians, Elmas can only manage to win a corner on the left for his team.
90' Promes drives down the left flank, making it into the box before attempting to deliver a chipped left-footed cross for Weghorst. Promes' dink lacks quality, however, and Weghorst can't capitalise at the back post.
88' SAVES! Gakpo wanders in down the right-hand side, after a smart turn, and looks to slide a low right-footed strike towards the bottom left corner. Dimitrievski saves with his feet before parrying away another save from a long-range De Ligt effort moments later.
87' Alioski steers into the feet of Nikolov but the ball gets away from the substitute as he drives a low left-footed effort well wide of the target from the left of goal.
86' Angelovski's men are camped on the edge of their own area, with Churlinov leading the line up top on his own as the Netherlands relentlessly work the ball from side to side in a methodical fashion. For now, however, the deficit remains at three goals with just over five minutes to go.
T. Kostadinov
Yellow Card
North Macedonia
84' Kostadinov sees his opportunity to smash into a tackle on Berghuis and he does just that. The right wing-back hasn't even hit the ground before referee Kovacs' yellow card is out for the North Macedonian substitute.
83' Stojanovski's near-post flick doesn't come off but he wins a corner, courtesy of Timber's block on the right-hand side. Alioski delivers and Velkoski, who is completely unmarked, misses a headed opportunity, with the loose ball racing out for a goal-kick.
81' The Netherlands have won their opening two matches at Euro 2020 and look set to win all three group-stage matches at a Euro tournament for a third time, after Euro 2000 and Euro 2008.
B. Nikolov
A. Ademi
North Macedonia
79' At the same time as Bardhi's removal, Nikolov also comes on for Ademi.
C. Gakpo
F. de Jong
79' De Jong is granted a well-deserved rest as he wanders off the pitch for Gakpo.
V. Stojanovski
E. Bardhi
North Macedonia
78' Stojanovski gets his first taste of international tournament football as he replaces Bardhi.
77' Blind intercepts on the halfway line as North Macedonia appear to be struggling to get out their own half. Despite an impressive Euro 2020 outing, Angelovski's men seem tired and in need of the full-time whistle now.
76' Promes' low cross is behind Weghorst and gets cleared to Berghuis, who stalls to dance past Alioski before seeing his left-footed strike blocked by Velkoski.
75' Churlinov again thinks he is in down the right-hand side but the flag goes up for offside once more. Play goes on, however, and Alioski goes down softly under pressure from Timber. The referee shakes his head and demands the left-back gets up.
73' NO GOAL! North Macedonia see their second goal of the game denied for offside as Churlinov slots a smart right-footed finish past Stekelenburg into the bottom right corner. Initially, Bardhi played the pass through the middle but the assistant, and then VAR, confirm Chrulinov had strayed into an offside position.
71' In his 78th appearance for the national side, Wijnaldum scored his 24th and 25th goals for Netherlands. 15 of these strikes have been in his 25 games since the start of 2019, with no player scoring more for the country in this time.
T. Kostadinov
G. Pandev
North Macedonia
69' Pandev, who is making his final appearance for North Macedonia, is greeted by all 10 of his team-mates on the touchline as he makes his way off. More of the North Macedonian squad wait to congratulate their captain as he leaves the pitch for the last time. Kostadinov is the man tasked with replacing Pandev up top.
F. Hasani
A. Trajkovski
North Macedonia
68' Angelovski makes another substitution as he brings off Trajkovski for Hasani.
67' OFF THE BAR! De Jong roams inside after intercepting and offloads to his right. Weghorst, with his first touch of the game, attempts to power a right-footed strike past Dimitrievski. The goalkeeper can't stop the effort but the substitute gets denied by the crossbar before the ball cannons out for a goal-kick.
Q. Promes
D. Malen
66' Malen also makes way and Promes is the man to take his place.
W. Weghorst
M. Depay
66' Depay's work comes to an end as De Boer brings on Weghorst up top.
E. Alioski
Yellow Card
North Macedonia
65' Alioski goes into the book as he needlessly catches Berghuis late near the right-hand touchline.
64' De Ligt twists and turns in the middle to intercept and find Van Aanholt as the Netherlands' spell of possession goes on. On the touchline, De Boer appears to be preparing some more alterations.
62' CLOSE! Wijnaldum is inches away from grabbing a hat-trick as he latches onto Van Aanholt's low cross to poke over a right-footed effort from near the penalty spot. Given the close-range nature of the attempt, Dimitrievski wouldn't have had much chance stopping that shot and Wijnaldum may feel unlucky he hasn't bagged a third.
