Chelsea return to Premier League action against Watford on the road on Wednesday. Manchester United take on Arsenal at home on Thursday in their next outing.

Chelsea could have won the game at the death, but Antonio Rudiger missed a golden chance to allow Michael Carrick's men to leave with a share of the spoils.

Chelsea are winless in their last seven Premier League games against Man Utd, only having a longer run without a league win against the Red Devils once before (10 games between 1938 and 1950).
Carrick makes a huge call to drop Ronaldo from the starting line-up today. United have made four changes from their win over Villarreal. Harry Maguire is suspended and replaced at the back by Bailly. Matic comes into the fold in the middle of the park, while Rashford and Fernandes get the nod in the final third. Ronaldo, Martial and Van de Beek drop to the bench.
Chelsea have made three changes to their side that defeated Juve during the week. Two are enforced as Ben Chilwell and N'Golo Kante are both sidelined due to injury. Alonso and Loftus-Cheek come into the fold to replace the duo. Pulisic drops to the bench and is replaced by Werner as the spearhead. Lukaku returns to the bench for the Blues.
MANCHESTER UNITED SUBS: Phil Jones, Cristiano Ronaldo, Juan Mata, Anthony Martial, Mason Greenwood, Jesse Lingard, Diogo Dalot, Dean Henderson, Donny van de Beek.
MANCHESTER UNITED (4-3-3): David de Gea; Aaron Wan-Bissaka, Victor Lindelof, Eric Bailly, Alex Telles; Fred, Nemanja Matic, Scott McTominay; Marcus Rashford, Bruno Fernandes, Jadon Sancho.

In the aftermath of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's departure, Carrick did well to prepare his side for the challenge of Villarreal, securing a 2-0 win on the road and a path to the last 16 of the Champions League. Carrick must now leave the Red Devils in an improved state in the Premier League for incoming interim boss Ralf Rangnick. United were humiliated by Watford last week, suffering a 4-1 hammering at Vicarage Road. They can ill afford another poor performance in the top flight, entering the match in 10th place.
Chelsea have to respond to Manchester City's victory over West Ham United after Pep Guardiola's men joined the Blues level on points at the top of the table. Thomas Tuchel and his team were outstanding during the week to crush Juventus 4-0 in their Champions League clash. The Blues will need the same level of clinical edge to restore their three-point advantage over City, although United will provide a threat having found their attacking form under caretaker boss Michael Carrick.
Good afternoon and welcome to the live commentary of the Premier League clash between Chelsea and Manchester United.
