Commentary

That is all from this live text commentary, until next time!
Atletico, who will find out their Copa del Rey last-16 opponent in Friday’s draw, next face a crunch home clash against Barcelona on Sunday. Oviedo visit FC Andorra in the Segunda Division the day before.
Atletico run out 2-0 winners after a professional away performance at Oviedo. Simeone's side broke the deadlock in the 24th minute through Llorente before substitute Barrios scored seven minutes from time to eliminate the Segunda Division side from the Copa del Rey.
90' + 5' FULL-TIME: REAL OVIEDO 0-2 ATLETICO MADRID
90' + 4' OVER! Luengo unleashes a vicious right-footed strike from outside the area. Oblak appears concerned for a slight moment, only to watch the substitute's rasping drive fizz over the crossbar.
90' + 3' Cervera will be proud of his side's performance but, in truth, Oblak has rarely been troubled by the Oviedo attack. Atletico, meanwhile, will fancy their chances of claiming their first Copa del Rey crown since 2013.
90' + 1' The fourth official indicates there will be at least five minutes of added time. Albeit, even that healthy amount of additional play is unlikely to help Oviedo back into this content.
Sergi Enrich
Viti Rozada
Real Oviedo
90' Viti comes off to a standing ovation from the home supporters as Enrich takes his place.
89' The visitors are toying with their second-tier opposition now. Cervera's men can hardly get near Atletico as the LaLiga side edge closer towards the Copa del Rey last 16.
87' No LaLiga player has made more assists than Griezmann this season across all competitions, already making more in 23 games in the 2022-23 term (seven) than in the whole of last season with Atletico (six in 36 games). His role in Llorente's opener set Simeone's side on their way to victory.
85' Simeone will be delighted to see his substitutes combining so well. Reguilon, Correa and Barrios were all introduced in the second half before the teenager did the damage with Atletico's second goal.
Á. Correa
Assist
Atlético Madrid
83' Correa gets the credit for the assist but the goal belongs to a slick team move. Griezmann and Reguilon both played a significant role before the World Cup winner teed up Barrios to score.
Pablo Barrios
Goal
Atlético Madrid
83' GOOOOOOALLLL! 2-0 ATLETICO AND GAME OVER! Barrios surely seals progression for his side by finishing into the bottom-right corner. Griezmann initially played to Reguilon before the left-back found Correa. The Argentina forward’s delicate pass opened up space for the substitute midfielder to fire a left-footed strike low past Nadal.
A. Griezmann
Yellow Card
Atlético Madrid
82' Griezmann is the next Atletico man to go into the referee's list of cautions after a cynical foul on Sangalli.
81' The resulting Oviedo free-kick comes to nothing, yet the hosts are straight back on the front foot after a failed Atletico counter-attack. Simeone's side could be in store for a nervy final 10 minutes or so!
A. Witsel
Yellow Card
Atlético Madrid
80' Witsel hacks down Viti to offer Oviedo a free-kick in a good position outside the area. The Belgium international is also shown a yellow card.
Oier Luengo
Abel Bretones
Real Oviedo
78' The industrious Bretones, who has impressed down the left-hand side, sees his number come up as Cervera sends on Luengo.
Reguilón
Y. Carrasco
Atlético Madrid
77' Carrasco follows Morata off the pitch, with Reguilon replacing the Belgium international.
Á. Correa
Álvaro Morata
Atlético Madrid
76' Morata comes off as World Cup winner Correa is introduced by Simeone.
75' Bretones whips in a right-wing corner and Atletico clear with ease. Barrios cannot quite keep the ball in play, though, as Oviedo win a throw-in on the left flank.
L. Sequeira
S. Obeng
Real Oviedo
73' At the same time as Sangalli’s introduction, Obeng makes way for Sequeira.
Marco Sangalli
Hugo Rama
Real Oviedo
73' Cervera withdraws Rama and replaces him with Sangalli.
72' Simeone's side are playing in a style so typical of their coach. A well-structured Atletico backline appear to have little interest in pushing forward as they defend their lead and sit in front of Oblak's goal.
70' Morata has a chance to break forward but the striker fails to show the required pace and Tarin recovers to clear.
Reinildo
Hermoso
Atlético Madrid
68' Hermoso cannot recover after going down injured and Simeone sends on Reinildo in his place.
67' Hermoso goes to ground after seemingly pulling up off the ball. The Atletico medical team come on to tend to the defender as the Copa del Rey tie takes a brief pause.
66' Kondogbia protests to the referee after being adjudged to have fouled Obeng. The substitute cannot have too many complaints given numerous Atletico players attempted to bring the forward down before the eventual decision.
64' Bretones makes good progress down the left flank before arrowing another delivery towards the area. Oblak has little in the way of challenges, though, as he collects with ease to stifle the Oviedo attack.
63' Baston, with 10 goals in all competitions, is Oviedo's top scorer this season. The substitute had one chance after coming on at half-time, but has largely been a passenger since his introduction.
