WHAT HAPPENED? The 20-year-old attacker sustained a bruised knee during the team's training session on Friday, the club confirmed in a statement that read: "Ansu Fati suffered a left knee contusion during this afternoon’s training session. He is out and his recovery will determine his availability."
THE BIGGER PICTURE: The Spain international's career has been plagued by injuries to his knee, hamstring and meniscus since 2020 and the latest blow comes as yet another interruption to his progression.
