Goal assesses the performances of the Black Stars in Friday's 1-1 draw with The Panthers at the Africa Cup of Nations in Cameroon.

  • Joseph Jojo Wollacott Ghana

    Joseph Wollacott - 6/10

The Swindon Town goalkeeper rose to the occasion whenever it mattered but for Gabon’s only goal which he cannot be held responsible for.

  • Andy Yiadom Ghana

    Andy Yiadom - 6/10

Yiadom was defensively solid at right-back for Ghana but restricted his game too much to his own half. Could have closed down Jim Allevinah a bit more to prevent the attacker from striking the ball in for The Panthers goal.

  • Baba Rahman Ghana

    Abdul Rahman Baba - 6/10

Baba had a decent game for Ghana at left-back. However, like Yiadom, he was not adventurous enough to run down the opposition attack.

  • Daniel Amartey Ghana

    Daniel Amartey - 6.5/10

It was another solid display by the Leicester City man who commanded the backline well to prevent the opposition from creating dangerous chances for the most part. Came to the fore with some important clearances.

  • Alexander Djiku Ghana

    Alexander Djiku - 6.5/10

The Strasbourg man put up a strong performance with Amartey in central defence. His timely block early in the game prevented Ghana from falling behind.

  • Alexander Diku Iddrisu Baba Ghana

    Mohammed Iddrisu Baba - 6.5/10

Baba did well to control space and defend impressively in midfield. Was comfortable in possession to help the Stars keep the ball. His second half injury and substitution was definitely a blow to the Black Stars.

  • Thomas Partey Ghana

    Thomas Partey - 5.5/10

Once again, Partey failed to exercise dominance in midfield for Ghana as he showed another nondescript performance as he did in the opening day loss to Morocco.

  • Daniel-Kofi Kyereh Ghana

    Daniel-Kofi Kyereh - 5.5/10

Kyereh was simple and tidy in possession but failed to provide the big attacking presence expected of him as Ghana’s most advanced midfielder.

  • Jordan Ayew Ghana

    Jordan Ayew - 5/10

Jordan worked strongly defensively for the Black Stars but did not impress in his core duty of causing danger to Gabon down the right flank.

  • Kamaldeen Sulemana Ghana

    Kamaldeen Sulemana - 4.5/10

It was another bad day at the office for the Stade Rennes attacker who failed on many occasions to go past his man. Was unsurprisingly the first player to be withdrawn by Ghana.

  • Andre Ayew Ghana

    Andre Ayew - 7/10

Andre led the lines for Ghana and he definitely made a big impression in the role, going round his marker to fire a shot from outside the box for the opening goal for Ghana.

  • Joseph Paintsil Ghana

    Joseph Paintsil - 5/10

Join the action in the 65th minute. Could have been a lot more decisive on the few occasions he attempted to lead a counter break.

  • Richmond Boakye Yiadom

    Edmund Addo - 5/10

Came on as Ghana tried to strengthen their midfield but did little to improve the team overall.

  • Abdul Fatawu Issahaku Ghana 2021

Abdul Fatawu Issahaku - Not rated

Came on in the 90th minute. Was not rated.

  • Benjamin Tetteh