61' Elmas buys his team a breather as he surges down the left-hand side and wins a throw-in. Alioski hovers on the left flank and wins a corner, courtesy of Berghuis' tackle.
60' Depay is just the second Dutch player to both score and assist a goal in a game at both the European Championships and World Cup, after Wesley Sneijder. He may feel he should have grabbed a second goal moments ago but he won't mind as Wijnaldum was there to make amends.
G. Wijnaldum
58' GOOOOOALL! 3-0 TO THE NETHERLANDS! Malen finds a pocket of space outside the area and slots through for the run of Depay, who sees his low right-footed strike parried away by Dimitrievski. Wijnaldum is there on the follow-up, however, to smash a right-footed rebound into the top right corner past the North Macedonian goalkeeper, who can’t get up quick enough to react to deny the Dutch captain.
D. Churlinov
I. Trichkovski
North Macedonia
56' Angelovski makes his first change of the game as he sends on Churlinov for Trickovski.
56' SAVE! After Elmas wins a free-kick, just to the right of goal outside the area, Pandev has a quick word with Alioski and Bardhi, who stand over the set-piece. Bardhi's right-footed strike heads for the bottom left corner but Stekelenburg sees it all the way and manages to beat away a save to his right.
55' Angelovski will be looking for a response from his team, who are playing for pride in their last game at Euro 2020. So far their reaction has been a positive one and Elmas has just won a free-kick right on the edge of the area, courtesy of a foul from Van Aanholt.
53' The Netherlands have scored two or more goals in 10 consecutive games (all competitions) for the first time ever. A record to be proud of for De Boer's men, who have been questioned regularly under the Dutch head coach's stewardship.
M. Depay
51' Berghuis wanders inside and slides in Depay, who makes it to the byline on the left before smashing a low left-footed cross towards the six-yard area. As he so often does, Wijnaldum arrives late and pokes home from close range to make it 2-0.
G. Wijnaldum
51' GOOOOOOOALL! WIJNALDUM MAKES IT 2-0! Berghuis feeds down the left flank and Depay again gets in behind North Macedonia, making it to the byline before drilling an inviting cross across the face of goal with his left foot. Wijnaldum ghosts into the six-yard area and can’t miss as he taps into an empty net from close range with his right foot to double the Netherlands’ lead.
50' OFF THE LINE! Musliu fails to keep the ball in play and gives away a corner on the right-hand side. Berghuis, who is operating as an inverted wing-back, delivers towards the near post, where De Ligt heads towards the top right corner. Dimitrievski remains motionless but Trickovski produces a remarkable, last-ditch headed clearance to head off the goal-line and away from danger.
V. Musliu
Yellow Card
North Macedonia
48' As expected, Musliu goes into the book for pulling back Depay as the Dutch forward looked to counter-attack over the halfway line.
48' Ristovski seeks out Alioski, who arrows a tempting delivery towards the far post, where Trajkovski can't quite reach the pass. Depay then gets pulled back on the counter-attack and it looks like Musliu could be going into the book.
47' The Netherlands have an impressive European Championship record when leading at half-time: P10, W9, L1 (3-2 defeat to Czech Republic in 2004). Can Angelovski's men find a way back into this one?
46' Referee Kovacs gets the second half underway!
S. Berghuis
D. Dumfries
46' Dumfries, who scored two goals in the first two games for the Netherlands, also makes way for Berghuis.
J. Timber
S. de Vrij
46' De Boer makes two changes at half-time, the first of which sees 19-year-old Timber replace De Vrij.
With the Netherlands leading at half-time, De Boer may see this as an opportunity to rest some of his stars ahead of June 27th's last-16 clash. Angelovski will also be satisfied with his side's first-half performance and may simply be encouraging them to kick on in the second half as they continue to play for pride.
North Macedonia's fast-paced start nearly paid off as Trickovski saw his goal ruled out for offside inside the opening 10 minutes. Trajkovski carried on his team's positive start as he struck the post but it was the Netherlands who took the lead through Depay's contentious opener. Angelovski's men felt Pandev was fouled in the build-up to the goal, however, referee Kovacs and VAR deemed Blind's tackle to have been a fair one. In Amsterdam, De Boer's men go in at half-time 1-0 up.
45' + 1' Gravenberch and Van Aanholt combine with the former then going down under pressure from Velkoski inside the area. Referee Kovacs seems to consider giving a penalty before pointing to his right to award a corner.
45' Dimitrievski is forced to come flying out of his goal to intervene outside of his area in front of Depay, who was played through by De Jong. Excellent play from the goalkeeper keeps the Netherlands' advantage to just the one goal.
