Alex Iwobi, Ola Aina, Moses Simon of Nigeria
GOAL assesses every Super Eagle that played in the win over the Falcons of Jediane in Garoua

  • Maduka Okoye - Nigeria, Super Eagles

    Maduka Okoye (6/10)

Okoye’s only first-half save against Sudan was an effort from long range. Could do little about Walieldin Khidir’s penalty.

  • William Troost-Ekong

    William Troost-Ekong (6/10)

Could have been added to the Super Eagles advantage on a couple of occasions.

    Decent game for the captain.

  • Kenneth Omeruo of Nigeria during the 2018 FIFA World Cup Russia group D match between Nigeria and Iceland

    Kenneth Omeruo (6/10)

Had very little to do over the course of the game.

  • Ola Aina - Nigeria vs. Libya

    Ola Aina (5.5/10)

Probably disappointed he could not make more threatening forward forays.

The Torino defender will be displeased about the concession of the penalty for Sudan’s strike.

  • Zaidu Sanusi, Victor Osimhen, Henry Onyekuru - Nigeria/ Super Eagles

    Zaidu Sanusi (6/10)

Barely spent time in his own defensive third with Nigeria retaining control of proceedings for most of the game.

The Porto left-back did prevent Al-Gozoli Nooh from shooting at goal midway through the second half.

  • Wilfred Ndidi Nigeria

    Wilfred Ndidi (7/10)

Won the majority of his duels in the middle of the park in another typical display.

  • Joe Aribo, CAR

    Joe Aribo (7/10)

Continues to be an interesting tactical option for Augustine Eguavoen, with his dual role in midfield with Ndidi and a brief to push forward into menacing areas.

Should have netted a first half goal.

  • Dean Furman, South Africa & Samuel Chukwueze, Nigeria, July 2019

    Samuel Chukwueze (7.5/10)

Was more involved than he was against Egypt, scoring after two minutes to set the tone for proceedings. Replaced at half-time.

  • Moses Simon

    Moses Simon (8.5/10)

Another strong showing by the Nantes man who assisted Chukwueze’s goal and netted Nigeria’s third.

Simon had the beating of his marker for nearly the entirety of the game and won all but one of his eight duels for 90 minutes.

  • Kelechi Iheanacho Nigeria 2018

    Kelechi Iheanacho (7/10)

Went off after the hour. It was from his set-piece the Super Eagles netted their second of the 3-1 win.

  • Taiwo Awoniyi of Union Berlin and Nigeria.

    Taiwo Awoniyi (6.5/10)

Finally got his first Nigeria goal, albeit fortuitously. He could have assisted another but Aribo missed after the forward’s fine work down the left channel.

  • Alex Iwobi of Nigeria, Liberia's Sampson Dweh

    Alex Iwobi (5.5/10)

Replaced Chukwueze at the break but did not pull up trees in the second half.

  • Ahmed Musa

    Ahmed Musa (5.5/10)

Musa had little impact in the final 25 minutes after replacing Iheanacho.

  • Kelechi Nwakali

    Kelechi Nwakali (5.5/10)

Impressed with his passing range after coming on for Aribo and could start in the Super Eagles’ final game against Guinea-Bissau.

  • Sadiq Torino

    Umar Sadiq (N/A)

Replaced Awoniyi with eight minutes of normal time to play.
