  • Denis Onyango of Mamelodi Sundowns.

    GOALKEEPER - Denis Onyango

The 2016 Caf Footballer of the Year based in Africa is set to return to action after serving his two-match suspension.

Onyango is still sitting at the top of the league's clean sheet charts with eight shutouts.

  • Thapelo Morena of Mamelodi Sundowns challenged by Sipho Mbule of Supersport United.

    RIGHT-BACK - Thapelo Morena

The experienced full-back marked his return to the Downs' XI with a solid display against Royal AM on Wednesday.

Morena, who grabbed an assist in that match, is expected to keep his place in the team with Khuliso Mudau out injured.

  • Aubrey Modiba, Mamelodi Sundowns, January 2021

    LEFT-BACK - Aubrey Modiba

The left-sided player made a good impact after coming on as a substitute against Royal AM and he also grabbed an assist.

Modiba could be handed a starting berth against his former side, SuperSport, having scored for Masandawana in the Tshwane Derby clash last season.

  • Rushine De Reuck, Mamelodi Sundowns, March 2021

CENTRE BACK - Rushine De Reuck

The Bafana Bafana international was recalled to the starting XI against Royal AM and it was his first start since October this year.

De Reuck might get the nod ahead of Mosa Lebusa, who had a poor game in midweek and he was substituted at half-time.

  • Grant Kekana, Mamelodi Sundowns, November 2021

    CENTRAL DEFENDER - Grant Kekana

The reliable defender will be facing his former SuperSport teammates once again having started in the recent Tshwane Derby which ended in a 1-1 draw.

Kekana is most likely to be tasked with man-marking the current PSL Golden Boot holder, Bradley Grobler, who scored against Stellenbosch FC in midweek.

  • Rivaldo Coetzee, Mamelodi Sundowns, August 2021

    CENTRAL MIDFIELDER - Rivaldo Coetzee

The ball-playing midfielder missed the midweek game due to a one-match suspension.

Coetzee will be up against SuperSport's influential midfielder Teboho Mokoena as the duo battle for control of the central areas.

  • Mothobi Mvala of Mamelodi Sundowns.

    CENTRAL MIDFIELDER - Mothobi Mvala

The former Highlands Park midfield general was introduced at half-time against Royal AM and he changed the complexion of the game.

Mvala looks set to start with Sundowns' first-choice central midfielder with Andile Jali suspended.

  • Mamelodi Sundowns v Orlando Pirates, Gaston Sirino

The 30-year-old playmaker made his first appearance for Masandawana since November when he came on as a substitute against Royal AM.

Sirino could be handed a starting berth with Themba Zwane out injured.

  • Neo Maema, Mamelodi Sundowns, November 2021

    LEFT FORWARD - Neo Maema

The gifted attacker was in top form during last month's Tshwane Derby clash as he grabbed a goal and assist.

Maema will be looking to play an important role in helping Sundowns overcome their city rivals.

  • Thabiso Kutumela, Mamelodi Sundowns, December 2021

    RIGHT FORWARD - Thabiso Kutumela

The diminutive forward is in good form at the moment having grabbed an assist against Stellenbosch FC last weekend, before scoring in midweek.

Kutumela will be keen to use his blistering speed to unsettle the SuperSport defence which has kept just one clean sheet in their last seven games.

  • Peter Shalulile, Mamelodi Sundowns, December 2021

    CENTRE FORWARD - Peter Shalulile

The accomplished striker was the hero for Sundowns in their 3-2 win over Royal AM as he grabbed a late brace to inspire the team to a victory.

Shalulile also scored against SuperSport last month and he will be confident of finding the back of the net once again.