Pablo Barrios
T. Lemar
Atlético Madrid
61' Lemar follows Koke off the pitch in a double substitution, as Barrios makes his way on for the visitors.
G. Kondogbia
Koke
Atlético Madrid
61' Captain Koke is the first Atletico change as Simeone sends on Kondogbia.
60' Qatar 2022 champion Molina is in no rush to take a throw-in on the right-hand side. Atletico have hardly thrilled in the second half, but Simeone's men are doing the job required thus far to progress.
59' Griezmann looks to dink a delicate chip inside Ahijado to release the dangerous Carrasco. The winger appears to be latching onto the pass before the ball races out of play for a goal-kick.
58' Bretones sends an inviting delivery towards the head of Obeng, who again fails to make a good connection as another chance goes amiss. The hosts' striker has had numerous opportunities but is yet to make one count.
56' Llorente escapes the attention of Rama, who makes the cynical decision to pull the midfielder back. Despite the obvious intention to foul, the Oviedo man does not get cautioned.
54' Griezmann manoeuvres into space inside the left flank before rolling through for Morata. Tarin and Ahijado combine, though, to dispossess the striker inside the area.
52' A curling Carrasco cross causes Oviedo some problems but eventually they clear long. Molina then recovers and looks to surge down the right, only for Bretones to halt his progress.
51' The Segunda Division side have started the second half in positive fashion but have nothing to show for their endeavours thus far. Atletico appear to have no problems sitting back and waiting to pounce on the counter-attack.
49' Hermoso, who was dismissed in his last LaLiga clash against Elche, exchanges a few choice words with Viti after conceding a free-kick on the right. Rama whips in the resulting set-piece before Oblak sweeps up the danger.
48' WIDE! Baston is almost immediately involved as he finds room outside the area. The substitute forward whips a left-footed strike towards Oblak's bottom-right corner, but the Atletico goalkeeper watches the attempt drift just wide.
47' Griezmann and Morata, both with six goals in all competitions, are Atletico's top scorers this season. It would be unsurprising to see either of that pair get on the scoresheet in the second half.
46' The players have returned to the pitch and referee Ruiz gets the second half under way!
Borja Bastón
K. Koindredi
Real Oviedo
46' Koindredi makes way at half-time for Baston.
Given Simeone only made four changes to his side from their last LaLiga outing, it comes as no surprise Atletico have dominated large parts of this Copa del Rey clash. The visitors will need another goal to kill this game off, though, otherwise they risk inviting Oviedo – backed by a vociferous home crowd – back into this game.
Oviedo started the brighter of the two sides but Atletico soon grew into the game and took a deserved 24th-minute lead after Llorente's strike. Simeone's men could have extended their lead, with Griezmann impressing in particular, but will have to settle for being 1-0 up heading into the half-time interval.
45' + 1' HALF-TIME: REAL OVIEDO 0-1 ATLETICO MADRID
45' + 1' The raucous home support are again on their feet as Oviedo push forward but the referee blows his whistle to signal half-time.
J. Giménez
Yellow Card
Atlético Madrid
44' Tensions are rising after Gimenez catches Obeng with a late tackle on the right flank. The referee calms the situation down before showing the centre-back the first caution of the cup tie.
43' SAVE! Viti capitalises on a loose bouncing ball and races inside between two Atletico defenders. The winger powers a low right-footed effort towards the bottom-left corner, but Oblak gets down well to stop the attempt.
41' Simeone waves his arms on the touchline as Ahijado wanders over to take a throw-in. The LaLiga side do not look too bothered, though, as Oviedo work the ball from one flank to the other with little progression.
39' Oviedo have managed to get a foothold of possession but their passing has largely led to nothing. Atletico are content to sit in their well-structured shape and are inviting the hosts onto them.
37' Rama dances inside to carve out a rare Oviedo chance. The midfielder has numerous defenders in front of him and can only blast both high and wide of the watching Oblak.
36' Every time Cervera's men get close to regaining possession, another Atletico player appears to play around the opposition. The visitors have completely monopolised possession in the recent stages as the game approaches half-time.
34' Simeone's visitors are moving the ball around with purpose and look more likely to score again. Koke and Lemar are dictating play through the middle and Oviedo have little in the way of answers at the moment.
32' Atletico have faced Oviedo on 82 occasions, with this match their third against the Asturian side in the Copa del Rey.
30' CLOSE! Morata finds more room towards the right of goal and plays a selfless pass back towards Griezmann. The France international prods towards the top-right corner before Nadal parries over to keep Atletico at bay.
29' Morata fires another presentable chance across the face of goal. Nadal gets the slightest of touches to push away from the path of Carrasco as the hosts hang in to remain a goal behind.
28' Llorente looks to turn provider as he sprints down the right flank before whipping towards the front post. Morata is lurking but has no opportunity to challenge for the ball as Nadal towers above the forward to sweep up the danger.