44' Pandev looks to become the creator as he fires a low left-footed pass towards Trajkovski. De Ligt reads the game well, however, and steps out of defence to intercept.
43' The Netherlands have scored two or more goals in each of their last nine games in all competitions, their longest run since May 1935 (also nine in a row). They have never scored 2+ goals in 10 consecutive games in all competitions.
41' WIDE! De Ligt's stretched clearance gives away another corner on the left flank as he intervenes from Alioski's cross. Bardhi delivers an inviting set-piece, which Musliu meets at the near post but the centre-back can only head wide to the right of goal, despite being relatively unchallenged.
40' Elmas beats De Vrij to the ball before offloading to his right, where Bardhi powers a 25-yard right-footed strike high and wide of Stekelenburg's goal. The North Macedonians are slowly growing back into this game after Depay's opener.
39' Ristovski looks for Trajkovski and De Vrij is forced to clear behind for the first corner of the game to Angelovski's men. Bardhi goes short before moving inside and seeing his right-footed shot blocked by Wijnaldum.
38' Gravenberch escapes the attentions of Pandev before Ristovski gives away another corner on the left-hand side. Depay once again whips in the set-piece but Malen fouls at the near post and the referee awards Ademi a free-kick.
37' Dumfries speeds down the right-hand channel before Alioski recovers and makes a slide tackle to concede a corner. Depay delivers an outswinging cross which misses all of his team-mates inside the area.
36' Gravenberch roams inwards from the left flank and curls a cross towards the back post. Dumfries and Wijnaldum both look interested but the ball travels over their heads and goes out for a goal-kick.
34' After a frantic opening 30 minutes, Alioski brings calm to proceedings as he sensibly opts to play backwards. Angelovski's men appear to be catching a breather, given the fast-paced start to this game in Amsterdam.
32' Malen makes a smart turn inside the left-hand channel but Ristovski does well to keep up and intervene. The PSV forward has offered De Boer a completely different option up top so far in comparison to what Weghorst provides for the team.
30' SAVE! Malen capitalises on the left flank as he races forward and slides a low left-footed pass towards the far post. Dumfries, who has scored two in the opening two games, arrives at the back stick but he sees his right-footed effort saved from close range by the feet of Dimitrievski.
29' OVER! Trajkovski, who struck the post earlier on, fancies his chances from around 25 yards as he powers a right-footed strike over the crossbar. The Netherlands keep offering the North Macedonian forward space and he certainly isn't shy of testing his luck.
27' Depay's strike represents his 50th goal or assist for the Netherlands (28 goals, 22 assists) in 67 appearances. He has also got nine goals and three assists in his last 10 games for the Netherlands in all competitions.
26' North Macedonia have been getting increasingly frustrated with referee Kovacs and that most recent tackle on Pandev won't help the official's case. On another day, Depay's opener may have been ruled out for Blind's tackle but De Boer won't mind as his side lead once more in Group C.
D. Malen
24' Malen and Depay lead the counter-attack over the halfway line with the former making it to the right of goal before squaring back towards the penalty spot for his partner. Depay makes no mistake as he calmly places a low left-footed strike into the bottom left corner to open the scoring.
M. Depay
24' GOOOOOOALLL! DEPAY MAKES IT 1-0! Blind clatters into Pandev with a sliding tackle on the edge of the area and the loose ball finds Malen via Gravenberch. The forward powers over the halfway line before exchanging a one-two with Depay and making it to the right of goal. Malen then slides back across goal for Depay, who hovers near the penalty spot before coolly slotting a low left-footed finish into the bottom left corner past Dimitrievski. VAR checks Blind’s initial tackle before confirming the goal can stand.
23' In four previous meetings between North Macedonia and the Netherlands, North Macedonia haven’t led for a single minute in any game, and they are yet to go ahead in a match at the European Championships, scoring both of their goals when trailing. In Amsterdam, however, they have been the better side so far.
22' POST! Trickovski drives forward and plays into Pandev, who offloads to the edge of the area to find Trajkovski. The North Macedonian looks for the bottom right corner with his right foot and his low strike beats Stekelenburg. Fortunately for the goalkeeper, Trajkovski's attempt cannons into the post and bounces away from danger.
20' Wijnaldum, Gravenberch and Depay all try to thread intricate passes through the North Macedonian defence but, on each occasion, their attempts get headed away. De Boer may feel one of them needs to take charge and unleash a shot instead of trying to create the perfect goal.