26' Cervera's men look to respond immediately but Hermoso and Lemar combine to head away a right-wing corner. Simeone's men are ahead and it is hard to see their resolute defence giving many chances for Oviedo to hit back.
A. Griezmann
Assist
Atlético Madrid
24' Argentina's World Cup winner Molina finds France's beaten Qatar finalist Griezmann and the veteran forward does the rest with a smart pass through for Llorente to score.
Marcos Llorente
Goal
Atlético Madrid
24' GOOOOOOOOOALLLL! 1-0 ATLETICO! Just as Oviedo appeared to be growing into the game, Llorente chips over Nadal to open the scoring. Molina initially found Griezmann before he turned into the path of the midfielder, who somewhat fortuitously finishes with a dinked left-footed strike.
22' Another chance falls to Obeng. Viti makes space for himself down the right flank and crosses to the Oviedo striker, who again is wayward with his finish as he powers comfortably over from near the penalty spot.
21' Morata carves open the Oviedo defence with a pinpoint throughball. Carrasco races towards goal but Ahijado does just enough to keep the Atletico man from getting his shot off.
20' WIDE! A needless foul on the left allows Rama to swing in a free-kick. Mangel knocks a header down for Tarin, who arrows a right-footed half-volley just past Oblak's left post.
18' Bretones does not allow Llorente time to settle as he eases his opposite number out of the way. Oviedo may be up against it but they are showing no signs of simply bowing down to Atletico's superior quality.
16' Rama has acres of space on the left-hand side after catching Molina out of position. The midfielder whips an inviting cross towards the far post, where Obeng should do better as he prods harmlessly wide.
15' Koke works it out to the right wing for Llorente, who cuts inside and rides two tackles. Nadal is there again, however, as the Oviedo goalkeeper gets down with ease to deny a timid effort.
13' CHANCE! Carrasco picks the pocket of Ahijado on the left-hand side. The Belgium international powers inside before seeing his low right-footed strike denied by the safe hands of Nadal.
12' After facing at least once per year between 1988 and 2002 (28 meetings in total), Oviedo and Atleti are meeting for the first time in a competitive game in more than 20 years. Their last duel came in May 2002 in the Segunda Division.
10' Despite the early impetus from Cervera's home side, Atletico have managed to create the two best chances so far. Oviedo have sat too deep when Simeone's men look to attack and they are fortunate to not see either Morata or Llorente open the scoring.
9' SAVE! Llorente has space to drive into outside the box and races towards goal. The midfielder unleashes a right-footed strike and Nadal has to react quickly to parry over the crossbar.
7' WIDE! Atletico go close to an opener as Lemar plays inside to Morata. The Spain striker looks for the top-right corner from the edge of the area, but his right-footed attempt goes just off target.
5' A second corner in quick succession comes for Oviedo after Hermoso turns behind Viti's cross. The hosts crowd the box but that matters for little as Oblak towers above the opposition to claim.
3' Witsel steps in at the vital moment to nip in ahead of Obeng, who was about to pull the trigger towards Oblak's goal. Oviedo continue on the front foot, though, and win the first corner of the game on the right flank.
2' A loose Molina touch on the right-hand side offers Oviedo an early throw-in and the raucous home support rise to roar their side into action. Atletico will have to deal with the vociferous faithful backing the hosts, as well as the second-tier side.
1' After a minute of silence to honour the late Brazil great Pele, referee Alejandro Muniz Ruiz blows his whistle and we are under way at the Carlos Tartiere Stadium!
The last time these two sides met in this competition, Atletico ran out 5-1 winners in a two-legged last-16 clash in January 1992.
Simeone opts for four alterations to his starting line-up from an ill-tempered 2-0 win over Elche on Thursday. Joao Felix and Stefan Savic are not in the squad, while Kondogbia and Barrios are named on the bench. The quartet are replaced by World Cup winner Molina, Witsel, Lemar and captain Koke. Despite being sent-off in his last LaLiga outing, Hermoso keeps his place at centre-back.
Oviedo head coach Alvaro Cervera makes two changes to his starting XI from the December 22 cup victory over fellow second-tier side Granada. Borja Sanchez misses out entirely, while Luengo drops to the bench. Rama and Tarin are the men to come in.

Atletico made light work of both Almazan and Arenteiro to progress to this stage as they aim for their first Copa del Rey crown since 2013, when they defeated rivals Real Madrid 2-1 in the final. Diego Simeone’s side have endured a frustrating season in LaLiga and are fourth in the table, some 11 points behind the two-horse title race between Los Blancos and Barcelona.
Oviedo battled past Gimnastica Torrelavega and Granada to earn a shot at LaLiga giants Atletico. Away from the Copa del Rey, the Blues’ hopes of playing in the Spanish top flight next season for the first time since the 2000-01 campaign look slim, given they sit 14th in the Segunda Division.
Hello and welcome to live coverage of the Copa del Rey round-of-32 clash between Real Oviedo and Atletico Madrid.