S. Ristovski
Yellow Card
North Macedonia
18' Ristovski talks his way into referee Kovacs’ book as he continues arguing with the match official about the earlier challenge on Ademi.
17' Ademi gets caught on the edge of the Dutch penalty area by Gravenberch, however, referee Kovacs waves play on. Malen makes it down the other end, winning a corner for his side but Ademi stays down and requires brief medical attention.
16' Depay and Malen are repeatedly finding little pockets of space but, as of yet, they have failed to play through Angelovski's compact defence. This is a different front two to the usual pair De Boer has employed, given the towering presence of Weghorst is sat on the bench today.
14' Van Aanholt moves inwards as Gravenberch finds his feet before the left wing-back looks through the middle for Wijnaldum. Musliu reads Van Aanholt's intentions and intercepts before Dumfries regains possession on the right-hand side.
13' CHANCE! No offside flag goes up against Depay as he latches onto Blind's long pass and makes it towards the right of goal. The Lyon forward hammers a right-footed strike across the face of goal, however, Wijnaldum can't quite get on the end of it and North Macedonia get away with one. This game has started in a fast-paced manner and the crowd in Amsterdam are loving it!
12' Pandev scored in his team’s first ever international fixture against the Netherlands, nearly 17 years ago – it was in a FIFA World Cup qualifier played in October 2004 (2-2). Today he plays his last game for North Macedonia. Can he bow out with a goal?
11' Depay has tons of room to the left of goal, where he tries to feed across for Dumfries at the far post. Alioski blocks, sending a clearance into Depay and the Netherlands' chance to attack fades away.
10' NO GOAL! Ristovski works a pass into the feet of Pandev, who plays a smart flick around the corner for Trickovski. The North Macedonian makes it to the right of goal, sliding a left-footed finish into the bottom left corner. Angelovski's men wheel off in celebration, however, the flag goes up for offside against Trickovski before VAR confirms the assistant's decision was a correct one.
8' Trickovski's poor pass allows Wijnaldum to intercept and the Dutch captain rolls down the left flank for Malen. The forward powers into the area, looking to return the favour to his team-mate but the offside flag goes up on the far side for the initial pass.
7' Despite this fixture taking place in Amsterdam, North Macedonia are registered as the home team, meaning their opposition are playing in a darker strip to their usual orange.
6' Wijnaldum leaves Ademi on the floor, however, his throughball for Depay gets cut out by Musliu. Depay attempts to create a counter-attacking chance moments later but his touch lets him down and Ristovski intercepts.
4' Bardhi gets forward to support Alioski but his surge comes to an end as De Vrij intervenes. De Ligt is then called upon at the near post to clear away Trajkovski's cross from the left flank.
3' CLOSE! Gravenberch, who is making his first start for the Netherlands, dispossesses Velkoski before setting his sights on the top right corner with his right foot. The midfielder's 20-yard effort dips and swerves but just goes over Dimitrievski's crossbar.
2' Dumfries has space on the right-hand side but he opts to go backwards, just as Alioski looked to have vacated space for Wijnaldum in behind. As expected, De Boer's men are knocking the ball about with real confidence in the opening stages.
1' With the national anthems over and done with, referee Istvan Kovacs gets this final Group C game underway!
The Netherlands have never lost against North Macedonia, winning two and drawing two of their four previous meetings.
Despite already being through to the last-16 stages, De Boer only opts for two changes to his starting line-up that faced Austria. Ajax’s Gravenberch replaces Marten de Roon in the middle, while further forward Malen gets the nod ahead of Weghorst.
Angelovski ditches the three-man defence to change to a back four and makes alterations to his team from last time out. Spirovski and Nikolov are the men to drop down to the bench, with the attacking options of Trajkovski and Trickovski coming in on either flank. After starting at centre-back last match, Ristovski will move to right-back to accommodate for the North Macedonian change of system.

After a 3-2 opening victory against Ukraine, the Netherlands coasted past Austria 2-0 to confirm top spot in Group C. Frank de Boer may consider resting some stars against today’s opponents, with a view to the last-16 stages, where his team will face one of the four best third-place finishers in Budapest on June 27th.
Given their qualification through the Nations League, no-one saw North Macedonia progressing to the knockout stages. They have, however, provided a good account of themselves, scoring against both Austria and Ukraine in respectable defeats. Due to the head-to-head nature of Euro 2020’s group rulings, Igor Angelovski’s men can’t finish above bottom in Group C, so they will simply be playing for pride in Amsterdam today.
Hello and welcome to live coverage of the Group C fixture between North Macedonia and the Netherlands.
